[Bug 400236] Re: Mercurial conflicts with python (jaunty sparc at least)
Hi, I'm afraid that Jaunty has reached the end of its life, and is no longer supported. See the supported releases list https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases Additionally, the version of mercurial you confirmed this with wasn't the final version published in jaunty, nor is mipsel an Ubuntu architecture. https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mercurial/+publishinghistory I'm marking this bug as incomplete. If it isn't a bug on a supported Ubuntu release, there is little we can do to help. ** Changed in: mercurial (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/400236 Title: Mercurial conflicts with python (jaunty sparc at least) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

@henritonchain, great that you found a solution. Can you please do the following: 1) I'm assuming you still have https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules installed 2) Shut down and start up your computer, so the noise comes up. 3) Take an alsa-info https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/AlsaInfo 4) Start hda_analyzer and change the minimum number of things you need to change to make the noise go away - and still have complete functionality, of course. (If possible, try to make sure stuff as Mic Playback is still working.) 5) Take a new alsa-info: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/AlsaInfo I'll see if I can see what you change, and then try to change the same thing at bootup automatically. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/705633 Title: [Realtek ALC889] Horrible Sound distortion -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 581566] Re: udevd inotify_add_watch no such directory error for physical volumes
@bash.vi The reason that dmraid will halt your system from booting is that the raid metadata will still be in your disks. To stop dmraid from recognising your disks as a raid you have to purge this data from your disks. Dmraid can only identify disks as in a raid set by this metadata. I get these udevd error every-time I boot but it doesn't seem to effect my raid which has been running perfectly on 10.04, haven't tried 10.10 yet. The dm-xx nodes aren't even associated with dmraid so this bug is irrelevant from dmraid anyway. The installer in 10.04 would leave you with a broken install if you let it do the partitioning, I manually create my partition using gparted then install using ubiquity. Drop to a VT 2. pidof compiz #note the number that it spits out 3. sudo gdb #needed to attach to arbitrary applications 4. attach the_number 5. set logging-file ~/glib-bug.txt 6. bt 7. bt full 8. exit And then post the resulting glib-bug.txt in their home dir? [Bug 710148] Re: The list of languages does not show some available languages consistently
Thanks for your early feedback! language-selector scans the /usr/share/locale-langpack and /usr/share/locale directories. If all Spanish translations reside under 'es', language-selector shows the country independent "Spanish" item only. If country specific Spanish translations are available (i.e. 'es_XX' directories exist), the country independent "Spanish" item is _not_ shown. The issue reported in bug 700213 is the reason for 'hiding' the "Spanish" item in the latter case. Does that possibly explain the behavior you describe, David? Another thing is whether the design logic makes sense. I think I took for granted that in cases when country specific translations are available, the main dialect ('es_ES' in this case) is one of them. Apparently that assumption was a mistake. To solve this bug, I think that the code should be modified, so that in cases when country specific items are shown, the main dialect ('es_ES' in this case) shall always be included, irrespective of whether there are any translations under 'es_ES'. ** Changed in: language-selector (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: language-selector (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Gunnar Hjalmarsson (gunnarhj) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/710148 Title: The list of languages does not show some available languages consistently -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 709855] Re: Use shorter and more concise text for the "Format preferences for dates etc" tab label
On 2011-01-30 13:50, David Planella wrote: > "Format preferences" I believe still sounds not descriptive enough. > ... > That's why I proposed "Regional settings", How about simply merging them into "Regional Formats"? :-) Neither "preferences", "settings" nor "options" makes the label more descriptive anyway. I checked out Windows, and they have a window with the title "Regional and Language Options". The tab underneath (screenshot attached), that is most like the second tab in language-selector, is labeled "Formats". I also noticed this page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-can-I-do-with-regional-formats-and-languages To me, "Regional Formats" would not be a compromise. I think it would be better than my previous suggestions. > Adding a translations task for people interested in translations to > comment on this. Excellent! So let's put this bug on hold for a couple of weeks, and see what comes up. ** Attachment added: "regional-format.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/language-selector/+bug/709855/+attachment/1819094/+files/regional-format.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709855 Title: Use shorter and more concise text for the "Format preferences for dates etc" tab label -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 710308] Re: desktop hangs on startup with Unity 3d
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 709264 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709264 Mark seems to be right - it is apparently the same bug as #709264. Same symptoms, appeared at the same time. As with 709264, removing unity-place-files and unity-place-applications (neither of which seems to do anything at the moment) cures the symptoms.
