Running the following command gave more information about the problem: /etc/init.d/activemq console main Starting with Console ActiveMQ instance : mainINFO: Loading '/etc/activemq /instances-enabled/main/options' INFO: Using java '/usr/bin/java' INFO: Starting in foreground, this is just for debugging purposes (stop process by pressing CTRL+C) ERROR: '/usr/share/activemq/bin/run.jar' does not exist Upon inspection the file "/usr/share/activemq/bin/run.jar" is a symlink pointing to "/usr/share/java/activemq-run.jar" which does not exist. Activemq ran fine on my previous i386 Wheezy installation, which I replaced March 30th by this AMD64 installation. I only now got to installing ActiveMQ again. [Bug 1005403] [NEW] Brasero is a mess, does not burn properly, fails and can't eject??
Public bug reported: Brasero is a total mess, it doesn't work. After it makes me wait forever to burn a disk it says its !00% done, it then states that an error occured while burning and some file smay be corrupted...which of course they are. It has cost me at leat 20-30 dvd's so far. On top of that it can't even eject a dvd? The eject issue happens EVERYTIME I burn something and the error message happens about 80-90% of the time. [Bug 842706] Re: Search field clear button doesn't wait till mouse up
I looked into this some tonight, and I found that in softwarecenter/ui/gtk3/widgets/searchentry.py the signal being used is icon-press [1]: self.connect("icon-press", self._on_icon_pressed) I tried switching it to icon-release, but it looks like this signal still fires if you do the release with the mouse off of the icon, meaning that it doesn't solve the original problem. (Although it does delay the action until mouse release) I poked around the docs some more, but it seems to me that if Gtk doesn't solve this for you it's going to be a pain to fix. I think you'd have to know where the mouse was relative to the position of the icon when it was clicked. If someone who knows Gtk more than I do (which isn't much) has a better plan, please comment here and I'll try it. [Bug 937710] Re: [SRU] VisualVM does not start with openjdk 7
** Description changed: SRU Request for precise SRU Justification ### [Impact] jvisualvm is currently unable to start in Precise when using OpenJDK 7. [Development Fix] Fixed in lp:~kroq-gar78/ubuntu/precise/visualvm/fix-start revno 16 (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kroq-gar78/ubuntu/precise/visualvm/fix-start/revision/16) along with bug 1004370 (they are _very_ similar in nature) by adding a 'java-7-openjdk-$ARCH' path, where $ARCH=`dpkg --print-architecture`. Because I fixed it in conjunction with bug 1004370, I also added "-$ARCH" to the end of the 'java-6-openjdk' path. [Stable Fix] To do this after the package has been installed, edit the file /usr/bin/jvisualvm and include the same fix, following this diff: @@ -8,9 +8,10 @@ - progdir=/usr/bin - APPNAME=visualvm - BASEDIR=/usr/lib/visualvm + progdir=/usr/bin + APPNAME=visualvm + BASEDIR=/usr/lib/visualvm +ARCH=`dpkg --print-architecture` - jdkhome= + jdkhome= -for j in /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun; do +for j in /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-$ARCH; do - if [ -x $j/bin/javac ]; then - jdkhome=$j - break + if [ -x $j/bin/javac ]; then + jdkhome=$j + break Since /usr/bin/jvisualvm is the same file as debian/jvisualvm in the package source, the file can be edited exactly as it was edited in the Bazaar branch above. [Test Case] 1) Install the package 'visualvm' 2) Make sure openjdk-6-jre nor openjdk-6-jdk are installed - 2) Run 'jvisualvm' from a terminal + 3) Run 'jvisualvm' from a terminal With the version in Precise, it will error out with: No jdkhome found. [Regression Potential] The potential for regression is extremely low because running the program isn't currently possible with OpenJDK 7. ### visualvm 1.3.2-0ubuntu2 running on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/937710 Title: [SRU] VisualVM does not start with openjdk 7 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/visualvm/+bug/937710/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
