[Bug 826828] Re: Clamav microversion update for 0.97 - 0.97.2

[Bug 752833] Re: apparmor deny freshclam mask=r on /var/run/samba/unexpected.tdb
Talked it over with jdstrand, and the conclusion is that we will add another deny rule (or better yet, extend the existing one), to stop the log spamming. I've attached the rule suggested by jdstrand. We can't really reproduce this bug but the rule can be added safely as it doesn't change the default behavior, the access still gets denied, but not logged anymore. With this rule added, freshclam works the same. ** Patch added: usr.bin.freshclam-oneiric.diff https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamav/+bug/752833/+attachment/2311840/+files/usr.bin.freshclam-oneiric.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to clamav in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/752833 Title: apparmor deny freshclam mask=r on /var/run/samba/unexpected.tdb To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamav/+bug/752833/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Re: [Bug 829628] Re: [FFE] Add cgroup-lite package
Hi Serge, On Thu, Aug 25, 2011 at 04:23:25AM -, Serge Hallyn wrote: Quoting StefanPotyra (stefan.pot...@informatik.uni-erlangen.de): Thanks for looking, Stefan. This looks odd: +cd /sys/fs/cgroup +for d in `/bin/ls`; do + umount $d || true +done Thanks for drawing my attention to this. This is indeed a problem. As an example, I did: (as root) mount --bind /dev/pts /mnt (as serge) (cd /sys/fs/cgroup; ln -s /mnt) (as root) umount /sys/fs/cgroup/mnt and /mnt got umounted. I didn't think about such a scenario, and believe that that would be the fault of the admin to mount stuff there. As for the for d in `/bin/ls`; do bit, what exactly looks odd about it? I do it all the time by hand, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be changed here... I usually use for i in *; do ;) The case where * doesn't match anything should be covered by || true, right? Anyways, I guess I wasn't clear that this was just a small oddity, not at all a blocker. I had considered specifying a (configurable) list of cgroups to mount, and then only umount those. I.e. CGROUPS=memory devices cpu freezer at top of the upstart job. Maybe 'all' option which then grabs all from 'cat /proc/cgroups. Would that be preferable? I like the current simplicity :). However that's up to you, I'd be equally happy with it. Is the following sufficient (no clue really, I've never been too intimate with upstart scripts)? +start on mounted MOUNTPOINT=/sys The cgroups get mounted under /sys/fs/cgroup, and have no userspace dependencies, so it should be sufficient. Having /proc mounted? (Is it guaranteed to be mounted prior to /sys?) Having /usr mounted in case it is on a different partition? (Or don't we support such a scenario). As I wrote, I don't have too much clue about upstart. apart from that, I don't see if any mentioned bugs have been forwarded to upstream. Can you shed some light here please? Seeing upstream The bug about cgclear failing (so that the job fails to stop, and the package can't be removed) was mentioned upstream, but I don't believe they've pushed a patch for it yet. They announced in the last few days that they expect all functionality to be pulled into systemd, and therefore will stop developing. Ah, ok. IMO it's both boot speed and not running extraneous daemons on your system. Go ahead then, FFe granted. [Bug 830142] Re: package samba-common-bin 2:3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: short read on buffer copy for backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/bin/smbpasswd'
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure can be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. [Bug 569792] Re: wish, alternative available for apport-bug
I don't quite like this idea. If you manually configure an alternative, and then the selected frontend isn't available (no $DISPLAY set, or you removed a desktop environment, etc), it wouldn't work at all any more. If you really want to run the GTK variant under KDE or vice versa, you can run it directly with e.g . /usr/share/apport/apport-gtk. But as this isn't a common case, I rather keep the dynamic selection. ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569792 Title: wish, alternative available for apport-bug To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apport/+bug/569792/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 818729] Re: [Oneiric] apport-gtk expected enumeration type GtkWindowType, but got GtkMessageType instead
apport (1.21.3-0ubuntu1) oneiric; urgency=low * New upstream bug fix release. Changes since our previous snapshot: - Add apport.packaging.get_library_paths() interface and implement it for backends/packaging-apt-dpkg.py using dpkg multiarch directories. Use it in chroot.py. This unbreaks apport-chroot for oneiric. - hookutils.py: Don't attach empty values. Thanks Bryce Harrington. (LP: #813798) - apport-gtk: Correctly pass message dialog type. - apport-gtk: Fix GLib and GObject imports to be compatible with the future pygobject 3.0. - hookutils.py, attach_alsa(): Get a list of outputs/inputs that PulseAudio knows about, which also shows the currently selected output/input, as well as volumes. This should help with no sound bug troubleshooting. Thanks Luke Yelavich. * data/general-hooks/ubuntu.py: Fix crash if report doesn't have a Package field (caught by test suite). * data/general-hooks/ubuntu.py: Fix crash if report doesn't have a DpkgTerminalLog field (caught by test suite). -- Martin Pitt martin.p...@ubuntu.com Wed, 17 Aug 2011 08:42:18 +0200 ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Fix Released ** Changed in: apport Status: Fix Committed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/818729 Title: [Oneiric] apport-gtk expected enumeration type GtkWindowType, but got GtkMessageType instead To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apport/+bug/818729/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 833541] [NEW] package mysql-cluster-server-5.1 7.1.9a-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: on initial install of package, system hung. closed the terminal window, opened a new one. ran sudo apt-get update. Got a message saying I should run dpkg --configure -a, which I did.. mysql-cluster-server failed to install due to password conflict from previous install attempt. at end of command, I figured I'd remove, then re-install the package from scratch. part way through package removal, I got a crash with a prompt to file a bug report. [Bug 48671] Re: Cannot rename by clicking on a file
I totally agree! I would love to have the single click to rename option in nautilus. I am on a laptop, and in order to rename using the F2 key I have to press Fn+F2, which is more finger acrobatic than I want it to be. I like it how it is done in Windows: you click a tad longer than simply selecting a file and it goes into rename mode. Let's see if this can be implemented in Nautilus, too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/48671 Title: Cannot rename by clicking on a file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/48671/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
