Hi, I have attached the file requested but have not removed root ownership. Thank you very much for your time I am making this up by offering Linberry my help in translating the menu interface as I lived in Spain for 20 years. Proudly using Linux since 1999. [Bug 681348] Re: Build "show me the desktop" mini-app that adds a show desktop button to Launcher
Super-D still does not work for me at all on up-to-date 12.04. It does nothing now, but it worked in previous versions on the same computer. (The installation on this computer was done with 11.04 (Natty) and was upgraded to 11.10 (Oneiric) during alpha/beta and then 12.04 after release.) It seems from the comments that Super-D didn't work or work unreliably for several users up to at least Feb 2012 in the development version of Precise, but my impression is that it is supposed to work now? [Bug 681348] Re: Build "show me the desktop" mini-app that adds a show desktop button to Launcher
** Description changed: Keyboard shortcut to minimise all windows required. Description: Ubuntu used to have a button on the bottom left corner of the screen that minimised all windows. This button was equivalent to a button that used to exist in MS Windows prior to the advent of Vista/Windows 7. In Unity this button has been removed, however a 'minimise all' function is still useful to allow users to go directly to their desktop. Competitive analysis: Minimise all windows functionality in other operating systems. Windows 2000 & Windows XP: Button on desktop and "Windows Logo+D" key combination - Window 7: "Windows Logo + D" key combination only + Window 7: Clickable area (difficult to discover) in the bottom-right of the screen and "Windows Logo + D" key combination. (compare comments #10-#12) OSX: "Option-Command-M" Key combination only Change request: - Create a small application that when clicked minimises all windows. Users who would like a 'minimise all windows' button can then add this application to their launcher. This app will not be in the Launcher by default. - It should be possible to drag and drop the 'Show Desktop' icon to place it into any position in the Launcher Preferred method of enabling Show Desktop icon in Launcher - A user would add the app to the launcher via either installing it from the software centre or by dragging and dropping it from the dash. It should be possible to change it's position in the Launcher by dragging and dropping in the same manner as any other application. This mini- app can also be run directly from the dash. Note that mini-app *should not* be a ccsm option. Fallback method of enabling Show Desktop icon in Launcher - Add checkbox to 'System Settings / Appearance / Behaviour' to enable workspaces - This should be displayed as: Reveal sensitivityLow |-High -- Enable workspaces [] Add Show Desktop icon to Launcher [] -- Restore Default Behaviours -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/681348 Title: Build "show me the desktop" mini-app that adds a show desktop button to Launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/681348/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1035110] [NEW] highbank: rtc driver unavailable at boot
Public bug reported: I found that highbank systems (w/o ntpdate setup) always have their system time set to the epoch at boot. The rtc driver for these systems is rtc_pl031. This is currently built as a module, and not included in the initramfs. Looking at the kernel config for other platforms, it appears that this is normally resolved by linking platform rtc drivers in statically. ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo hwclock -s ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ date Thu Aug 9 17:07:11 CDT 2012 ** Affects: eilt Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: lomond Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1035110 Title: highbank: rtc driver unavailable at boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/eilt/+bug/1035110/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1031982] Re: 174c:5106 USB 3.0 port does not work with external hard disk
I did not dig into kernel bisection yet. I've first restored an old Backup of January 2012 of Ubuntu 11.04 with kernel 2.6.38-13-generic. I was astonished that the hdd also is NOT mounted with this os version. As the HDD case now is also plugged directly into the mainboard's rear USB3.0 slot, instead of using an extension cable for the front slots, I exclude cabling as a problem. Then the BIOS settings came into my mind and they seem to have a small effect. Maybe some kernel professional can read something out of it. Tested with these BIOS settings (used them for all tests above in this bug report): USB Legacy Mode: Auto USB 3.0 Legacy Mode: Enabled dmesg: [ 230.514236] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Timeout while waiting for a slot [ 280.683151] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Timeout while waiting for a slot [ 280.892975] usb 3-3: device not accepting address 2, error -62 [ 330.852059] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Timeout while waiting for a slot [ 330.852066] hub 3-0:1.0: couldn't allocate port 3 usb_device [ 380.987728] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Timeout while waiting for a slot [ 380.987736] hub 3-0:1.0: couldn't allocate port 1 usb_device [ 638.015783] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Timeout while waiting for a slot [ 638.015790] hub 3-0:1.0: couldn't allocate port 1 usb_device [ 730.086446] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Timeout while waiting for a slot [ 730.086453] hub 3-0:1.0: couldn't allocate port 4 usb_device ** here I unplugged the hdd from USB3.0 port and plugged it into USB2.0 port ** ** the drive is mounted and works fine ** [ 915.777382] usb 2-1.2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 [ 916.003968] usbcore: registered new interface driver uas [ 916.010481] Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... [Bug 1035103] [NEW] Software that uses Python will not load at all, e.g. Update Manager
Public bug reported: I had Ubuntu Studio 10.10 installed, and upgraded through each version to 12.04. When running Update Manager now, nothing appears. If I use the CLI, I get the following error: ~$ update-manager Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/update-manager", line 26, in from gi.repository import Gtk File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/__init__.py", line 23, in from ._gi import _API, Repository ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/_gi.so: undefined symbol: g_callable_info_skip_return If I try to run other software, I get the same error, which includes: Ubuntu Software Center, Ubuntu One and Apport/ubuntu-bug. All fail to show anything on screen other than errors in the Terminal. When trying to use ubuntu-bug to report this error I got a similar error: *** Collecting problem information The collected information can be sent to the developers to improve the application. This might take a few minutes. So I was unable to use ubuntu-bug to report the bug as that is also affected by the same bug. The bug seems to be this: ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/_gi.so: undefined symbol: g_callable_info_skip_return I have tried reinstalling Python 2.7 and some of affected packages, but it makes no difference. This error occured first when I had upgraded to 11.10 and then I had to use the CLI to upgrade to 12.04. Before that in the earlier versions of Ubuntu, this error did not occur. I still have a copy of my 10.10 installation, and the file /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/_gi.so did not exist in that, nor did the gi folder. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1035103 Title: Software that uses Python will not load at all, e.g. Update Manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1035103/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1035067] Re: Shotwell doesn't use 24-hour clock
Hi Benji, Is there any reason why you have a mixed-language environment on your computer? This is to say, your LANG environment variable specifies US English as your system language but you're using German numbers, dates, and times. Much more worryingly, your LC_MESSAGES environment variable is totally out of whack with all of your your other language collation (e.g. LC_xxx) variables. LC_MESSAGES specifies US English but all your other LC_xxx variables specify German. This is likely your problem. [Bug 1035094] [NEW] no menu in app
Public bug reported: When I launch rapidsvn with a regular user, menu doesn't appear and I have the following message when I quit the application : LIBDBUSMENU-GLIB-WARNING **: Trying to remove a child that doesn't believe we're it's parent. If I launch it with a sudo, menu appears and I don't have the message when exiting. I have the same behaviour on another machine. Both are in ubuntu 12.04. I tried with others desktop unity, gnome ( old ) : it doesn't change anything. I have the same behaviour with filezilla and I think this is a wxwidget issue. ** Affects: rapidsvn (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1035094 Title: no menu in app To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rapidsvn/+bug/1035094/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
