[Bug 982534] Re: Please remove wesnoth-1.8 from precise
One reason is that people can finish their campaigns that they started in 1.8 before they do the upgrade to 1.10 - but still can upgrade their ubuntu system without troubles. Also, the 1.8 stable tree is still supported upstream, some people are still playing it, and it is not possible to play multiplayer games with different stable versions, so having only 1.10 in precise would force others to upgrade too, to continue to be able to play with you. Personally, I am fine with either: precise will be a LTS release, and 1.8 will probably be phased out upstream before precise reaches end of life. I'm fine with whatever gets decided here. I am uncertain myself, otherwise I would have done the decision already. :) So long, Rhonda -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982534 Title: Please remove wesnoth-1.8 from precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wesnoth-1.8/+bug/982534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 982478] Re: New USB webcam device id to be listed in gspca pac7302
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue. However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request. We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not. You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released. If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add a tag named: bot-stop-nagging. Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Tags added: kernel-request-3.2.0-23.36 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982478 Title: New USB webcam device id to be listed in gspca pac7302 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/982478/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

So many bugs,From 11.10 i upgraded to 12.04,11.10 worked seamlessly and never troubled me but i don't why 12.04 always shows error codes ubuntu found some errors or 12.04 ubuntu system files have error,or sudden freezes softwares crashing, every day i have to send some 4-5 times of crash reports. I know its still beta version but hey its almost 12 days for the complete release and this package of ubuntu is LTS package and honestly its not delivering the goods.I thought it would be different and faster then the older version, their's nothing new though except some or very few changes.I update daily but still problem persists.I hope ubuntu figures it out quickly coz they normally do they are 1 of the best in that. And i would also request to the ubuntu developers to release some more themes for desktop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/707990 Title: update-manager crashed with DBusException in _convert_dbus_exception(): org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. [Bug 982890] [NEW] Constant Audio Hiss - driving me out of my mind
Public bug reported: I just upgraded Unbutu from 10.1 (i think this is correct) to 10.4 to 11.10. My audio has been working for years. However after upgrading to 11.10 I get a constant hiss out of the speakers. I tried everything I can think of short of a fresh install. There seems to be a number of people with the same problem. If is all it would take to fix this is a new card I would do that but I dont know of a really compatiable sound card. apt-cache policy pkgname - N: Unable to locate package pkgname My system is uses GeForce 9400 GT/PCIe/SSE2 and onboard audio. aplay --list-devices List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC662 rev1 Analog [ALC662 rev1 Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: ALC662 rev1 Digital [ALC662 rev1 Digital] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Why aplay --list-devices gives two identical results is puzzling to me. Another strange thing that I found is alsamixer comes up for the most part garbled. I can email someone a screen shot if they like. What I can see from the the top of the AlsaMixer screen (coppied from the terminal): AlsaMixer v1.0.24.2 q Card: HDA Intel F1: Help Chip: Realtek ALC662 rev1 F2: System information View: F3:[Playback] F4: Capture F5: All F6: Select sound card Item: Master [dB gain: -15.00] Im sure that somewhere along the line it must be my fault but I dont know what else to do. The hiss is almost like listening to someone scratching a chalkboard; at least I can trun on the mute and it stops. The sound is present no matter what sould level I change it to. Another strange effect is that when I do adjust the sound level it goes through a series of up and down pitches. I can still hear audio play but it is overlayed by the hiss. I also tried moving my cables around (testing for interference) and tried diffrent headphones but they all produce the same effect. So please let me know what other information you might need. Thanks for all your hard work! ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982890 Title: Constant Audio Hiss - driving me out of my mind To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/982890/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 916568] Re: Multiple focus problems on first connexion
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected precise ubuntu ** Description changed: Hello, [EDIT] Unlike what I thought, the problem is probably not related to compiz: I get the same type of problem under Unity2D[/EDIT] [EDIT] and gnome-shell[/EDIT] [EDIT2] and openbox too... [/EDIT2] The bug appears in my 11.10 system with the last update of compiz (i.e. 01-05-2012). At the first connection after the boot, I face many problems with the focus on the interface: I can generally use the Unity-dash to launch an application (sometimes two) but then the dash no longer appears correctly, the indicators either, I can not focus from one window to another ... However, I noticed that the keyboard shortcuts usually work. So I find myself stuck. The only workaround I've found is to launch a system-Alt-k and then reconnect. Here the problem doesn't reproduce until next boot. I made a video showing the expected behavior (after reconnection) and the behavior that I get on startup: http://ubuntuone.com/5tD98knn0gNXPofcknz285 The audio comment is in French, but I was unable to do this in English ... - I hope this report will be useful ... If information is needed about my - configuration, I can complete it later. + I hope this report will be useful ... Lid close works in the side double boot Windows --- ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: i386 CheckboxSubmission: ac665960bd595003e408fa25f6066d31 CheckboxSystem: 331fbefb4b1f6727f4a8261fee7507c9 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release i386 (20101007) Package: pm-utils 1.4.1-8ubuntu1 PackageArchitecture: all Tags: oneiric Uname: Linux 3.3.0-030300-generic i686 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oneiric on 2011-11-12 (155 days ago) UserGroups: + --- + ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 + Architecture: i386 + CheckboxSubmission: ac665960bd595003e408fa25f6066d31 + CheckboxSystem: 331fbefb4b1f6727f4a8261fee7507c9 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release i386 (20101007) + Package: gnome-power-manager 3.2.1-0ubuntu1 + PackageArchitecture: i386 + Tags: oneiric + Uname: Linux 3.3.0-030300-generic i686 + UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oneiric on 2011-11-12 (155 days ago) + UserGroups: ** Attachment added: Dependencies.txt https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982179/+attachment/3076141/+files/Dependencies.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982179 Title: /proc/acpi/button/lid/*/state always says closed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/982179/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I guess it is just a new system that automatically wants you to report bugs at each crash, whereas before the crash would just happen silently. This is good if more bugs get caught, but the number of bugs causing this should be low before the official release. Also there is an option for this function to be silent for new bugs in the same package version of an application, but it seems not to apply to system crashes.
