[Bug 850320] Re: bad memory leak in unity-2d-panel

2011-09-16 Thread Hernando Torque
The "bad" part of this leak is definitely fixed now, but there still
seems to be a leak when starting applications. I'm attaching a
screenshot showing the mem usage of unity-2d-panel over time.

I started applications at various times (indicated by larger jumps),
memory is freed when switching between windows, but not when closing the
applications (at the end of the plot there's only a gnome-terminal
running).

[Bug 850891] Re: Regression: system does not shutdown/reboot

2011-09-16 Thread Leann Ogasawara
Hi Steve,

We've been seeing similar issues with some Dell Latitude and Optiplex
models. The work around there is to boot with "reboot=pci". Does this
same work around resolve the issue for you? Please let us know.
Thanks.

Re: [Bug 547106] Re: Please upgrade libproxy to 0.4.x

But my O/S vendor is Canonical, not Debian. If I wanted to have to deal
with the Debian political quagmire, I'd install a Debian O/S. Why is
Canonical not pushing (i.e. requesting package updates) of Debian on
behalf of it's users? Why do I, as simply a Ubuntu user have to push
Debian so that you can pull an update from them?

Looking about this another way, I don't have a Debian O/S on which to
actually test Debian's libproxy and so cannot in any good faith put
together a legitimate bug report about a Debian O/S. So why should I
have to?

[Bug 316816] Re: Segmentation fault at large expression lists

2011-09-16 Thread bawitdaba
Hey I just wanted to say thanks this helped a lot running squidGuard
1.5-static, but there is also one new problem I found after a half hour
of lots and lots of segfaulting

In the latest easylist there are two lines with \9 in them, for whatever
reason this caused squidGuard to segfault I had to remove those two
lines for it to work.

To the person above that said split or only use the first 1000 lines,
while that solution might work for you it's only because there is an
issue with the file your using, if you find the problem and fix it then
squidGuard can handle all of the 14k+ of regex filters just fine.

[Bug 852061] [NEW] Compiz on Kubuntu Oneiric does not show panels

2011-09-16 Thread fejes
Public bug reported:

After a recent update this week, the latest version of compiz appears to
prevent panels from showing up in KDE.

1) I am using Kubuntu Oneiric with all packages up to date.
2) The problem first occured in the past week, and is still present in compiz
1:0.9.5.94+bzr2803-0ubuntu5)
3) What I expect: When logging into Kubuntu, I should have the desktop appear,
windows should appear, and the panel(s) should appear. Compiz should start,
and I should be able to use compiz as I would use kwin, as a window manager.
4) What happens: when logging into Kubuntu, I see the desktop appear, I see a
few windows appear, but the panels never show up. Compiz starts, and I can
rotate the desktop cube, but I never have access to the menus or tools on the
panel.
5) workaround. I can can right click on the desktop, and select "run command",
then type in "kwin --replace". Immediately, my panels appear, and compiz is
turned off.

I still prefer to use compiz over kwin, so I would appreciate if anyone
could tell me why panels are being blocked by compiz - or if I need to
change a setting somewhere to make it work.

(KDE compatibility is turned on in CCSM, although the KDE/QT event loop
integration is turned off.)

** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)

 Status: New

[Bug 851900] Re: Eucalyptus slow to startup with broken connections to :8443/register

2011-09-16 Thread James Page
Graziano

Any chance you can shed some light on the symptoms described in this bug
report?

Bug 851611 appears to be the same issue - it looks like certain clients
(including wget which is used in the upstart scripts and euca_conf) are
unable to negotiate SSL connections with the CLC.

Help much appreciated.

Thanks

[Bug 852054] [NEW] During installation process: Clicking "advanced partitioning tool" won't open partitioning tool

2011-09-16 Thread Philip Langer
Public bug reported:

When installing Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1 from Desktop Live CD (i386), the
link "advanced partitioning tool" [for more control...] in the
installation wizard doesn't open the partitioning tool. Instead, nothing
happens, which hinders users to change the partitioning settings before
installing Ubuntu Oneiric.

If you need more information, let me know.

[Bug 655512] Re: /dev/lirc0 disappeared after upgrade from 2.6.35-20 to -22

2011-09-16 Thread Jarod Wilson
If I'm thinking clearly, the 0.8.7-0ubuntu4.1 package has the requisite
ioctl patches to work just fine with the in-kernel lirc drivers. And
lirc_i2c is dead, its functionality is entirely replaced by the in-
kernel ir-kbd-i2c driver. And lirc-modules-source should not be used.
Ever. Its been removed from this distro.

[Bug 712324] Re: "Install" button sensitive for dependencies already queued for installation

2011-09-16 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
** Summary changed:

- already installed message and install button
+ "Install" button sensitive for dependencies already queued for installation

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: software-center
+ Ubuntu Software Center 4.1.23.2, Ubuntu 11.10 beta 1

- Problem:
- If a package A will be installed as a dependency of another package B, it is
still possible to click the "install" button on the package A. Then after a
while, a dialog will appear, that tells me that package A is already installed
and that "there isn't any need for an installation" which has to be acknowliged
with 'OK'.
+ 1. Search for python-django.
+ 2. Select python-django-websocket (which Depends on python-django), and
choose "Install".
+ 3. While it is installing, select python-django, and choose "Install".

- But there isn't any need for this dialog as well.
+ What happens:
+ * The "Install" button is sensitive.
+ * Once python-django-websocket finishes installing, the "Install" button
changes to "Remove".

- Fix:
- Several fixes are possible:
- 1) Don't show the dialog, since it will not change anything.
- 2.) Don't show the 'Install' button on packages that will be installed.
+ What should happen:
+ * The "Install" button is insensitive.
+
+ : "The
+ “Install” button should be insensitive if the item is currently
+ installing or queued for installation."

[Bug 849906] Re: Cannot connect to Cisco VPN through network-manager in Kubuntu 11.10

2011-09-16 Thread TheGhost
@ Mathieu: Due to the remaining issues I compared the debug of the vpn
connection which works fine under kde and that was created with the help
of gnome's nm. although both vpn connections have the same settings
under kde's network manager, the one created under gnome passes
additional parameters to vpnc:

Config: Debug 3
Config: Script /usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-vpnc-service-vpnc-helper
Config: Cisco UDP Encapsulation Port 0
Config: Local Port 0
Config: IKE DH Group dh2
Config: IPSec ID
Config: IPSec gateway **
Config: Xauth username *
Config: CA-File /home/123/deutsche-telekom-root-ca-2.pem
Config: IKE Authmode hybrid
Config: NAT Traversal Mode natt
Config: Xauth password *
Config: IPSec secret **

As you can see it uses Cisco Hybrid Authentication. But it seems that it
currently not supported to create new connetions with the plasma network
widget. But existing configurations do work fine. Sadly, I thought that
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=219118 and
https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/base/networkmanagement/repository/revisions/ad93e757a74a159e59bbb5d54c39b63b3224a7cc
finally introduced this feature into the gui. :( Or is there still some hope ?

[Bug 850309] Re: libvirt fails to autostart VM attached to a bridged port

2011-09-16 Thread Serge Hallyn
What we need is to have the static-network-up (plus subsequent fixes)
SRUd to lucid..natty, and to have libvirt-bin wait on static-network-up
rather than on 'stopped networking'.

@Robert,

as a workaround, I would suggest you change your /etc/init/libvirt-
bin.conf to add a 'sleep 5'.

So in place of

# If you used to set $libvirtd_opts in /etc/default/libvirt-bin,
# change the 'exec' line here instead.
exec /usr/sbin/libvirtd $libvirtd_opts

You would now have

# If you used to set $libvirtd_opts in /etc/default/libvirt-bin,
# change the 'exec' line here instead.
script
sleep 5
exec /usr/sbin/libvirtd $libvirtd_opts
end script

Will you update the bug when it is updated? Am very keen to have
Ubuntu Mono in Emacs. (Also, probably because I don't know the
internal process, I thought that "should be fixed by an update from
Dalton Maag" meant it *had* been updated.)

I followed the instructions that you gave me.
I join the error_log file and also a screenshot while trying to print a test
page with the proprietary driver with a wireless connection.

[Bug 850892] Re: orchestra-import-isos does not update

2011-09-16 Thread Andres Rodriguez
The only thing that comes into my mind right now is download the new
iso, mount it, then rsync it to the location where it lives whithing
cobbler, and then do cobbler sync.

Cobbler sync should re-create the hardlinks, as it puts the kernel and
initrd in a different location, which are used by the PXE file.

Other thing that comes into my mind is to:

1. Download new ISO
2. Import it with oneiric--
3. Change the child profile (-ensemble) to point to the parent profile above
(oneiric--)
4. Remove old profile

This way, we would point the -ensemble profile to the newly imported,
and then, once the old one is removed, then the systems wont be deleted
as the -ensemble profile will be pointing to the newer profile at the
time of deletion.

[Bug 850270] Re: Radiotray asks whether to use the notification area or an app indicator, on first run and when passed a command line parameter

2011-09-16 Thread valdur55
I found solution for `radiotray --resume` issue.
In Radiotray.py file is:
77 # chooser
78 if(url != None):
79 chooser = GuiChooserConfiguration()
80 gui_engine = chooser.run()
81 self.cfg_provider.setConfigValue("gui_engine", gui_engine)
82 url = None
83 # load gui
When you replace "if(url != None):" with "if(url != '--config'): " , then
radiotray URL and radiotray --resume will work nicely again.
