[Bug 528584] Re: show notification when software is installed if software center is closed before installation finishes
This is partially fixed in 12.04 beta: the launcher icon of the new app has a progress bar, and wiggles when it is finished installing. But if "new applications in launcher" is unticked in USC, there is no sign that the installation is finished if USC is closed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/528584 Title: show notification when software is installed if software center is closed before installation finishes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/528584/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Almufadado, could you please test the latest ubuntu release, e.g. daily live ISO? And what is the charset encoding for the tags in your mp3 files. [Bug 871808] Re: Asus N55SF/N75SF - External subwoofer not working
So, if you want automatic LFE remixing, that should be possible through PulseAudio: First, add a new profile for 2.1 by adding this section to /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/profile-sets/default.conf: [Mapping analog-surround-21] # Note that the line below should NOT be changed to surround21. device-strings = surround40:%f channel-map = front-left,front-right,lfe,lfe paths-output = analog-output analog-output-speaker priority = 7 direction = output Second, make sure this line is present in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf: enable-lfe-remixing = yes Then restart pulseaudio (run "pulseaudio -k" in a terminal), then select the new profile in the sound settings. [Bug 979498] Re: Critical: Natty kernel hangs in xlog_grant_log_space
I finally managed to create a reproducer for the XFS hang but the provided kernel does not solve the problem. It hangs within a few seconds, just like the original 2.6.38-8-server kernel. I also tried the following Ubuntu kernels but they both hang within a few minutes. Do run a little longer than 2.6.38-8 and -14 though. 3.0.0-17-server 3.2.0-23-lowlatency Next I tried the upstream stable kernels but they also hang within an hour: 3.0.29 3.1.10 3.2.15 3.3.2 A typical stacktrace is attached. Once the task is hanging, the directory or partition becomes unusable and only an emergency sync clear things up again. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 987634] [NEW] unconditional use of SSE3 instructions
Public bug reported: DevIL's 1.7.8 ./configure script enables SSE, SSE2 and SSE3 instructions if supported by the compiler and unless such instructions are explicitly disabled by --disable-sse3 etc. There is not run-time check for CPU support when using these instructions - in fact it adds the -msse3 compiler option. SSE3 is not universally supported in 32-bit x86 CPUs and using affected functions such as ilConvertImage() may result in the application being terminated with the SIGILL signal on such CPUs. This bug is present in Debian's devil 1.7.8-6 which is used unmodified in lucid and maverick. There is an 1 year old upstream bug report at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=572954 The bug is also present in natty (1.7.8-6build1), oneiric (1.7.8-6build2) and precise (1.7.8-6.1ubuntu1) Re-building DevIL without SSE3 support fixes this bug. There is also an upstream DevIL bug report at https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3520344&group_id=4470&atid=104470 This bug is also found in many other Linux distributions' DevIL packages. Other things that would save us: 1) Any way to disable this regression from configuration files or the like. [Bug 987622] Re: Continuation of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/390959
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue. However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request. We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not. You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released. If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add a tag named: bot-stop-nagging. Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Tags added: kernel-request-3.2.0-23.36 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987622 Title: Continuation of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/390959 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/987622/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 726832]
I think this was discussed recently on the mailing list - maybe in your holidays - synaptics somehow adjusts itself to the display geometry, IIRC. (In reply to comment #11) > I think this was discussed recently on the mailing list - maybe in your > holidays - synaptics somehow adjusts itself to the display geometry, IIRC. the driver itself has no knowledge of the display size, I think it's just the only driver that triggers it. some combination of setups, possibly the absolute axis ranges but relative events being sent. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/726832 Title: Touchpad speed scales with multimonitor size per axis To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-driver-synaptics/+bug/726832/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
