Re: [Bug 441835]
One workaround is using this command (as normal user) udisks --mount /dev/fd0 to mount a floppy, then it can be safely detached via GUI (e.g. in nautilus, right click the floppy icon...). [Bug 984970] Re: Audacity and Inkscape are in the video production menu
So, how is a the menu helping anyone if this is the case? let's say the user is a video person (not an audio person and therefore lacks relevant experience or knowledge about linux audio applications) and this user knows they need to edit audio for their podcast. i think having audacity in the video menu is invaluable because it says in the tool tip that it is used to edit audio. otherwise, they look at all the applications in the audio menus and probably get overwhelmed by the shear number of applications, although the sub-menus have most likely helped this enormously. the first place to start is to create workflow documentation i would say that the documentation exists in an unfinished state in wiki.ubuntu.com, but i agree it should made prettier, finished, and put either on help.ubuntu.com or the ubuntu studio website. while i agree the documentation should be available to a user, i'm not sure that this needs to be THE primary source for a person who knows the work flow but doesn't know what application has been included for that task. having audacity in the video menu is that visual and immediate cue. i would like to point out that audacity has _not_ been removed from the audio menu in preference for the video menu. only those people who go to the video menu will notice that audacity is there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/984970 Title: Audacity and Inkscape are in the video production menu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntustudio-default-settings/+bug/984970/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1030845] Re: Not work: 01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 13)
Hi Cristian, This may be a wild guess, but there's a fix on upstream kernel (commit d663d181b9e92d80c2455e460e932d34e7a2a7ae sky2: Fix for interrupt handler), which fixes interrupt handling on Yukon-2 chip. I had just rebooted the server for a kernel update and was trying to ssh back in. It failed with a network unreachable error which was totally misleading. The issue was that the server was slow to come up and was not listening on port 22 yet. The error message should have been connection refused. During the period when I was waiting, if I used ssh directly to the IPv4 address, I (correctly) got connection refused. When I ssh'd to the IPv6 address I (also correctly) got network unreachable since there is no IPv6 connectivity other than link-local on the network the ssh client was connecting from. it looks like what ssh is doing in the case of a host with dual A/ records is looking them both up, trying both connections, and if the case of both failing, it's returning the IPv6 error message. In this case it was quite confusing as there's no indication it's an IPv6 connection the message is about. I was trying to figure out how I could ping the server and at the same time have the network be unreachable. It would be better if, in the case of two errors, network unreachable is only handed back to the user if no other error (such as connection refused) does not indicate that the network was reachable and a connection to the remote server made at some level. [Bug 1030324] Re: package libpam-modules 1.1.3-7ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: problème de pré-dépendance - libpam-modules non installé
Thanks for sending the log. Unfortunately, it still only shows this: Preparing to replace libpam-modules 1.1.3-2ubuntu2.1 (using .../libpam-modules_1.1.3-7ubuntu2_i386.deb) ... Unpacking replacement libpam-modules ... Processing triggers for man-db ... Setting up libpam-modules (1.1.3-7ubuntu2) ... So the libpam-modules package is being set up normally. At this point, I have no guesses as to why apport reported this issue. I'll leave this bug open in case more information becomes available; but it looks like your system is correctly configured now, so there probably won't be any more information. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1030324 Title: package libpam-modules 1.1.3-7ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: problème de pré-dépendance - libpam-modules non installé To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pam/+bug/1030324/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hello Hauke, or anyone else affected, Accepted postfix into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/2.9.3-2~12.04.2 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please change the bug tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not, change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. [Bug 886896] Re: kernel freeze when logging out
Qoquaq, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please capture the oops following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies#Capturing_OOPs ? As well, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please do not test the kernel in the daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. As well, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream', and comment as to why specifically you were unable to test it. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. After applying the patch in bug #1017765 into /usr directly like I did with nova and keystone, I get a bit farther, and now see the following traceback: - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] Internal Server Error: / - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] Traceback (most recent call last): - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/core/handlers/base.py, line 89, in get_response - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] response = middleware_method(request) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/middleware/locale.py, line 21, in process_request - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] check_path = self.is_language_prefix_patterns_used() - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/middleware/locale.py, line 54, in is_language_prefix_patterns_used - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] for url_pattern in get_resolver(None).url_patterns: - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/core/urlresolvers.py, line 328, in url_patterns - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] patterns = getattr(self.urlconf_module, urlpatterns, self.urlconf_module) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/core/urlresolvers.py, line 323, in urlconf_module - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] self._urlconf_module = import_module(self.urlconf_name) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/utils/importlib.py, line 35, in import_module - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] __import__(name) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] File /usr/share/openstack-dashboard/openstack_dashboard/wsgi/../../openstack_dashboard/urls.py, line 35, in module - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] url(r'', include(horizon.urls))) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'urls' - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] mod_wsgi (pid=3672): Exception occurred processing WSGI script '/usr/share/openstack-dashboard/openstack_dashboard/wsgi/django.wsgi'. - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] Traceback (most recent call last): - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/core/handlers/wsgi.py, line 241, in __call__ - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] response = self.get_response(request) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/core/handlers/base.py, line 179, in get_response - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] response = self.handle_uncaught_exception(request, resolver, sys.exc_info()) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/core/handlers/base.py, line 224, in handle_uncaught_exception - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] if resolver.urlconf_module is None: - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/core/urlresolvers.py, line 323, in urlconf_module - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] self._urlconf_module = import_module(self.urlconf_name) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/utils/importlib.py, line 35, in import_module - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] __import__(name) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] File /usr/share/openstack-dashboard/openstack_dashboard/wsgi/../../openstack_dashboard/urls.py, line 35, in module - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] url(r'', include(horizon.urls))) - [Mon Jul 30 15:19:00 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'urls' + [Mon Jul 30 16:47:38 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] mod_wsgi (pid=1758): Exception occurred processing WSGI script '/usr/share/openstack-dashboard/openstack_dashboard/wsgi/django.wsgi'. + [Mon Jul 30 16:47:38 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] Traceback (most recent call last): + [Mon Jul 30 16:47:38 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/core/handlers/wsgi.py, line 241, in __call__ + [Mon Jul 30 16:47:38 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] response = self.get_response(request) + [Mon Jul 30 16:47:38 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1] File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/core/handlers/base.py, line 179, in get_response + [Mon Jul 30 16:47:38 2012] [error] [client 192.168.122.1]

[Bug 942106] Re: software raid doesn't assemble before mount on boot
I only use the mdadm array for data, i.e. I don't boot from them. I was originally subscribed to one of the duplicate bugs. The problem I had was that booting would stop with a message about the disks not being ready and the option to 'S'kip or 'M'anual. To work round this I added the `noauto` option to the /etc/fstab entry for the array and called mount(8) in /etc/rc.local My testing of this fix has simply being to remove the `noauto` option from /etc/fstab and the call to mount(8) in /etc/rc.local. I guess that this is not enough for those who boot from an array? P.S. I am happy to try anything else you may require, but I'm away for 8 days from tomorrow. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/942106 Title: software raid doesn't assemble before mount on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mdadm/+bug/942106/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 767510] Re: The computer, Dell Vostro 3700 with Maverick, freezes after a few secondes when the power cord is unplugged
Gaetan Chouinard, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? [Bug 710484] Re: System hangs after removing the AC power
Mahesh Kumar M, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Maverick reached EOL on April 10, 2012. Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We were wondering if this is still an issue in a supported release?
