[Bug 1031217] Re: Ubuntu 12.04's use of networkmanager+dnsmasq breaks DNS for virtualbox VMs
Per comment #10 from Clint, this bug is missing information needed in order to accept this SRU. Rather than leaving this package in the precise/quantal upload queues, I'm rejecting it. Also, the changelog uses incorrect syntax for a bug closure (bug #1071344), resulting in a missing reference; this needs to be fixed and the package reuploaded. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1031217 Title: Ubuntu 12.04's use of networkmanager+dnsmasq breaks DNS for virtualbox VMs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1031217/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1084178] Re: auto.net does not handle mutliple mount points from a remote
This turns out to not be a bug, but a misconfiguration. Your /etc/exports specifies 'fsid=0' for both exports. You don't have to specify an fsid, but if you do, it takes the place of the default uuid which nfsd would use to identify the filesystems. In other words, you told the server that both are the same. ** Changed in: autofs (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084178 Title: auto.net does not handle mutliple mount points from a remote To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/+bug/1084178/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1085107] Re: evolution hangs
Another data point: In Preferences -> Mail Preferences -> HTML Messages, checking the ''Never load images from the Internet" options solves the problem for me. The "Unknown background operation" status notifications go away when I do this. This leads me to believe that the bug is related to webkit html mail display fetching images gone awry. [Bug 834174] Re: cannot login via ssh when using dropbear in initramfs
Actually, it's not clear to me why we would want to set passwd to 'compat', which differs from 'files' only in NIS handling which would seem to be irrelevant in the initramfs environment. Both plymouth and mountall already have initramfs hooks in Ubuntu which set up /etc/nsswitch.conf to use 'passwd: files'; and the 'compat' nss module only works if the 'files' nss module is already present, which this initramfs hook doesn't guarantee to be the case at all. The only reason this would *happen* to work is because cryptsetup on the system triggers plymouth's initramfs hook, which pulls in this nss configuration with nss_files. So I think the updated dropbear hook is actually broken and not appropriate for SRU as is. This needs to be made to work like the plymouth initramfs hook, using nss_files instead for consistency. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/834174 Title: cannot login via ssh when using dropbear in initramfs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dropbear/+bug/834174/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 834174] Re: cannot login via ssh when using dropbear in initramfs
+ LIBC_DIR=$(ldd /usr/sbin/dropbear | sed -n -e 's,.* => \(/lib.*\)/libc\.so\..*,\1,p') + for so in $(find "${LIBC_DIR}" -name 'libnss_compat*'); do + copy_exec "${so}" + done + echo 'passwd: compat' > "${DESTDIR}/etc/nsswitch.conf" FWIW, this looks unnecessarily indirect; the libnss_compat should always be found in the same directory as libc itself, since they are both part of glibc, so the 'find' is a needless traversal of the /lib/* directory. But as this is the solution implemented already in Debian and raring, it's not a blocker for the SRU.
