[Bug 716814] Re: Please re-enable CONFIG_SOUND_OSS* and CONFIG_SND_*OSS*
ossp works on 11.04. I downloaded the modified libfuse from this page: http://mirror.leaseweb.com/kernel/people/tj/ossp/ and ossp from this: https://sourceforge.net/projects/osspd/ once libfuse was compiled and installed I had to modprobe cuse. chmod 777 /dev/cuse (i'm sure theres better permissions but I'm lazy). compile ossp copy the ossp binaries to /usr/bin run ossp -v -f chmod 777 /dev/dsp chmod 777 /dev/mixer chmod 777 /dev/adsp I had perfect sound output from the application aqualung when started with aqualung --output oss. It appears that mmap is not currently working though. On this page: http://osspd.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=osspd/osspd;a=log;h=HEAD it states that 7 months ago the fuse mmap api changed so mmap is currently disabled. There was another release of osspd (the one i'm using now) 2 months ago but that does not have working mmap, so games based on quake3 engine (and anything else using mmap) will still not work. The output from ossp opens a connection and closes connection as expected with aqualung, however as soon as an mmap connection tries to open, it closes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/716814 Title: Please re-enable CONFIG_SOUND_OSS* and CONFIG_SND_*OSS* -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 779455] Re: no window borders in unity, no max-min-close buttons
Same bug here. It happens intermittently when launching applications, maximizing windows, closing multiple windows, after the screen saver is activated, and occasionally when programs crash. I get windows with no borders or title bar. Logging out and back in fixes it but, obviously I can't do this all the time. I've noticed it gets worse if my system is up for longer periods of time. If I leave my machine running for man than a few hours it happens more frequently. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/779455 Title: no window borders in unity, no max-min-close buttons -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 782893] [NEW] libvdpau1 is not working
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libvdpau1 I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 dev (64 bit) with nvidia-current 270.41.06-0ubuntu1, libvdpau1 0.4.1-2ubuntu1 and flashplugin-nonfree 10.2.159.1ubuntu1. The file /etc/adobe/mms.cfg exists and EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode is set to 1. I have tried from http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/stagevideo.html some videos but they are rendered in "software video rendering" mode. I have installed the official drivers from NVIDIA and they are working without a problem. The videos show me "accelerated video rendering". I have made some tests a few hours and figured out that the official NVIDIA driver needs at least the file /usr/lib32/vdpau/libvdpau_nvidia.so.270.41.06. The nvidia-current package has this file too at /usr/lib32/nvidia- current/vdpau/libvdpau_nvidia.so.270.41.06. But it is still not activated and I can't figure out why. ** Affects: libvdpau (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/782893 Title: libvdpau1 is not working -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yep, having the same problems here also, with a dual monitor set up. Works fine without compiz, but with compiz the screen gets corrupts. @Gunnar, (#107) Thank you for your help. I tested it and it seems to be working at this moment. [Bug 782890] [NEW] no ping response on all hosts after upgrade
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: backuppc After upgrading from 3.1.0 to 3.2.0 as part of the Ubuntu server upgrade from maverick to natty, none of my hosts were backing up, and all (including localhost) were reporting "no ping response". I followed all instructions prior to upgrading, and backuppc was at 3.1.0-9ubuntu2 and working. I discovered the addition of the Ping6Path config variable, which is set to "undef" by default. My config.pl file had the line $Conf{Ping6Path} = undef; after both an upgrade to 3.2.0-3ubuntu4 and a clean install after purging the package. This, combined with the added code to Lib.pm caused the $pingPath in $pingCmd to be empty, thus causing the "no ping response" errors. Changing the Ping6Path line in config.pl to $Conf{Ping6Path} = '/bin/ping6'; solved the problem. This value should be populated by default for a fresh install if /bin/ping6 is found, just as /bin/ping is populated in $Conf{PingPath}. # lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 11.04 Release:11.04 # apt-cache policy backuppc backuppc: Installed: 3.2.0-3ubuntu4 Candidate: 3.2.0-3ubuntu4 Version table: *** 3.2.0-3ubuntu4 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: backuppc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/782890 Title: no ping response on all hosts after upgrade -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 782710] Re: Cannot install LibreOffice 3.3.2 with OOo 3.3
I may have pasted the error from the OOo installation. But the message was similar for the LibreOffice installation; both noted the failure to overwrite openoffice.org.xml. I see now your confusion with interpreting the point of my bug report. I am sorry I was unclear. Well it is nice to hear that no such package exists. But give it a whirl. Try installing OOo 3.3 with LibreOffice 3.3.2 in place, and you will see an error similar to this. Or perform the reverse, install LibreOffice with OOo installed. A nearly identical error is emitted. Granted I only went through this because of the issues LibreOffice has with printing multi-tabbed Calc sheets as well as the hanging that occurs when pasting large numbers of rows to a sheet.
