[Bug 1116011] [NEW] crashes when running flash in fullscreen

2013-02-04 Thread Robert Jordens
Public bug reported:

When activating full screen video playback of a flash app, X crashes.
The first couple of times it works, then the playback gets stuck and X crashes.

[Bug 1116006] [NEW] xscreensaver-settings breaks imageDirectory line if it is a URL

2013-02-04 Thread Sven Hergenhahn
Public bug reported:

xscreensaver 5.15 (5.15-2ubuntu1)
in Ubuntu 12.10

The URL that can be set in the GUI (Advanced->"Choose Random Image" (or
imageDirectory in .xscreensaver, it doesn't matter) is broken almost
immediately after having used xscreensaver-settings

For example, putting

imageDirectory: http://www.degraeve.com/flickr-
rss/rss.php?tags=heidelberg&num=20

into .xscreensaver and not running xscreensaver-settings works as
expected and it does show images of the RSS feed.

However, as soon as I click on the "Settings"-Button, and the
"Advanced", I'm presented with an error message that the directory does
not exist, and then - checking either the GUI or the .-file, the URL is
broken like as follows:

imageDirectory: http:/www.degraee.coom/flickr-
rss/rss.php?tags=heidelberg&num=20

In this case:
- http:// is missing the second slash
- degraeve is changed to degraee
- com becomes coom

Expected behaviour:
Write the entered URL into .xscreensaver and do not alter it

Reproducible: always

I already contacted the author of xscreensaver directly, but he refuses
to even read bug reports for a two year old version (understandable...)

Maybe it would suffice to just repackage the latest version?

Thanks,
Sven

Re: [Bug 874259] Re: shotwell crashed with SIGSEGV in photo_import_developed_backing_photo()

2013-02-04 Thread timo.matas...@gmail.com
Hi,

I reported the bug about two years ago and I'm not using the Oneiric
anymore. I haven't seen that bug in the current Ubuntu 12.10 at all. But
back then in 11.10 it happened very often. Unfortunately I can't check if
the problem still persists as, like I said, I don't have that 11.10
anymore. At least it seems to be fixed in 12.10.

[Bug 1115998] [NEW] Wireless cutting out after a few min of use in 13.04

2013-02-04 Thread Britt Yazel
Public bug reported:

I am running Ubuntu 13.04 development build on an Acer Aspire V3-551,
and I am having an issue where my wireless cuts out after 4-5 minutes of
use. When the wireless cuts out the whole computer locks up for 5-10
seconds and now mouse movement registers. This has been happening for
the past few weeks and is very hard to work with.

As a note, if I click the networking menu and disable wireless and then
toggle it back on, there seems to be a 50/50 chance that I can get my
wireless to connect again, otherwise it just tries over and over again
to connect and fails. Usually on a reboot the issue will be temporarily
resolved (until 4-5 min of use as stated above), but some of the time
the issue persists through a reboot.

They are supposed to show the same list indeed, so that sounds like a
bug.

[Bug 1113529] Re: [sponsor request]add into archive for UbuntuKylin

2013-02-04 Thread Steve Langasek
The copyright file in this package says:

Files: *
Copyright:

Copyright (C) 2010 Matthieu James

This doesn't make sense to me. If all of the icons are copyright to
someone else, why are they included in this package - instead of
depending on another package that provides them? Has this theme been
based on another existing icon theme - if so, what one? (This
information should be included somewhere in the package - preferably in
debian/copyright.)

In debian/control, you have:

Description: ubuntukylin theme
 Theme for UbuntuLykin

This should read:

Description: UbuntuKylin theme
 Theme for UbuntuKylin

Since UbuntuKylin is a proper name, it should be capitalized - and the
typo in the second line should be fixed.

Note that the debian/copyright you have does not strictly meet
.
This is not a blocker for sponsorship, but you may want to be aware of
it and fix it at some point.

[Bug 1014494] Re: Improper display on Xfce 4.10/Cinnamon/Gnome Shell running on Ubuntu 12.04/Mint

2013-02-04 Thread Michael Hofmann
Hi Pablo,

Thanks, I didn't know that this existed.

I did a test again with a 12.10 xubuntu cd, with the following results:
- with indicator-applet: square icon (too small)
- without indicator-applet -> systray: non-square-icon, as it should be

But the general conclusions still stand :-(. This is a bug/feature in
the desktop environments, and there is nothing the indicator can do
about it.

[Bug 1115964] [NEW] gpicview does not browse through mpo files

2013-02-04 Thread Georg Eckert
Public bug reported:

When opening MPO files (container with 2 jpeg images - Fujifilm W3
Digicam), everything is fine. GPicView recognises one of the contained
jpegs and opens it. But when clicking "next" (left or right arrow) it
only browses through JPEGs in this folder and ignores MPO files.

I do not know if this is an gpicview issue, though all the other image
viewers have the same problem (except for ristretto, gthumbs workaround
is with the option "determine image type from content").

Affects all gpicview versions.

[Bug 902852] Re: Timed autologin feature not working

2013-02-04 Thread John Eikenberry
Using the 1.2.1 packages (either 1.2.1-0ubuntu1 or 1.2.1-0ubuntu1.1)
autologin was working fine. After upgrading to 1.2.3 it promptly stopped
working. Config below. I reverted to the older 1.2.1 release to get it
working again.

autologin-user=foo
autologin-user-timeout=1

[Bug 1115944] Re: Unity hiding open LibreOffice files

2013-02-04 Thread dotancohen
I do not know why this issue is marked for Package "gnome-keyring". I typed
"unity" when filing the issue. Now that I am trying to change it to "unity" by
searching in the "Choose..." field I am getting the error:
"Too many matches. Please try to narrow your search."

How could I narrow the search? So far as I know "unity" is the name of
the problematic package, and the "Choose..." field is not showing me any
alternatives or suggestions.

** Package changed: gnome-keyring (Ubuntu) => unity (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1115944] [NEW] Unity hiding open LibreOffice files

2013-02-04 Thread dotancohen
Public bug reported:

A small office that just converted to Ubuntu 12.10 is having problems
with opening / finding open LibreOffice documents in Unity. The issue
seems to be that if any arbitrary document is already open in
LibreOffice, on any workspace, then clicking on the file in the file
manager does nothing. The file is not opened in another instance. The
running instance is not brought to the forefront. No error, warning, or
notice is given. Absolutely no feedback is returned to the user, who
might not be aware that another instance is running with the file
already open.

>From conversations on the mailing list it seems that Unity does show a
small symbol next to the LibreOffice icon when the document is clicked.
This went completely unnoticed by the users of Ubuntu and by myself
while trying to actually work with the system. In fact, one user had
resorted to reseting the computer each time she needed to open a
document that "would not open".

Please change the behaviour of Unity to bring the running LibreOffice
instance to the forefront when the user clicks on a document that is
already open.

Thank you.

** Affects: unity (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1115927] [NEW] Update Manager has unusual checkbox behavior between group and individual checkboxes.

2013-02-04 Thread Jeff Johnson
Public bug reported:

Update Manager lists 'Other updates (Google, Inc.)' as the group and
'The web browser from Google' as the only item in that checkbox group.
Starting with both checked, if I check the item ('The web browswer...')
it is unchecked, but the group remains checked. Then if I uncheck the
group, the group becomes unchecked, but the item is checked.

Sometimes if one is checked and not the other, I need two clicks to get
it to change checkbox state.

[Bug 1115886] Re: Can't change wallpaper unless /org/gnome/desktop/background/show-desktop-icons is true.

2013-02-04 Thread Nicholas J. Alonge
I couldn't replicate the problem of not being able to change the
wallpaper, but toggling that setting causes problems with the fade
animation of changing the wallpaper.

I opened dconf-editor, and it looks like the box was unchecked by
default (even though in gnome-tweak-tool, "have file manager handle the
desktop" is on). I checked it to enable it (org.gnome.desktop.background
.show-desktop-icons) then changed the wallpaper and it worked as
expected. When I toggled that setting off again I was still able to
change the wallpaper but it didn't fade in between wallpapers, it was an
abrupt change. It also disabled nautilus handling the desktop.

[Bug 1115886] [NEW] Can't change wallpaper unless /org/gnome/desktop/background/show-desktop-icons is true.

2013-02-04 Thread Robert Bruce Park
Public bug reported:

When I logged into my computer today, Unity wasn't showing my wallpaper.
The first thing I tried was to go into the Appearance settings and
change the wallpaper. At first, I was not able to make any changes to
the wallpaper. Then I started tinkering around with dconf, just to see
if I could find any settings that might interfere with the wallpaper.

What I found was that /org/gnome/desktop/background/show-desktop-icons
was set to false, but if I set it to true, then the regular Appearance
settings panel was able to change the wallpaper. and again, if I set it
back to false, then I was no longer able to change what wallpaper is
used.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Using dconf, set /org/gnome/desktop/background/show-desktop-icons to
false

2. Using Gear menu -> System Settings -> Appearance, try to change the
wallpaper. You can't.

3. Set show-desktop-icons back to true.

4. Change the wallpaper now -- it works.

So, this is quite strange to me -- turning on show-desktop-icons doesn't
actually render any icons on my desktop. It only enables the wallpaper
switching to work. My best guess as to what is happening here is that
"show-desktop-icons" really just means "make nautilus render root
window", and somehow I've stumbled onto a bug by which g-s-d can no
longer render the wallpaper for itself, so turning on show-desktop-icons
forces nautilus to take over, where it is successful in rendering the
wallpaper.

Let me know if there's any additional information I can provide, and I
will happily cooperate in troubleshooting ;-)

[Bug 919899] Re: Compose sequence apostrophe+c produces a cedilla instead of acute

2013-02-04 Thread Mario Blažević
I gave up a while ago. One thing that may be of interest is that Linux
Mint Debian Edition, update pack 6, does not suffer from the bug. It
appears that this is Ubuntu's problem only, it's not coming from
upstream Debian.

** Description changed:

  Version 12.10
  Ubuntu Gnome Remix 12.10

I am using ibus as the default input method. In the beginning, I thought
my problem was related to Bug #1045914. But after trying that bug's fix,
the problem still exists. Jeremy Bicha (jbicha) asked me to report a new
bug since the bug #1045914 is already fixed.

In order to fix this problem, what I did by following Bug #1045914's
  suggestion:

- * Add GNOME3 PPA: ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
- * run dist-upgrade
- Now, the "Details" page in "System Settigns" shows Ubuntu 13.04 instead
of 12.10.
- * Add new keyboard layout in "System Settings" --> "Region & Language" -->
"Layouts"

  Thanks.
