[Bug 833300] Re: NFSv4 mount point does not allow binary files to run when permissions are set only to execute

2011-09-13 Thread Torsten Spindler
I reproduced this problem per your setup on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS server and
client. There nfs4 would not work (e.g. permission denied), but nfs3
works. However, on Oneiric as server neither nor works:

spindler@spitfire:~$ sudo mount -t nfs -o vers=3 meteor:/home/spindler/export
/mnt-meteor
spindler@spitfire:~$ /mnt-meteor/hello
bash: /mnt-meteor/hello: Permission denied
spindler@spitfire:~$ mount -v | grep mnt-meteor
meteor:/home/spindler/export on /mnt-meteor type nfs
(rw,vers=3,addr=192.168.1.122)

[Bug 849729] [NEW] [MIR] java-atk-wrapper

2011-09-13 Thread Luke Yelavich
Public bug reported:

 affects ubuntu/java-atk-wrapper
 subscribe ubuntu-mir

Java-atk-wrapper is required in main for a couple of reasons

1) TO allow the demotion of the legacy at-spi v1 stack, i.e the at-spi and
java-access-bridge source packages, which are no longer maintained upstream.
2) To allow java applications to work with accessibility tools regardless of
the underlying IPC.

The package is not yet in Debian, but is in Ubuntu universe. Packaging
is maintained in Debian vcs git by the pkg-a11y team.

[Bug 843221] Re: apport-retrace crashed with AssertionError in download(): bug description must contain standard apport format data

2011-09-13 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package apport - 1.23-0ubuntu1

---
apport (1.23-0ubuntu1) oneiric; urgency=low

  [ Brian Murray ]
  * data/package-hooks/source_ubiquity.py: Do not create a DuplicateSignature
for bugs with a Traceback included as it is redundant

  [ Martin Pitt ]
  * New upstream release:
- crashdb.py, crash-digger, dupdb-admin: Drop the concept of "duplicate DB
consolidation". Such massive queries cause timeouts with e. g.
Launchpad. Instead, update the status of potential master bugs in the
crash DB whenever check_duplicate() is called. Note that this does not
affect Ubuntu itself, just the retracers in the data center.
- launchpad.py: Fix crash in close_duplicate() if master bug was already
marked as a duplicate of the examined bug.
- problem_report.py, load(): Fix missing last character if the last line
in a multi-line field is not terminated with a newline.
- launchpad.py: Fix test_marking_python_task_mangle() check to work with
  current Launchpad.
- apport-retrace: If the user did not specify a --cache directory, create
a shared one instead of letting the two install_packages() calls create
their own. This ensures that the apt and dpkg status is up to date, and
avoids downloading the package indexes multiple times. (LP: #847951)
- apport-retrace: Give proper error mesage instead of AssertionError crash
if a report does not contain standard Apport format data. (LP: #843221)
- fileutils.py, get_new_reports(): Fix crash if report file disappears in
the middle of the operation. (LP: #640216)
- apport/ui.py, load_report(): Intercept another case of broken report
  files. (LP: #445142)
- apport/report.py, standard_title(): Escape regular expression control

[Bug 789198] Re: Firefox crashes when attempting to play webm video on ARM with Thumb2 enabled

2011-09-13 Thread Ricardo Salveti
Firefox 6.0 at Natty still has this issue as the patch is not yet
applied. Also confirmed that this is already included at the 7.X version
available for Oneiric, so once the 7 release is backported to Natty,
this should be officially fixed.

Meanwhile I'll build and maintain the 6.0 version at the Linaro Overlay
PPA.

[Bug 555641] Re: MASTER: max texture size prevents compiz from running

2011-09-13 Thread HyperHacker
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 824099 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/824099

I think bug #824099 might be related to framebuffer size (plugging in
the extra screen makes the display area bigger) and may well be the same
issue as bug #789385, whereas this bug relates to max texture size. The
former limits the size of your total display area, whereas the latter
limits the size of individual windows (which unfortunately includes the
root window which occupies the entire display area anyway).

[Bug 770906] Re: ihu version 0.6.0-2ubuntu2 failed to build on amd64 with GCC-4.6/oneiric

2011-09-13 Thread Florian Brandes
The Qt test fails, because the Macro called (BNV_HAVE_QT) in configure has
linking issues. Looking closer it shows configure lines like:
bnv_try_4="$CXX $QT_LIBS $LIBS -o bnv_qt_main bnv_qt_main.o moc_bnv_qt_test.o
>/dev/null 2>bnv_qt_test_4.out"
Where it shoud have been:
bnv_try_4="$CXX -o bnv_qt_main bnv_qt_main.o moc_bnv_qt_test.o $QT_LIBS $LIBS
>/dev/null 2>bnv_qt_test_4.out"

Anyone any idea how to change the BNV_HAVE_QT Macro? I don't like just
disabling it..

[Bug 784985] Re: ACER Easyport IV problems with Meerkat and Natty

2011-09-13 Thread grumrick
Sorry, h0nig, but no. I don't expect anything to happen to resolve this
because, as I said previously, it doesn't rate high in the bug
priorities list. 10.10 and 11.04 have huge video problems with Nvidia
cards (I'm one of those affected) and hundreds have posted but, as yet,
no solution. So I don't hold out much hope of a speedy resolution of
this problem. I will add that the problems I'm having with Ubuntu are
turning me off quickly, but I cannot bring myself to revert to Windows 7
as my main OS. Well, not yet.

[Bug 843709] Re: IRQ handling issues on sandy bridge board

2011-09-13 Thread Michael Atkinson
Update:

The original configuration had 2 x 4 GB DDR-3 modules. After upgrading
to 4 x 4 GB DDR-3 modules, the problem has disappeared.

Suspect there is a memory issue involved in the interrupt handling
process.

I experience this bug as well I think, when I shut down my 11.04
installation which has been upgraded to the latest of 11.10 Plasma often
likes to throw a crash message just before KDE closes down. It doesn't
happen every time though. Launchpad suggested that my bug is related to
this one.

[Bug 849711] [NEW] Startup Manager doesn't correctly honour "default" selection.

[Bug 849713] [NEW] Login screen and Universal Access problem

2011-09-13 Thread _aleksandar_
Public bug reported:

After starting the login screen when a password is required for login, I
have chosen the option of Universal Access. Then open a new window
(Universal Access) in the middle of the screen. First I check-in first
option (Use on-screen keyboard), then there is a new window on the top
left of the screen, which I covered previously open window (Universal
Access). Then I moved the window (Universal Access) to the right
(visible) part of the screen, and check-in option Use screen magnifier,
after which the entire right half of the screen become black and
completely covered the window (Universal Access). More can never access
controls in a hidden window, and I wanted to turn off this option, which
I turned back and all the original state. In vain I tried to find a
hidden window and return it to the left (visible) side of the screen. I
rebooted the computer hoping that everything will be as before, but no,
right half of the screen was still black with the options checked in the
Universal Acces. After many failed attempts, I succeeded again (blindly)
to open the window and check-out options that were checked, so I
returned everything to default. I propose the following solution to this
problem. Restrict moving window (Universal Access) on the right half of
the screen (which is scheduled for screen magnifier). The problem occurs
in Ubuntu versions 10.04.3 LTS, 10.10 and 11.04. To me, I would classify
this problem in a more serious category.

Sorry if I made a mistake somewhere in spelling, because I do not know
English well.

Right, all matches in bug patterns are regular expressions, and '(',

afraid it needs to stay as it is.

[Bug 849224] Re: hvm domU doesn't start (qemu-keymaps can't load)

2011-09-13 Thread Kloana
I installed ubuntu server, and all xen packages,... So this is why i'm a
little bit confused. From my point of view, is that when i install all
these packages the xen packages should also install dependency packages
for his functions. Yes it's correct in qemu-common these keymap files
are also included. Sorry for the wrong report.

[Bug 849707] [NEW] Another user attempting to start video chat crashes Pidgin

2011-09-13 Thread Kromey
Public bug reported:

A Google Talk contact attempted to initiate a video chat with me; he was
using the Google Android client, and I am using Pidgin 2.7.11. Pidgin
crashes completely when he does that, no error messages, no warnings,
the whole program simply closes.

This is repeatable each and every time he attempts to initiate a video
chat -- we were able to reproduce it 3 times without fail.
