[Bug 624510] Re: Copying To USB Is Very Slow
Hi, I created a separate Lucid instance to test your changes. I put it on the external USB drive and then verified I could recreate the problem before I installed the kernel images you provided. I reran the hdparm command to check the read speeds. The results looked reasonable. I was getting approx 30MB/s. I then tested reading and writing from the external USB drive to the computer's internal hard drive and back again to the external USB drive. Those results too looked reasonable. I was getting approx 30 MB/s both ways. That sure makes moving GB size files less painful! Will I have to reinstall those kernel images you provided if Canonical pushes out another kernel update for Lucid or will your changes be present in any future kernel updates for Lucid? [Bug 956870] [NEW] growpart tickles overflow bug in klibc with big disks
Public bug reported: If the number of blocks in a disk is greater than the maximum size of a signed 32-bit integer then growpart will fail in the initramfs. [Bug 955934] Re: Cheese webcam app not recognise logitech cam C250
@ Vadim Rutkovsky (roignac) Thank you 1) I installed Ubuntu 12.04 beta1 and completed updates I used ubuntu software centre to install cheese webcam app I connected the usb of Logitech webcam C250 to the PC I started cheese webcam app. 2) I expected that when cheese app started, an animation should appear in the cheese window suggesting connection of cheese to the webcam and graphic data display starting, then almost immediately I expect a picture displayed from the web cam. 3) Cheese app started, and showed an empty, black, cheese window, with tabs greyed out. There was no progress animation indication of webcam connection, and there was no cam picture. Comment: This webcam otherwise works with other apps in this machine and with this ubuntu, as mentioned in notes above earlier. The webcam also works normally using the camorama webcam viewer app. However it does not work using cheese app. Background information: bug #886954 was raised when I believed the problem was wider than just cheese, and tests, including upstream kernel tests were done there. [Bug 377179] Re: Implement pdebuild-dist
I would like to have this, too. I have tried using pbuilder-dist as pbuilder for pdebuild, but that fails: % pdebuild --pbuilder pbuilder-precise --pbuilderroot sudo -u $USER pbuilder-precise: Warning: Running under sudo. This is probably not what you want. pbuilder-dist will use sudo itself, when necessary. pbuilder-precise: Error: --build is not a recognized argument. [Bug 956853] Re: DVB-T card randomly stops working
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected running-unity ** Description changed: I have a Nova-T-500 configured with tvheadend. If I set idle scanning in tvheadend, it will crash at some point (it can be 20 hours later). Disabling idle scanning seems to solve the problem. However idle scanning is useful, because without it sometimes some channels can't be read (maybe because of bad reception, I don't know). Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that there is a problem with the disk to which you are trying to install Ubuntu. I'd recommend performing a back up of your existing operating system and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections for your disks and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. [Bug 919437] Re: Lost window, cannot get it back.
I'm using 2 worskpaces (vsize = 1, hsize=2) and tried what comment #2 said. On the very first try I lost my window towards the bottom of the screen in the left desktop. I enabled 2x2 and I found it in the 3rd workspace (lower left that I never had enabled before). I can replicate it every single time I try. 1) Put 2 worskpaces (vsize = 1, hsize=2) and the grid plugin active. 2) Move a terminal to the left end to the screen so the grid plugin changes it reshapes it to the left half of the screen. 3) Put the cursor in the center of the terminal windows (vertical and horizontal center). 4) ALT + CLICK and move the cursor down. 5) The window unsnaps about where I have the cursor but 1 full workspace/screen down. 6) Enable 2x2 to recover it. I tested this because I thought it was related to an issue I had with the wall/move plugin. When I enable edge flipping move on wall and move windows between workspaces the windows appears several inches away from the grab point (grab hand cursor is several inches away from where I grabbed the window before dragging it to another workspace). One time the windows I assume appeared so far away from where I grabbed it that it disappeared. It probably entered a different workspace too. In both cases the window appears several inches away from the grab point since when I did what comment #2, I grabbed a snapped terminal near the middle and when it unsnapped it appeared so much below where I grabbed it that it appeared in workspace #3. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/919437 Title: Lost window, cannot get it back. [Bug 946742] Re: Shotwell crashes on start with gstreamer0.10-vaapi
Yup, still valid. I've never even had intel-vaapi-driver installed since I'm using an Nvidia card with VDPAU. But VA-API is supposed to work with VDPAU as a backend using the vdpau-va-driver. And it does sort of work when using VLC and libav (still relatively high CPU usage), so I decided to try it with gstreamer codecs as well. But the I ran into this bug. Thanks for checking up on this. [Bug 956899] [NEW] Regression: firefox bookmarks not imported anymore

I also tryied to build again today an image with the 0.1.4 package and it's still affected, so it's doesn't seems related to the package content.
