[Bug 1064865] [NEW] Menu entry 'Install all updates' does not work, if updates require authentication
Public bug reported: Updating the system with help of the update notifier does not follow a consistent work flow. For a normal user it should work as follows: - a notification appears, - he clicks on the symbol and chooses 'install all updates', - the updates process starts (possibly asking for authentication). Now consider we have some 'normal' updates and some which require authentication: - notification appears, - he clicks on 'install all updates', - the updates process starts (and installs all 'normal' updates), - a notification appears again, - he clicks on 'install all updates', nothing happens and - the notification keeps notifying. To really install all updates, he has to choose 'show updates' and in the appearing window 'Install now'. All very confusing. I see this (mis)behavior in Xubuntus 12.04 and 12.10 desktop installation (update-notifier 0.119ubuntu8.5 and 0.126 ). ** Affects: update-notifier (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - Menu entry 'Install all updates' does not work, if updates requiere authentification + Menu entry 'Install all updates' does not work, if updates require authentication -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1064865 Title: Menu entry 'Install all updates' does not work, if updates require authentication To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-notifier/+bug/1064865/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1064074] Re: mountall blocks boot
Ok, that's a rather strange error condition for mountall. Mountall talks to plymouth and provides regular status updates, including information about any filesystems that are failing to mount. You mention plymouth is running ok; how is it configured? Is this a machine with a graphical boot splash enabled, or using the 'details' plugin? (i.e., is 'splash' being passed on the kernel commandline, or not?) If you boot with the 'quiet' option disabled, is there any activity? The latest patch looks good, except I just noticed that the 'appmenu- gtk' check is being applied literally in both the appmenu-gtk and appmenu-gtk3 packages. :/ It needs to check the corresponding package name in each case; otherwise it gives wrong behavior if appmenu-gtk is not installed and appmenu-gtk3 is, a potentially increasingly common situation as we have fewer and fewer gtk2 apps around. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/932860 Title: Broken (or missing) multiarch support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/appmenu-gtk/+bug/932860/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 626827]
@ Lior Kaplan: Sorry, my question was ambiguous ;-) I did not want to deny that this is a most annoying bug; you are completely right that this issue is very important. I just wanted to suggest that it belongs to the “3.5 most annoying bugs” list, not to the “3.6 most annoying bugs” list, because we have the convention to add a bug only to one MAB list, i.e., to the oldest applicable one (cf. http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Most_Annoying_Bugs). That’s all, sorry for the confusion. PS: I have to admit that this question will be obsolete soon, because the 3.5 MAB list will be probably closed in the near future, and all remaining bugs will be moved to the 3.6 MAB list. So we can leave this bug on the 3.6 list, OK. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/626827 Title: [Upstream] Saving to .doc format copies first page header onto all others To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/626827/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 626827]
Quoting from #6 "This is the Meta issue to track most annoying bugs for the release of LibreOffice 3.6.x releases. It helps developers to concentrate on bugs that are important for users." So this is quite impotant for users, and I got several complaints from people for whom this issues prevents them from using LibO, as they can't edit doc files. Most of them were lawyers who tried to prepare a contact, which got "ruined" each time they saved to send the comment to the other side.

Still reproducible on Version 3.6.0.4 (Build ID: 932b512). Steps to reproduce: 1. Open new writer file, make sure it has more than one page. 2. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1064783/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
