[Bug 691590] Re: libvirt should not take ownership of ISO images
@Clint: zsync does the same (writes the updated file to a temp, then renames/unlinks/whatever -- did not check the source). @Jamie: I just tried with qemu.conf setting user/group to root -- the ISO gets chown-ed to root:root, 0600. So, no dice here. Nevertheless, my whole point is it does not make much sense, security-wise, to chown a read-only file: it is an ISO image, and it is mounted on the CDROM: (...) If the file is never chown-ed to libvirt:kvm/whatever, then there is no race -- the file will keep the current ownership. Obviously, this does not apply to the qcow2 disc -- there is a clear exposure there. Now, why does libvirt in user-mode also chown the discs? I would expect the user- mode to run under the control (and ownership, at least for the disc images) of the effective userId that started the VM. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/691590 Title: libvirt should not take ownership of ISO images -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 485486] Re: Playlists not compatible with BlackBerry smartphone
I'm updating this as confirmed as I am experiencing the exact same issues with my BlackBerry Curve 8900. The m3u playlists created on the BlackBerry have absolute paths - therefore Rythmbox and Banshee should export playlists in the same fashion. I will do the upstream reporting but I'm not sure exactly where this should be done. My guess is that each player (banshee...etc) should implement the fix individually rather than media-player-info because I'm not sure media-player-info has the capacity to pass on to the player to use absolute paths, whereas the player just needs to append file:///SDCard in front of the file path when a blackberry is detected. ** Summary changed: - Playlists not compatible with BlackBerry smartphone + Playlists for BlackBerry smartphone should have absolute paths -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/485486 Title: Playlists for BlackBerry smartphone should have absolute paths -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'll give this a try! However, I've been running Maverick since October and had the first crash five minutes after following Needlez6's instructions, so I'm almost certain that this is a result of the patching process. [Bug 691100] Re: Replay gain in soundkonverter broken
This version claims itself as version 1.0.0 beta 1. Also notes -- using KDE development platform 4.5.1. Looking in synaptic, I have the 0.9.90-1 package installed. When I pull both the original .wav and the resultant .mp3 into Audacity, these look like nearly identical files. These sermon files tend to get recorded pretty quietly by my church, and the resulting mp3 is not louder than the wav file. I would expect a noticeable volume difference, if the replay gain worked (as it did in the older version of soundkonverter). I included both logs in the zip file. The "main" log is the default main log file. The "file" log is the one specific to converting my file to .mp3. Thanks for your help. ** Attachment added: "soundkonverter_logs.zip" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/soundkonverter/+bug/691100/+attachment/1769841/+files/soundkonverter_logs.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/691100 Title: Replay gain in soundkonverter broken -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
