[Bug 1029289] Re: Need to authorize my google account each time I boot the computer
Can somebody comment on the fact that there is an upload for signon- plugin-oauth2, and not one for account-plugins in quantal-proposed? [Bug 1096294] Re: Wifi regressioin in linux-image-3.2.0-35-generic-pae
Hello. Thanks for the interest in my problem. I updated bios just now: *-firmware description: BIOS vendor: LENOVO physical id: 0 version: 6DET72WW (3.22 ) date: 10/25/2012 size: 128KiB capacity: 8128KiB I am now running -26 kernel. First cold boot after BIOS update worked ok (wifi started working after a few direct probe retries), then I rebooted again and got the excessive retries and wifi wouldn't associate. I tried rmmod/modprobe iwlwifi 4 times, still no go, same behaviour. I then rebooted the router and rmmod/insmod again, and then things started working. The behaviour is a bit erratic, but it seems that the problem occurs after 1-2 weeks of uptime for the router. Cold booting the X200 doesn't usually solve the problem either, I tried that with the -35 kernel. I have had the X200 and the DIR-855 router for 4 years and never seen this behaviour before the 3.2.0-35 kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1096294 Title: Wifi regressioin in linux-image-3.2.0-35-generic-pae To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1096294/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 843373] Re: Dash button on a Launcher. How to return it back to top panel?
I'm still using Natty. I was thrilled when I first saw Unity. I loved how, at the intersection of the panel/menubar and the Unity Launcher, was resided the Dash Home button showing off the Ubuntu logo. Using CCSM, it's easily configured such that the icons aren't excessively big and clumsy, revealing Unity's hidden elegance. It was perfection! I was shocked when I saw Oneiric and I'm still shocked. That there wasn't even an option to revert the ugliness that Unity had become. Not even in the Unity plugin in CCSM. Not even in gconf/dconf. Not even in some config file hidden away somewhere. Let alone a nice, user-friendly preference in system settings! Really, this sleek corner-button should have stayed the default with no need for a 'sleek-style' preference. A default Launcher width of twice the menubar height (48pix rather than the huge 66pix), also wouldn't go amiss. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/843373 Title: Dash button on a Launcher. [Bug 1103833] [NEW] Wine icon only appears for all Windows applications
Public bug reported: If I start an application using Crossover (or Wine), the application will always be the Wine Logo instead of the application logo. This is the same independent of the application being run or using Wine instead of Crossover. That makes sense if the application has no logo, but it gets confusing running multiple Microsoft Office programs - and all of them have the same logo. The hint text for the icon is also "Wine Windows Program Loader" instead of "Document 1 - Microsoft Word" as it should be. Unity does not seem to allow Wine/Crossover to use application icons and title text. I have confirmed that this issue does NOT occur in Gnome Classic, and is only a Unity flaw. [Bug 1040557] Re: UEFI boot live-usb bricks SAMSUNG 530U3C, np700z5c laptop
Daniele -- other Linux distributions may or may not have this problem. Also, they may have other problems that are not present in Ubuntu. It is all a matter of trial and error and publicizing the results. However, what we do know at this point is that the removal of samsung-laptop kernel module in UEFI mode (Colin King's patch) likely fixes the bug. If you are intent to try other Linux distributions, I suggest that you disable FastBios and set "OS Mode Selection" to CSM OS, boot from the installation disk and execute "lsmod | grep -i samsung". If you see samsung_laptop in the output, do NOT try booting Linux in UEFI mode. If you want to try installing Ubuntu, get a latest daily build from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/precise/daily-live/current/. Installing from the latest builds in UEFI mode should be safe. Also, try resetting and/or updating your BIOS settings or doing a hard reset: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01443371&lc=en&cc=us&destPage=document&dlc=en&product=3636595 @Luke Y: if lspci doesn't even list the device, what is a pulseaudio log going to tell us? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1103804 Title: PCI/internal sound card not detected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1103804/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1103378] Re: Is there a memory leak in alsa-lib?
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1062735] Re: ethercodes.dat in arpwatch is out of date
man (section 8) massagevendor contains some notes about how to update it. http://manpages.ubuntu.com/massagevendor In the changelog Steve Langasek said: * Revert change in previous NMU that makes /usr/share/arpwatch/ethercodes.dat a conffile; users who need to modify this can use dpkg-divert instead. Closes: #552792, #550233. This seems like it should be handled similarly to the whois database or other periodically updated data (tzdata's probably one of the most visable and most common to get updates). [Bug 1089201] Re: Kernel 3.5 is not booting
Fibonacci, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the kernel in the mainline kernels archive directory daily folder. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.8-rc4 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, please comment as to why specifically you were unable to test it and add the following tags: kernel-unable-to-test-upstream kernel-unable-to-test-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed.
