[Bug 787742] Re: lirc_atiusb non functional with snapstream firefly
I have a ATI Remote Wonder 2 ... and upgrading to Natty is literally a two nights spent getting and tryin all kinds of configuration options with no success whatsoever. If I use ati_remote2 it is OK, Lirc and irw work fine, except that the remote is seen as a input device. All great, until you want to use that with XBMC and/or disable the remote in X11 so the remote does not mess with the actual mouse+keyboard. With ati_remote2 driver if you want to filter the remote event irw also stops receiving signals - so no choice than to have the remote active in x11 as a input device. This for a triple display setup as I have (2 monitors + 1 tv running on 2 x Nvidia cards) is unacceptable - you don't want someone putting the PC to sleep because they pushed the sleep button on the remote while watching XBM/TV. Now If someone actually has an idea how to get ati_remote2 driver to not be treated as an input device in X11 and to generate standard scan codes in lirc/irw I have no issue. But so far this is a no no .. I could not figure how to get this working properly at all, nothing that was working before is applicable. So.. I decided to go to lirc_atiusb + lirc_dev , use the linux devinput as I am doing on Ubuntu 9 LTS. Got the lirc-modules-source , built the modules, removed the blacklisted lirc_atiusb etc. But for no avail, lirc_atiusb does not send any events to lirc ?!!! [Bug 467825] Re: Battery state always fully charged
Have reported to the bugzilla but i think the error lies within upower. As stated before the fix seems to remedy the issue that the battery status isn't updated at all and the gnome power manager reports this correctly. However when battery reaches critical there is no reaction from the gnome-power-manager. Looking at the printout below i think this is due to the fact that the upower Daemon does not recognize that the computer runs on battery or that the battery is low. If someone that knows anything about the signalling could point out what upower is supposed to report to let gnome-power-manager react then i could try to debug it but the signalling between the processes feels like black art to me. upower -d Device: /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/line_power_ACAD native-path: /sys/devices/LNXSYSTM:00/device:00/ACPI0003:00/power_supply/ACAD power supply: yes updated: Tue Jun 28 07:56:42 2011 (7 seconds ago) has history: no has statistics: no line-power online: no Device: /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT1 native-path: /sys/devices/LNXSYSTM:00/device:00/PNP0C0A:00/power_supply/BAT1 vendor: SIMPLO model:UM08A73 serial: 00A3 power supply: yes updated: Tue Jun 28 07:56:47 2011 (2 seconds ago) has history: yes has statistics: yes battery present: yes rechargeable:yes state: fully-charged energy: 0.9768 Wh energy-empty:0 Wh energy-full: 12.6984 Wh energy-full-design: 24.42 Wh energy-rate: 10.3452 W voltage: 10.222 V percentage: 7.69231% capacity:52% technology: lithium-ion History (charge): 1309240600 7.692 charging 1309240585 7.955 discharging 1309240555 8.829 discharging 1309240525 9.441 discharging History (rate): 1309240600 10.345 charging 1309240585 10.578 discharging 1309240555 10.279 discharging 1309240525 10.268 discharging Daemon: daemon-version: 0.9.9 can-suspend: no can-hibernateno on-battery: no on-low-battery: no lid-is-closed: no lid-is-present: no is-docked: no -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/467825 Title: Battery state always fully charged To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-power/+bug/467825/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 799077] Re: Filesystem icons appear on both the launcher and desktop
Gnome developers have commented that this is not strictly speaking a problem in Gnome, and that: You can 'fix' this by setting the 'org.gnome.nautilus.desktop volumes-visible' to false in GSettings, or the correspondent GConf option in 2.32 (which is probably what the Ubuntu package should do, if they already show the volume icons elsewhere). [Bug 802844] [NEW] Xlib doesn't provide current window titles
Public bug reported: I'm using the Python Xlib bindings to go through all of the xlib windows, and access their wm names using win.get_wm_name(). This bit of code used to work in earlier versions of Ubuntu, but ever since switching to Unity, many windows are marked as not 'viewable' and their window titles seem to be the titles provided during initialization, not the updated ones. A good example of this is that gedit will say its title is 'gedit', and not 'Untitled Document 1 - gedit', like it used to. This behavior is visible in other code as well, like suckless.org's lsw utility, which is programmed in C. I'm saying I don't know for the package name, since this may be a side-effect of unity... ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/802844 Title: Xlib doesn't provide current window titles To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/802844/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 802848] [NEW] Natty+Gnome3 is broken at June 25th
Public bug reported: My PC : HP Envy 14 - Ubuntu 11.04 64bits + Gnome3 from the official Gnome team ppa. [Bug 785680] Re: [MIR] accountsservice
Instead of respawning the account daemon from the postinst, I think it would be better to just let D-Bus relaunch it on demand to keep its environment standard (rather than getting the environment of whatever was running dpkg). The -- fixes look good, thanks. I think the username string comment was misunderstood. I was saying that since 'adduser' accepts -, ., and _, then so should accountsservice, but it seems that the username filter regular expression doesn't allow those characters (and should be fixed). The file size check as the root user is a problem because it is an information leak (it can be used to test for the existence of files, etc). If the size check is going to be used at all, it should be done during the copy (as the real user), to avoid information leaks or ToCToU races. I'd still like to see some kind of solution for passing the password in the clear over D-Bus. apg is just used to generate a password, IIUC, not to do the hashing. ** Changed in: accountsservice (Ubuntu) Assignee: Kees Cook (kees) = Rodrigo Moya (rodrigo-moya) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/785680 Title: [MIR] accountsservice To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/accountsservice/+bug/785680/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 779501] Re: no default video format
2011-06-27 19:23 keltezéssel, Timokl írta: You can solve this the following way: Just create a text file $HOME/.config/video_format and write into this file PAL or NTSC. The reason is that DVDAuthor does not support default video format any more, so you have to define it. Also fixed the progress dialog: now it shows the text centered. - Added bugfix for the AC3 bug in Mencoder beta (must use ac3_fixed instead of ac3 as audio codec). Add a Preferences window, and put there the folder for temporary items (like previews), to use or not several cores, to delete or not the temporary files, and to activate or not the AC3 bugfix for mencoder. * Switch to dh_python2. * Build with scour for SVG optimizations. * Update debian/copyright. * Bump Standards. -- Alessio Treglia quadris...@ubuntu.com Thu, 23 Jun 2011 11:33:24 +0200 ** Changed in: devede (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/779501 Title: no default video format To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dvdauthor/+bug/779501/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 802870] [NEW] gnome-keyring interferes with screensaver
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 11.04 gnome-keyring: 2.92.92.is.2.32.1-0ubuntu2 I have autologin. When I turn on the computer and wait for the screensaver to lock the screen, then instead of the locked screen I have the unlock keyring prompt. When I then unlock the keyring, the screensaver immediately locks the screen and I have to put my password in again. Instead the screensaver should take over and lock the screen without the need to unlock the keyring. Entering the password to unlock the screen should then unlock the keyring password, too. ** Affects: gnome-keyring (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/802870 Title: gnome-keyring interferes with screensaver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/+bug/802870/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 701086] Re: utouch does not recognize that I use a left-handed mouse
Chase, As I understand it, this happens when the user selects Left-handed in the mouse configuration application. Once that is done, the mouse buttons are inversed as desired, but this has the unfortunate effect of causing the touch screen to do secondary mouse clicks instead of primary. Are you not able to reproduce this behaviour? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Expired = New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/701086 Title: utouch does not recognize that I use a left-handed mouse To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/701086/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
