[Bug 1080640] Re: cups cannot connect to printserver in Quantal
@Ken Kleiner As Mauricio said, this is a change in the IPP-Version; not a bug. So i do not think, that this will change in the future. [Bug 1095915] Re: opengl plugin FTBFS with clang
This is really a bug in mesa. glShaderSource is defined in the spec like so: void glShaderSource(GLuint shader, GLsizei count, const GLchar **string, const GLint *length); But in newer versions they've changed it to: GL_APICALL void GL_APIENTRY glShaderSource (GLuint shader, GLsizei count, const GLchar* const* string, const GLint* length); That's incorrect. ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #59013 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59013 ** Also affects: mesa via https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59013 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1095915 Title: opengl plugin FTBFS with clang To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1095915/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1095917] Re: nfs mounts failing during reboot 12.04
This could be a race condition where the network interface reports itself to be up, but traffic is not actually being routed and the mount request fails, and mountall never gets told to try again. If you run 'killall -USR1 mountall' after boot (basically, the same thing /etc/init /mountall-net.conf does), does the share get mounted? [Bug 1095958] [NEW] Unity messes up the screen, mouse pointer, etc. when the resolution is changed
Public bug reported: When the screen resolution is changed (e.g., when I launch an old game using Wine), Unity does not display the desktop and windows correctly anymore, and messes up the game, too. It's hard to say exactly what is happening, but either the desktop or the mouse coordinates are not scaled correctly - so mouse events go to the wrong locations, making the whole desktop unusable. As far as I understand, there should be no scaling to begin with, since Xorg does all the work. Everything works correctly when I run Fluxbox. [Bug 375905] Re: Mouse focus gets stuck over control objects
I have been using different version of Kubuntu for the past 3 years without issues. Last week I formatted my drive and installed Kubuntu 12.10. Since then I have been having the exact same issues as described in the bug description. KDE 4.9.3 Xorg 11.0 synaptiks 0.8.1 Dell Vostro 1500 laptop (with what I believe is a synaptics touchpad) Logitech G5 USB mouse Kensington Expert Mouse The problem is totally random. I have been unable to find a trigger to replicate it. Likewise, I have tried many methods to regain correct focus, but with different success. Sometimes the focus is freed simply by clicking somewhere else, sometimes I can free it by switching to console and then back, while sometimes I have to relog. The problem often happen right after boot, and locks to Thunderbird, which is the first window to open. Relogging will make the problem go away, but can come back at any moment. It can be hours or seconds before the focus gets stuck again. I looked at the logs, but nothing gets printed when the bug appears or go away. I can give more information if asked. The bug has been reported at many level, but since the source cause seems not known even after all these years, I will simply copy/paste this message everywhere. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26213 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265734 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/362359 ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #26213 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26213 ** Bug watch added: KDE Bug Tracking System #265734 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265734 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/375905 Title: Mouse focus gets stuck over control objects To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-driver-synaptics/+bug/375905/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1095949] [NEW] Problem with special characters
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 dev with upstart 1.6.1-1ubuntu1. It seems that Upstart have problems on my system if a script contains a special character like "ö". Here is an example script: env DISPLAY=:0 script x-terminal-emulator -e "$(echo 'sh -c "echo ö; sleep 5"')" end script I have tested this with lxterminal and xterm but lxterminal is showing me and xterm ö .Calling this command from bash works fine (so it seems not to be a bug in lxterminal or xterm). If a ö is read as ISO-8859-1 and printed in UTF-8 it contains the same characters which xterm is showing me. So I'm assuming Upstart has maybe read this file as ISO-8859-1. ** Affects: upstart (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1095949 Title: Problem with special characters To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upstart/+bug/1095949/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1092693] Re: CSR BS8510 bluetooth adapter cannot use A2DP profile
I have determined that this seems to be caused by trying to use a specific bluetooth A2DP device. On both 3.5 and 3.8 kernels, one device I have works, and another does not. I do not recall this being the case before upgrading my kernel to 3.8, but it works now in some cases. DOES NOT WORK: my headset, an LG tone+ HBS730 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009A5204K) - produces logging like in all of the samples above. WORKS: my home theatre system, connected with a Belkin F8Z492TTP (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0047T79VS) - seems to produce almost no logging. Jan 3 22:48:59 ben-HP-Pavilion-dm4-Notebook-PC bluetoothd[1163]: /org/bluez/1163/hci0/dev_00_02_72_EF_52_1B/fd0: fd(31) ready both devices support A2DP, however the tone+ optionally can use a different audio codec(apt-x) instead of SBC. I have never used this feature (And do not expect it to be available on linux since apt-x is proprietary), but thought it might be a relevant data point. ** Summary changed: - CSR BS8510 bluetooth adapter cannot use A2DP profile + CSR BS8510 bluetooth adapter cannot use A2DP profile on LG tone+ HBS-730 headset -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1092693 Title: CSR BS8510 bluetooth adapter cannot use A2DP profile on LG tone+ HBS-730 headset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1092693/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sure. First, I ssh'd to project64198@deneb, a (metal) server of mine. [Bug 829581] Re: package initramfs-tools 0.99ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Ok I just found out that this is caused by the /boot/ partition getting full. Looks like old kernel images are kept indefinitely, which eventually eats up all the space on the /boot/ partition. [Bug 1095933] [NEW] Sync openafs 1.6.2~pre2-2 (universe) from Debian experimental (main)
Public bug reported: Please sync openafs 1.6.2~pre2-2 (universe) from Debian experimental (main) This new upstream version is required to support raring’s kernel 3.7 (bug 1079126). I’ve tested it in ppa:openafs/master. Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped: * Really fix for kernel 3.5. (LP: #1015925) * Apply upstream deltas for Linux 3.5 (Closes: #685973) (LP: #1015925): - [2b33384] Linux 3.4: replace end_writeback with clear_inode - [5227148] Linux 3.5: encode_fh API change The Ubuntu delta consisted entirely of changes cherry-picked from upstream; they are now part of 1.6.2pre1. Changelog entries since current raring version 1.6.1-2ubuntu2: openafs (1.6.2~pre2-2) experimental; urgency=low * Restore include of in userspace builds of rx/rx_packet.h to get a definition of MIN and MAX on, at least, powerpc. Thanks, Andrew Deason. -- Russ Allbery Thu, 03 Jan 2013 12:06:41 -0800 openafs (1.6.2~pre2-1) experimental; urgency=low * New upstream prerelease. - Support Linux kernels up to 3.7. (Closes: #685973) - Fix fileservers to properly report >2 TiB partitions. - Fix stale volume info from vos examine on non-DAFS filservers. - Fix possible volume corruption with vos convertROtoRW. - Fix bosserver to preserve all command-line options over restart. - Fix bosserver to properly kill hung processes during shutdown. - Fixes for memcache, especially on Solaris. - Increase the size of the DNS resolver answer buffer to allow sites with a long response list to use SRV and AFSDB records. - Fix possible abuse of fs mkmount. In previous versions, users could crash a client by nesting volume mounts. - Fix client page cache corruption on Linux. When multiple clients read and write to a file, the reading client may see first couple bytes of a file as nulls. - Support newer glibc versions. * Build-Depend on hardening-wrapper and enable it to work around the current upstream munging of CFLAGS and LDFLAGS. (Closes: #659663) * Fix server installation instructions in README.servers, which used the early demand-attach syntax before separate demand-attach binaries were built. Thanks, Björn Torkelsson. (Closes: #693311) * Remove the symlink from the openafs-fileserver doc directory to the openafs-client doc directory. We used to install this symlink and share doc directories, but this stopped in 1.4.12+dfsg-1. However, dpkg doesn't remove symlinks to a directory, so systems that had upgraded from the older package were overwriting openafs-client doc files with the openafs-fileserver versions. Thanks, Andreas Beckmann. (Closes: #694063) * Switch to xz compression for the upstream tarball, Debian tarball, and binary packages. * Remove debian/import-upstream and change README.source to document using git-import-orig with --upstream-vcs-tag instead. * Move single-debian-patch to local-options and patch-header to local-patch-header so that they only apply to the packages I build and NMUs get regular version-numbered patches. * Update Vcs-* URLs for the new anonscm.debian.org URL layout. * Update standards version to 3.9.4 (no changes required). -- Russ Allbery Thu, 03 Jan 2013 10:07:39 -0800 ** Affects: openafs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1095933 Title: Sync openafs 1.6.2~pre2-2 (universe) from Debian experimental (main) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openafs/+bug/1095933/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 882710] Re: [NVIDIA] Monitor(s) black out and session freezes. "NVRM: GPU at 0000:01:00.0 has fallen off the bus."
No overheating on my part. I have tested the 560 ti with the HDMI cable, with a DVI cable and with a DVI-VGA. All cases have same problem. I have even tried using different versions, starting from the originals that come with 12.10 to the ones in X-Swat, to the ones in Xorg Edgers. Basically from 304.xx to 313.xx. In all cases I used 64 bit. I even tested 13.04. My hardware specs are: Intel Core i7 2600 16 GB RAM Intel DZ68DB Motherboard Intel 128GB SSD Nvidia 560 TI This was working fine until 2 weeks ago. Then this precise problem appeared out of nowhere. I tested all drivers version in 12.10 and 13.04 that came with it or were in Swat or Edgers PPA. The only one that is working is nouveau but that is just throwing the towel since the solution should be to actually use the video performance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/882710 Title: [NVIDIA] Monitor(s) black out and session freezes. [Bug 1095917] [NEW] nfs mounts failing during reboot 12.04
Public bug reported: 12.04.1 LTS I have 3 nfs mounts in /etc/fstab but only 2 succeed. After logging in, I can manually mount the 3rd nfs file system (/alansun_root) with no problems. This seems to be similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-utils/+bug/891825 but that seems to be closed do to lack of activity and was about an older version of Ubuntu. If I change the order of the 3 nfs file systems in /etc/fstab, the file system not mounted changes, so it seems to be a timing issue. Sometimes, only 1 of the 3 file systems is mounted.
