[Bug 287646] Re: Default window size is unhelpfully small
Hi, I'm also having this problem but it doesn't fit b3bnmores scenarios. Using Ubuntu 11.10, eVince 3.2.1 1. every time a pdf is opened it is on left of screen and close to top and it's vertical size is about 50% of screen. 2. I always have to drag screen to right and down and then resize the window. 3. I 've tried menu EDIT | Use Current Settings as default but it makes no difference, the window always opens in the same place. This is case whether I reopen the pdf I was using when I clicked before mentioned menu or if I open a new pdf. I cannot find any other options for setting default screen size. 4. If I open several pdfs each new one is lower by height of the title bar. It would be nice if windows opened with fontsize large enough to be readable, 100% of original or perhaps smaller to fit page size on screen. [Bug 1076860] [NEW] PostgreSQL init script wrongly returns 0 for "status" when no clusters are running
Public bug reported: Because "set +e" is set in the "status" case of the postgresql init script, running "service postgresql status" or "/etc/init.d/postgresql status" always returns with exit code 0. Even when no clusters are running the exit code is 0, when it should really be 3, indicating that the service is not running (as per LSB specs). This has negative implications for Pacemaker, Puppet and other applications that expect init scripts to conform to LSB specifications. Attached is a simple patch that removes "set +e" and makes the init script behave properly. ** Affects: postgresql-9.1 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Patch added: "Remove "set +e" from init script so the "status" operation exits with the proper return codes of 0 when the service is running and 3 when it is not" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076860/+attachment/3428393/+files/postgresql.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076860 Title: PostgreSQL init script wrongly returns 0 for "status" when no clusters are running To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postgresql-9.1/+bug/1076860/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I would also like to say that I wish MATE were available by default in the Ubuntu repos. I hate GNOME 3. I hate Unity. GNOME-shell is a poor substitute for MATE. I already know how to use MATE because I've been using MacOS, Windows, and GNOME 2 for twenty years. Please include this in the Ubuntu repos. I'd like to change the conclusion the 3.2.33-030233-generic-pae kernel, it turns out to have FIXED resume problem. [Bug 1075614] Re: Unity leaks memory even when desktop is idle, screen locked in 12.10
Note that this may be memory bloat rather than a leak. Most people write code that guarantees memory is freed on exit, so a leak is never detected. However a more common and harder to find problem is bloat, where the memory is allocated (and grows) for the lifetime of the process but is only freed on shutdown. ** Changed in: unity Milestone: None => 7.0.0 ** Changed in: unity Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075614 Title: Unity leaks memory even when desktop is idle, screen locked in 12.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1075614/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1076832] [NEW] "Additional drivers" tab doesn't work when Software Sources was launched by synaptic
Public bug reported: To reproduce: 1. Install synaptic and run it 2. Click Settings->repositories 3. Click "Additional software" tab 4. Attempt to change to a different driver. Expected result: The driver gets installed. Actual result: Operation never completes. Analysis: This happens because Software Sources is waiting on Synaptic to exit before performing apt commands. But Synaptic is itself waiting on Software Sources to exit, and you can't close Synaptic before this happens because it's UI is disabled. There is no message telling the user that this is what has happened, so just as with the automatic U1 installer, the user does not know they need to close other package managers before the process will complete. So they are just left waiting forever. Of course in this case it is impossible for the user to unlock the package db without closing everything down and starting over. [Bug 1076830] [NEW] panel crashes if you add, remove, then add the same applet
Public bug reported: To reproduce: 1. windows-alt-right-click the panel, and then "add to panel" 2. [Bug 1076829] [NEW] Recording only works once
Public bug reported: To reproduce: 1. Start recording 2. Click Finish recording, then click "cancel". 3. Start recording again 4. Click Finish recording. Expected result: See the dialogue with "save for later" and "cancel". Actual result: Nothing happens. Must kill kazam and restart it. [Bug 875435] Re: iBus indicator does not show on the panel
Nice, Ma! :) Obviously you put quite some effort in that branch. Now, how about bearing Rodney's advice at https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel- discuss/2012-November/014024.html in mind, and following the SRU procedure. Next step would be to create a merge proposal and have it accepted and uploaded to Raring. Hopefully someone can change the status of the im-switch (Ubuntu) task from "Fix Released" to "In Progress" (I can't), and you can assign the task to yourself. I suppose that the O, P and Q tasks should not be altered until the "sleep 10" SRU process has been completed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/875435 Title: iBus indicator does not show on the panel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/875435/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
