[Bug 996596] [NEW] Can't open formatted html files with extension xls in Libreoffice 3.5.3
Public bug reported: Yesterday I made an updated using the PPA repo in Ubuntu 10.04 of LibreOffice 3.5.2 to 3.5.3, then some files with XLS extensions don't open normally. When I tried to open the xls file I got a wizard to import text to file. I use this PPA https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ppa/+packages But, in this moment I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, so I had installed LibreOffice 3.5.2 and the files that I mentioned was fine, but using the proposed repo and updating to 3.5.3 when I tried to open the file also show me an import dialog. So this is a regression. There is also a bug report in LibreOffice upstream that need more info, the file attached there works to make the test: Bug report: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4623 Test FIle: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=57213 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: libreoffice-calc 1:3.5.3-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.37-generic 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue May 8 10:22:47 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Alpha amd64 (20120306) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=es_CO:es TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=es_CO.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: libreoffice UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: df-libreoffice Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug libreoffice precise regression -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996596 Title: Can't open formatted html files with extension xls in Libreoffice 3.5.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/996596/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 989793] Re: [nouveaufb, efifb] blank screen on startup, "Visual is FB_VISUAL_TRUECOLOR; not using graphics"
I am pretty certain this PC (circa 2007) does not support EFI boot. The service manual does not mention it, and as far I can find out, only some Power Edge models have this. [Bug 388656] Re: Non-intuitive term "Move to trash"
I agree with Todd. When you want to delete something you don't expect to want it back - otherwise you'd move it somewhere specific or rename it - when you delete an item, you want rid of it (even if your future self might want it back!). Also, isn't there an inconsistency with hitting the "Delete" button on the keyboard to move an item into the trash but having to select "Move to trash" from the menu? Finally, I think that the concept that you can get your deleted files back out of the waste basket is pretty well known (even by inexperienced users) because the recycle bin / trash folder has been around for so long so why inconvenience the 99% that do understand this principle to maybe educate the 1% that don't. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388656 Title: Non-intuitive term "Move to trash" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/388656/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 996589] [NEW] lightdm doesn't provide visual feedback for accepted password
Public bug reported: Since I installed ubuntu precise I noticed that when you enter a valid password for your user account, lightdm simply freezes until the desktop session is fully loaded. This, at first, made me think that my computer crashed while loading the session... This behaviour is very similar to that when the password is incorrect, but the "wrong password" message takes less time to appear than the desktop. If I'm not confusing things, I'm pretty sure that in early versions the dots that override password characters disappeared when you typed in the correct password, and stayed there when the password was wrong. This was a simple but effective visual feedback... Now, we (or at least I) keep asking ourselves whether we entered the correct password or not until something tells us which one happened, after several seconds. [Bug 995054] Re: thunderbird loses langpacks after upgrade
The problem is worse than what I described above: the thunderbird- locale-fr is correctly installed, but Thunderbird does not seem to see it. [Bug 996188] Re: Gparted Hosed my USB Thumb Drive
I'm afraid your description is too vague to give a meaningful response. If you did zero the whole disk, then it no longer has a partition table, which is why it shows up as unpartitioned. You will need to create a partition table ( disklabel ) and then you should be able to create a new partition and format it with a filesystem. It sounds like you may have used fdisk to create a partition and not formatted it with a filesystem, which would cause gparted to show the partition type as unknown. When reporting bugs, it is important to describe in detail, what you did, what happened, and what you expected to happen instead. ** Changed in: gparted (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996188 Title: Gparted Hosed my USB Thumb Drive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gparted/+bug/996188/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
