[Bug 539477] Re: Video out hot key sends super + p + return on many upcoming Dell & HP systems
[ Cross-post from bug 694910 comment 6: https://bugs.launchpad.net /gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/694910/comments/6 ] Fix for bug 539477 broke my usage of Mod4-P (incidentally, on a Lenovo laptop). What's the reason for the "Won't Fix" status here? This is extremely unexpected and annoying behavior. Stealing existing user shortcuts and making them not configurable is unacceptable. Just because some Dell/HP laptops have a certain behavior is not a valid reason for having one of your most heavily used shortcuts in your IDE do something else all of a sudden. Also consider it unacceptable to be asked to change my existing, heavily day-to-day used shortcuts. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/539477 Title: Video out hot key sends super + p + return on many upcoming Dell & HP systems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/539477/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 511511] Re: Can't launch file managers
Let me be quite blunt about why this bug is not fixed in Docky. I believe it is either a problem with Nautilus or whatever session manager you use. Here is my logic. The bug only happens when Docky auto-starts, usually via a session manager (gnome-session, etc). Docky will inherit the environment *at the point it starts*. Thus, I believe the issue is that something in the environment is not set prior to Docky auto-starting and Nautilus will not work (without an explicit path passed in!) without whatever that missing environment is. So either, Nautilus has a bug and needs to be smarter and start without that environment (seems reasonable to me... if I ask Nautilus to start, why won't it show a window??). Or you need a session manager smart enough to order the startup such that Docky starts after whatever starts that sets up that missing environment. In either case, there is nothing Docky can do. I have been kind enough to not mark this a Invalid/WontFix, mostly so it shows up in our bug list. But basically I consider it a non-Docky bug and thus it is out of my hands. PS, this logic applies to any app having this issue such as Plank and Slingshot. I mean think about it people, Docky (plank/slingshot) is running the command 'nautilus' (and you can indeed verify it runs this, and Nautilus just exits). [Bug 694910] Re: Regression: patch to bug 539477 breaks Super+P keybindings
Fix for bug 539477 broke my usage of Mod4-P (incidentally, on a Lenovo laptop). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/694910 Title: Regression: patch to bug 539477 breaks Super+P keybindings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/694910/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 798915] [NEW] orca magnifier unusable
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-orca When I start orca magnifier, it comes up full screen, there are two cursors, and it is impossible to determine how to set the settings. The settings cannot be set without the magnifier running. [Bug 798911] [NEW] Please support -vfilter in ffmpeg
Public bug reported: (Using Ubuntu 11.04 and ffmpeg 4:0.6.2-ubuntu1 -- both the most recent at the time I posted this). FFMpeg is a great tool, and I tend to prefer it over MEncoder because it seems better supported and has better documentation (and seems to support webm out of the box, which mencoder doesn't). However a good deal of its functionality is from its video filters, which the ubuntu repository doesn't seem to support at all. I have googled, and found dozens of pages of users talking about having to recompile from svns or gits, and I'd really just like to be able to use it without turning my web server into more of a nightmare of packages than it already is (and have the additional problems of patching and security updates to stuff not maintained by you guys, if I don't break it completely). Please do whatever tech genius is required to allow users to use vfilters in the ubuntu distribution of ffmpeg. Cheers. ** Affects: libav (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798911 Title: Please support -vfilter in ffmpeg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libav/+bug/798911/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please try to obtain a backtrace manually following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report.
