I second that, but for me, the new tab fix doesn't work. However, you
could do:

gtk-window-decorator --replace

in a terminal if you need to.

[Bug 982771] Re: Scrolling stops working in GTK3 scrolled windows after some time

2012-04-24 Thread Argyris
I'm in the same boat as palimmo. I've been using the /bin directory as
my standard test, and 0ubuntu5.1 hasn't frozen yet (after about ten
minutes testing), though the bar does seem to "stick" sometimes when I
flick my fingers and let the scrolling coast. This might be a CPU issue
(I'm on integrated graphics, so no appreciable acceleration), but I
don't remember it doing that in 0ubuntu5--maybe this is a side-effect of
the fix? If so, it's preferable to bars that freeze at any rate.

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

Since upgrading from ubuntu 10.04 to ubuntu 12.04 the eject command
sometimes fails to eject the drive:

  michael@quad:~/download$ eject
eject: unable to eject, last error: Inappropriate ioctl for device

This happens when there is no medium in the drive.
Expected behaviour would be to open the drive so that a medium can be
inserted.

Sometimes this also happens with a medium in the drive.
In this case pressing "Eject" at the drive ejects the medium, thus the medium
in the drive was not locked.

dmesg does not show any errors when eject failed.

[Bug 987915] Re: Man page doesn't reflect major architectural changes w/ resolvconf

2012-04-24 Thread Clint Byrum
Wouldn't it make sense though to mention commonly used options and/or
plugins in the SEE ALSO section of 'man interfaces'? Or perhaps be more
vague in SEE ALSO 'Plugins may add options such as dns-* and such,
please see {directory X} for a list of plugins you have installed.'

  * New upstream release:
- Fixed a bug that caused freezes and crashes when resizing

Login operation happening about 19 second later when I press ENTER key after I
typed my password, without battery this is maximum 4 second.
Prewious founded sudo killall upowerd suggestion not help, because upowerd
process started again.
Unable to remove this package, because depending too many system components.
I tryed remove the indicator-power package, but this is not help.
If anybody known a good workaround until this bug is not fixed, I welcome
trying, because I need very often my netbook using with battery when I

[Bug 986269] Re: Unable to open a folder for 10 GB Filesystem", "No application is registered as handling this file... Nautilus pops browser on bash partition mount

2012-04-24 Thread bcbc
I think this is a Unity action, not Nautilus

** Package changed: nautilus (Ubuntu) => unity

** Summary changed:

- Unable to open a folder for 10 GB Filesystem", "No application is registered
as handling this file... Nautilus pops browser on bash partition mount
+ Unable to open a folder for 10 GB Filesystem", "No application is registered
as handling this file... or Nautilus pops browser when partition is mounted in
bash script

** Description changed:

I first noticed this behaviour in Ubuntu 11.10. When I run my bash
script that mounts partitions on my hard drive (e.g /dev/sda5), Nautilus
pops up with a browser window. This is an illogical action, since I've
not 'inserted a drive', it's already there, and it's just been manually
mounted. This Nautilus action will interfere with the scripts operation
since, when the script tries to unmount the drive (rapidly) it finds
that Nautilus is still busy with it, producing it's browser window.

If I run chmod 700 on the mountpoint prior to mounting (root only
access), then I get a popup message stating: "Unable to open a folder
for 10 GB Filesystem", "No application is registered as handling this
file". This is because the mountpoint is not accessible to the logged in
  user.

You wouldn't expect this if you mount a partition from the terminal -
and for the most part this is correct (Nautilus does nothing), but not
all the time. I've managed to trigger Nautilus to pop just with a simple
  terminal mount.

I have a workaround in my bash script that creates a udev rule and runs
udevadm trigger to hide the partition, but this seems extreme. I believe
- it's a bug in Nautilus in how it responds to the signal that a partition
- has been mounted.
+ it's a bug in Unity(?) (maybe Nautilus?) in how it responds to the
+ signal that a partition has been mounted.

Please see this for complete details and discussion of possible
solutions (and the bash script code):
  http://askubuntu.com/questions/121569/prevent-nautilus-showing-
  partition-mounted-in-bash-script

I understand you can prevent Nautilus responding to inserted drives
etc., but this is definitely not the case here - the drive is already
there, just the partition is being mounted.

[Bug 988177] [NEW] the Mantis package links to an outdated nusoap lib that breaks the soap api

2012-04-24 Thread Vincent Vandenschrick
Public bug reported:

Upgrading to the latest 1.2.10-1 package, it seems it now links to the
libnusoap-php which is 0.7.3 version. I suppose that previously, the package
used its own nusoap lib that was newer since the timstamp formatting in the
Mantis soap API has changed. It now uses an old formatting that (although
legal) breaks Mantis soap clients like Mantis Mylyn connector.
Upgrading the libnusoap-php to 0.9.5 using the experimental package solves the
problem by reverting back the format to the newest one.
For further details, see

[Bug 767975] Re: Video does not return after sleep with AMD E-350 Fusion APU and ATI closed driver (Natty Narwal Beta)

2012-04-24 Thread Jose Bernardo
Correction - Now I've been able to resume from "deep sleep" a few times, and
I've had a hang on resume when resuming from a "light" suspend. The only
difference is that when it hangs after a "deep sleep", I need to take the
battery out to be able to use the netbook again, as it will stay in the hang
(wifi and on led on) when I power it on otherwise.
I don't know what else to do to trace this. "acpi_sleep=s3_bios" fixes the
resume most times, but there are still some ocasions (I'd say one in ten) where
it will hang.
Any ideas?

[Bug 986269] Re: Unable to open a folder for 10 GB Filesystem", "No application is registered as handling this file... Nautilus pops browser on bash partition mount

2012-04-24 Thread bcbc
** Summary changed:

- Nautilus pops browser on bash partition mount
+ Unable to open a folder for 10 GB Filesystem", "No application is registered
as handling this file... Nautilus pops browser on bash partition mount

+
+ If I run chmod 700 on the mountpoint prior to mounting (root only
+ access), then I get a popup message stating: "Unable to open a folder
+ for 10 GB Filesystem", "No application is registered as handling this
+ file". This is because the mountpoint is not accessible to the logged in
+ user.

I believe
it's a bug in Nautilus in how it responds to the signal that a partition
  has been mounted.

[Bug 988173] [NEW] maas-import-isos fails

2012-04-24 Thread Dan McGrath
Public bug reported:

After several attempts to try "sudo maas-import-isos" (from the
instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ServerTeam/MAAS), I keep getting
errors about proxying:

"httpd does not appear to be running and proxying clobber"

It seems to download everything just fine, but for whatever reason it
fails to actually save or install (or cache) the files, forcing me
through multiple hour long+ attempts at 50k/s :(

A quick glance at the process list does show apache and squid running,
however. This is an install from the 12.04 server beta 2 iso
(ubuntu-12.04-beta2-server-i386.iso). Should I have done anything beyond
telling it to install maas and apt-get updating the server? Also, I
didn't select any tasks during the installer.

2012-04-24 Thread Didier Roche
See my comment on the merge request. I disagree that it should go to a
SRU on the bases of one device. also the value was already discussed in
length with John and Jason for hours during the cycle to get to a good
compromise. This shouldn't be changed under user's feet right now.
