[Bug 711225] Re: subprocess.Popen() crashed with TypeError in _cleanup(): an integer is required

2011-03-01 Thread Martin Pitt
That actually wasn't the kind of debugging I was hoping for; I added
these three prints

print '*** subprocess _cleanup'
print '*** _active type:', type(_active)
print '*** _active:', _active

which ideally would appear in the output somewhere. Your output is
interesting as well, as it does point to a bug in subprocess. I'm not
quite sure why __del__() would be called at a time when the Popen object
doesn't have a _child_created attribute, that could only happen if
__del__ was invoked by the _cleanup() method. If that happens, that
would mean that the object gets destroyed while it hasn't even finished
the constructor yet.

[Bug 727026] [NEW] apt-get upgrade fails on samba-common if smb.conf is missing

2011-03-01 Thread Harald
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: samba

after launching update-manager, samba-common failed with statuscode 1--
all further dependencies failed to install.

apt-get update apt-get upgrade showed the same behaviour.

the file /etc/samba/smb.conf had been moved (by me, during some tests)
to /etc/samba/smb.conf.backup.

After restoring the smb.conf file to its original name, apt-get upgrade
was able to upgrade samba-common and all of its dependencies.

[Bug 727044] [NEW] Scrolling to bottom of feed reveals top

2011-03-01 Thread Dan Dart
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gwibber

On scrolling to the bottom of the feed, it's as if you hadn't scrolled
at all and shows the top section.

Expected behaviour:
Feed should continue scrolling revealing older news items. There shouldn't
really be a bottom.

Actual behaviour:
Feed scrolls considerably but at some point reaches a point where if you try to
scroll beyond it, the LAST few messages received are shown instead of the
previous ones to the ones you're currently viewing.

[Bug 727051] [NEW] Join Domain dialog never pops up

2011-03-01 Thread _the_mars_
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: likewise-open

(Version: 6.0.0.53010-3)

Clicking Active Directory Membership did not result in any window. Executing
sudo /usr/bin/domainjoin-gui on the command line resulted in much errors. The
most important was:
(domainjoin-gui:10303): libglade-WARNING **: could not find glade file

I indeed did not find the directory likewise in /usr/share/likewise-open.

[Bug 726924] Re: Upgrade from 10.04LTS to 10.10

2011-03-01 Thread Manfred Hampl
This most probably is a duplicate of bug 721306 and bug 658458 (and a
dozen similar ones)

If the package xserver-xorg-video-nouveau is installed, in several cases the
10.04 to 10.10 upgrade fails with the error message
Could not determine the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by
held packages.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

Several persons have reported that after removal of that package the
upgrade was successful.

Try this workaround: Open a terminal and enter the command:

sudo apt-get remove xserver-xorg-video-nouveau

and try the upgrade again.

[Bug 726980] Re: VMs crash and show as aborted whenever mouse is moved

2011-03-01 Thread Michael Thayer
Would you be able to provide a bit more background information? Things that
might be interesting include:
 * Are you using VirtualBox 4.0.4?
 * What guest systems are you using, and does this affect all VMs you use?
 * Does this happen as soon as the VMs start?
 * Do the guest systems have Guest Additions installed? (If this happens as
soon as the VMs start the question about Guest Additions is probably not
relevant.)
 * Are you using the USB mouse emulation?
 * Did this use to work, and if so, do you have any idea what might have
changed?
 * And could you provide a log file from a crashing VM session?
