[Bug 929054] Re: AltGr key doesn't work properly in xfce4-terminal

2012-03-08 Thread Peter Belew
As of yesterday (2012-03-07), the situation is as follows:

Other layouts which use AltGr combinations work Ok. For example, French,
Portuguese,Brazilian,German, Croatian, any US-international layout using
AltGr, various UK/GB keyboards and so on. I can install any four of
those and switch between them and have them work.

However, if the Maori layout is installed with any 1, 2, or 3 of the
others, NONE of the layouts work properly with the AltGr key. This is
with all the xkb packages reinstalled for 12.04.

Earlier, I had tried installing the /usr/share/X11/xkb files with an
additional layout for Hawaiian in the rules/evdev.xml and symbols/us
files. This layout differs from the Maori layout only by the addition of
an ´okina (glottal stop) character on the single/double quote key of the
US layout. That worked well. I am not sure why the Maori layout has such
a problem.

[Bug 948938] Re: Mouse input (warp and clipping) broken in Wine 1.4rc6

2012-03-08 Thread Rocko
This program illustrates the problem, displaying a window and the output
results (to compile, use: gcc rawmotion.c -o rawmotion -lX11 -lXi).

In xserver 1.11, the raw_values it displays are relative and the
valuators.values are absolute. In xserver 1.10, the two streams are both
relative.

[Bug 930447] Re: Unable to Install Ubuntu 12.04 on Pentium M x86 Laptop due to PAE kernel

2012-03-08 Thread BubbaJ
David, thanks for taking the initiative to build the Live CD. It proves
the old adage, "necessity is the mother of invention". I took a look at
the LiveCD Customization page and it looked a little daunting to me. If
you were able to follow it without prior experience and were able to get
it to work, imagine what someone who had experience in building it could
achieve.

I guess it begs the question, how much of an inconvenience would it be
for the Ubuntu team to build two versions of the i386 CD (pae and non-
pae), and have both available for download from the Ubuntu daily build
download page. Is it really that difficult, or does it really create
that much of an extra burden to support?

[Bug 946589] Re: Xorg crashes in Precise with Dual Screens

2012-03-08 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
The idea is to try the mainline kernel to see if the bug is fixed there.
If it is, then yay! We can try and find out precisely what the fix was,
and apply it to the Precise kernel.

If it's not fixed in the mainline kernel, then we need to (a) tell
upstream that it's broken, and (b) help fix & test any solution.

Can this be addressed?

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Strangely enough, I seem to remember a time when UNR did actually work
with the webcam on my eeepc 701, but it may have been easypeasy.
anyhow, it doesnt work now in that cheese closes automatically when

checked the bios and the webcam is defiately enabled

this is what i get from cheese -v :

The program 'cheese' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 70 error_code 11 request_code 132 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I could play with this program but im hoping not to reinvent the wheel

[Bug 950491] [NEW] [HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia, playback] No sound at all

2012-03-08 Thread P J Reil
Public bug reported:

Cannot capture online streaming audio (NVIDIA graphics cards v173) after
upgrading to 11.10 64X from 32X. The card seems to be working fine in
other respects. I had been listening to audiobooks on line but can't
sunce the upgrade. In my searcj for remedies I have seen some others
refering to the same problem but have not founf any solutions.

"patrick@patrick-HP-Pavilion-dv6700-Notebook-PC:~$ 'apt-cache policy pkgname'
apt-cache policy pkgname: command not found"

I'm not sure if this is a bug. I'm new to Ubuntu and am a little lost.
Just looking for direction.

[Bug 903558] Re: Unable to boot 12.04 without 'noapic' flag enabled in GRUB

2012-03-08 Thread Brad Figg
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue.

However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during
any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all.
Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request
further testing. This is such a request.

We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel
than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test
again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still
exists or not.

You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the
following commands in a terminal window:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to
Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from
Incomplete to Fix Released.

If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add
a tag named: bot-stop-nagging.

Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it.

** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
   Status: Confirmed => Incomplete

** Tags added: kernel-request-3.2.0-18.28

[Bug 941695] Re: Broadcom BCM4313 random AP disconnects and network hang

2012-03-08 Thread Terry
I'm not sure if this will help with this issue but I came across this:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=787649
which is the exact same issue I'm having. There is a patch but nobody can
confirm it has been fixed. I've also had a go myself but it was a real pain to
find a working wireless stack that compiles and loads correctly. I'm not even
sure if I can add the patch from that bug report here? Is that the done thing?

Seems dead on the upstream front, I guess I'm one of very very few
people this happens to.

[Bug 950484] [NEW] Some Uyghur characters is missing in Arabic font

2012-03-08 Thread Gheyret T.Kenji
Public bug reported:

Dear Unity and Arabic font maintainer,

After changed Ubuntu Language to Uyghur, I found that some Uyghur characters
cannot display correctly.
I attached Unity Desktop screenshot.
This is critical problem for displaying Uyghur.
Because Uyghur is fully translated language in Ubuntu, and Uyghur is fully
supported in Unicode.
if needs I will help fixing this problem providing information for Uyghur.
I am native Uyghur.

Best Regards
Gheyret Kenji
