[Bug 847305] Re: Kernel Oops - BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000018; RIP: 0010:[] [] nameidata_to_filp+0x3a/0x80

2012-03-23 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Nuno Sucena Almeida, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach
updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be
great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be
done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the
bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.
Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

** Summary changed:

[Bug 963639] Re: Sync flumotion 0.10.0-1 (universe) from Debian sid (main)

2012-03-23 Thread Bhavani Shankar
Hi Vaibhav,

Since we are past feature freeze for the upcoming release i.e precise,
This being a new upstream version would require explanation in the sync
request that if its a bugfix release(if not explicitly present in the
changelog of the package) or else it requires a Feature Freeze exception
as described in detail here:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess

Regards
Bhavani

[Bug 268946] Re: gpg-encrypted files have no icon

Bart,

The regular icons for Seahorse ARE still installed with Seahorse. Not
sure if they're installed with 'seahorse-utils' or not, but they _are_
in the source package. Also, are there any icon proposals as of yet?

[Bug 787577] Re: Poor power management in Natty kernel

2012-03-23 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Paul J. Adams, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? As per
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/PowerManagementASPM a patch has been issued to
address poor power management. Could you please try with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach
updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be
great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be
done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the
bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.
Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 963700] [NEW] unity 5.8 fails to load upon login

2012-03-23 Thread Daniel Told
Public bug reported:

When trying to log in after the update to unity 5.8, the system locks up
either on the login screen, or just shows the wallpaper without the
panel or launcher. I can still move the mouse, but there is no response
to any clicking. The only solution for me was to go to the alt+ctrl+F1
terminal and restart the system. Unity2D seems to work fine. Attached is
a (hopefully helpful) log of unity during its startup.

[Bug 963696] [NEW] ubuntu template should enable security pocket

2012-03-23 Thread Clint Byrum
Public bug reported:

I noticed today that my lxc containers for oneiric did not have the

Re: [Bug 944161] Re: orca does not read user names

2012-03-23 Thread Attila Hammer
Hy,

I installed all upgrades my Precise system, I experiencing following now:
If Unity Greeter launched and Orca loaded, the first selected user
password entry field are focused I think, but Orca doesn't spokening
this. If I press TAB and Shift+TAB keys, Orca spokening "type actual
user password", for example:
"Type Attila Hammer password".
If I press TAB and SHIFT+TAB keys and begin typing my password, Orca
spokening asterisk simbols, not letters.
If I not press Tab and Shift+TAB keys and typing password for my actual
selected user name, the password is typed, but Orca spokening password
characters, not asterisk simbol.

Following positive change are happened:
If Unity Greeter launched and Orca loaded and I press Up or Down arrow
keys, the selected usernames spokening Orca with following form:
"Give Attila Hammer password"
Give Alan Bell password"
If I begin typing this situation my password, Orca spokening asterisk
simbols, not normal characters.
This is the right working method with LightDm user list function?

Attila

2012-03-23 Thread bwat47
Same exact problem here. It just selects the application. Releasing
super + tab has no effect. To get it to actually switch to the
highlighted application I have to tap super again which brings up the
dash and the application. I had also recorded a video showing the same
behavior as Nekhelesh had.

est-ce qu'il faut faire un nouveau rapport de bug ?

[Bug 768859] Re: thinkpad_acpi: WARNING: Outdated ThinkPad BIOS/EC firmware

2012-03-23 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Jesper Morsing, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu
better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? As per
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&DocID=HT072385
your BIOS is fully updated. Hence this could be a mistake of the code check
for your model. However, it would be nice to know if this oops is reproducible
in updated kernels. Could you please try with the latest development release of
Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

Thanks in advance.

goes looking for plugins (if available).

[Bug 952574] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 beta 1 won't boot off USB key with NVidia GTX 560

2012-03-23 Thread David Barri
Still haven't got this working but here is some more information I've
discovered.

GeForce GTX 560 code name = NVCE (GF114)

NVC0 family: These cards are generally working with the latest kernel
and Mesa but may still have power management issues. It is recommended
to use the Linux 3.1 kernel or newer (or a backported driver from this
kernel).

NVC0 is supposed to be currently working with nouveau drivers.

It seems that a firmware file (?) might be required but from Linux 3.1 onwards
it can be generated automatically.

[Bug 779520] Re: Natty Narwahl: Using Google Chrome with Google Maps - Kernel Panic

2012-03-23 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Phil Fitzsimons, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu

Thanks in advance.
