[Bug 350936] Re: Should shut down domains on system shutdown
Hi Roman, actually I ended up with molly-guard solution. It is suboptimal solution because it stops your virtual machines only when shutdown/restart is initiated manually (and only from remote ssh session). It won't apply if UPS initiates shutdown or if power button is pressed shortly, etc. In my case the server (well, shall I still call it this way?) is desktop PC with no screen, no UPS, accessible only via SSH. Therefore molly-guard solutions is satisfactory for me. Attached is file, which you can copy into /etc/molly-guard/run.d/ directory if you decide to use it this way. [Bug 191251] Re: [needs-packaging] php5-embed
In this case, I don't think we're considering the users' position, or how this negatively affects PHP by making it hard for users to utilize embedded PHP on our platform. I think that's exactly what we do - we do consider the users' position. phc is almost only user of this SAPI, which is still marked as experimental (after almost 4 years and last commit from it's upstream author in 2007). Also quoting Pierre Joye: About embed, I also think it is premature to bring it to a stable package. It needs some changes to be useful (for ex. split init functions so it can be used with embedded server more efficiently). Maybe a good start would be to contribute directly to PHP and add some tests for this SAPI. Once we reached a stable state, distros can then consider to bring it to their users. So when considering the users' position to not exposing them to experimental SAPI with almost zero user base and unstable API, the best consideration would be to not package the embed SAPI. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191251 Title: [needs-packaging] php5-embed -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 573919] Re: autofs doesn't work with lucid
Hello to all reporters of this issue. It seems to me that the upstream encoded requirements for autofs: # Required-Start: $network $ypbind # Required-Stop: $network $ypbind Have not been properly captured in the upstart job: start on (filesystem and net-device-up IFACE!=lo) stop on runlevel [!2345] $ypbind is particularly tricky because it has not been converted to upstart yet. That is bug #569757 That said, until that bug is fixed, we can just start ypbind in the pre- start, alleviating this problem. For $network, the exact meaning of this has never been clear[1], so emitting it when the first real interface is up is probably a decent best effort. Given all of that, and the fact that we are the upstream for the upstart job, I am marking this as Triaged. 1. http://refspecs.freestandards.org/LSB_3.1.0/LSB-Core-generic/LSB- Core-generic/facilname.html ** Changed in: autofs (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to autofs in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/573919 Title: autofs doesn't work with lucid -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 581581] Re: daemon crashing and going defunct prevents suspend
It's a year later, and I am now on different hardware and running Ubuntu 10.10. Imagine my surprise when this bug resurfaced to bite me again today: [363033.049187] Freezing of tasks failed after 20.01 seconds (1 tasks refusing to freeze): [363033.049222] gnome-setting D 0164a060 0 1936 1 0x0084 [363033.049229] 880232095ce8 0086 880232095c78 00015980 [363033.049234] 880232095fd8 00015980 880232095fd8 88021f73adc0 [363033.049239] 00015980 00015980 880232095fd8 00015980 [363033.049244] Call Trace: [363033.049254] [8107fd60] ? prepare_to_wait+0x60/0x90 [363033.049262] [812428a5] request_wait_answer+0x85/0x240 [363033.049266] [8107fab0] ? autoremove_wake_function+0x0/0x40 [363033.049270] [81242adc] fuse_request_send+0x7c/0x90 [363033.049275] [8124b638] fuse_statfs+0xe8/0x160 [363033.049281] [8117be1c] vfs_statfs+0x7c/0xa0 [363033.049285] [8117bf10] vfs_statfs_native+0x20/0xb0 [363033.049289] [8117c0b3] sys_statfs+0x73/0xb0 [363033.049294] [811240fe] ? remove_vma+0x6e/0x90 [363033.049299] [81126549] ? do_munmap+0x309/0x3a0 [363033.049306] [8100a0f2] system_call_fastpath+0x16/0x1b gnome-settings-daemon is in state Ds -- I cannot kill it, and I cannot suspend my new laptop. [Bug 737359] [NEW] unity-2d in hide_mode 0 covers left side of full-screen windows
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity-2d Testing Natty in VMware, host has old graphics and can't run unity so running unity-2d. But I wanted the launcher on-screen all the time so I set '/desktop/unity-2d/launcher/hide_mode= 0' That worked, but full- screen apps still assume that it's auto-hiding and really use the full screen, so they get cut off at the left where the unity-2d launcher covers them. Unity-2d should force apps to full-screen properly and not be hidden, according to the hide_mode setting.
