[Bug 1070748] Re: The reported error was No se pudo conectar con smtp.gmail.com: Error de entrada/salida.

2013-02-13 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Where did you see this error? Could you please attach a screenshot of
the issue?

Sounds to me like it's probably a simple case of not being connected, or
the service being temporarily unavailable...

2013-02-13 Thread Jason White
Does this happen in Firefox as well or just in Chromium? Also can you be more
specific about what exactly your are doing to get the issue?
I also think this has to do with web browser package not the Evince package.

Hi,
Hope your having a good day. Screen shots are a difficult way to capture
information for papers.

Some questions to help resolve this problem inclde:
1. What version of Ubuntu are you using?
2. What version of LibreOffice are you using?

I couldnot recreate this problem on Ubuntu 12.04.

[Bug 1124419] Re: Laptop does not resume from suspend properly, KDE does not start the first time

2013-02-13 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.8 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both
the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
Confirmed.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1124390] Re: Unable to handle kernel paging request at ffff8800fffffee0

2013-02-13 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? This
will help determine if the problem you are seeing is the result of the
introduction of a regression, and when this regression was introduced.

[Bug 1040833] Re: Pull in upstream biosdevname patches for 12.04

2013-02-13 Thread Kent Baxley
After some discussions with Dell as to the whereabouts of 0.5.0 on
https://linux.dell.com/biosdevname/ , it turns out that the 0.5.0
version has some issues with it that will need some more work.

So, for now, it looks like the best course of action is to stay with
getting the fixes from v0.4.1 into either an SRU or delievered via
precise-backports.

[Bug 1124328] Re: *ERROR* failed to set mode on [CRTC:7]

Re: [Bug 1124186] [NEW] better integrate with plymouth

On Wed, Feb 13, 2013 at 02:48:41PM -, Dmitrijs Ledkovs wrote:
Currently cryptroot handles number-of-tries by itself, maybe it's better

Currently there is a noticeable delay between typing a passphrase wrong
being offered to type it again. But maybe it's just cryptsetup taking
 it's time.

Principally, I didn't do this originally because it makes for a significant
change to the internal API of cryptdisks.functions. There are already open
bug reports about the fact that Ubuntu's cryptsetup divergence from
Debian/upstream breaks non-plymouth-based passphrase prompting; I think we
should fix that bug, rather than making the problem worse by breaking all
other values of $KEYSCRIPT.

[Bug 1124484] [NEW] Dash loses keyboard focus during search

2013-02-13 Thread Steve Magoun
Public bug reported:

Certain keystrokes can cause the dash to lose keyboard focus. This is
100% reproducible for me, and I believe it's been around since 12.10 (if
not earlier).

To reproduce:
1) Hit Super to open the dash
2) In the dash, type a string such as 'sound'
3) Press the down arrow once. Notice the Applications section is selected
4) Press Escape. The search string is cleared
5) Type another search string in the dash

Expected results:
When you start typing in step 5, your keystrokes are entered into the dash as a
search string

Actual results:
When you start typing in step 5, nothing happens. Despite the blinking cursor
in the dash search box, the search box does not have keyboard focus. The arrow
keys have no effect (they do not return focus to the search box). Pressing
'Escape' does not close the dash as it should. You have to close the dash (e.g.
via the super key) and reopen it in order to resume your search.

This is always reproducible on my system when the search string from step 2 is
an application ('sound', 'display', 'firefox', etc). It's also reproducible
when the search returns a document. If the search string is random characters
that don't return any results, the dash does not lose keyboard focus.

[Bug 1124390] Re: Unable to handle kernel paging request at ffff8800fffffee0

2013-02-13 Thread Kelly Hyde
This did not/does not occur on Quantal with the 3.6.x kernel, so I'm
pretty sure this is a Raring specific/3.8.x kernel series issue. On
Quantal, my Wifi card was only supported by b43, so I've only begun
using bcmwl with Raring.

I think bcmwl added support for my Wifi card when the 6.20 firmware was
introduced.

I also should probably mention that I just noticed this output in dmesg:

Not sure if this is relevant. This is after a reboot, so it's not
simultaneous with the kernel error.

[Bug 1116658] Re: entries in menu bar not visible

2013-02-13 Thread Loofmann
Hi Adolfo,

Yes it seems to be the exact problem. Following the link in the comments
(http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/1429/libreoffice-3512-menu-
problem/ ) shows a thread i already know.

I also tried the suggestions which are given there.

[Bug 1124373] Re: linux-firmware unexpected EOF in archive

2013-02-13 Thread Jarrett Meyer
First answer: The file I am attempting to download directly is
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-firmware/linux-
firmware_1.79.1.tar.gz. This file produces the error above when
attempting to untar the file.

Second answer: The download never completes when using apt-get install
linux-firmware. The download loops indefinitely (or at least through 30
tries before I CTRL-C the process).

Length: 23381949 (22M) [application/x-gzip]
Saving to: `linux-firmware_1.79.1.tar.gz`

99% [= ] 23,371, 1776 404K/s in
27s

2013-02-13 14:11:06 (831 KB/s) - Connection closed at byte 23371776.
Retrying.

Trying the .deb file, as suggested, produces the same result, except
that the connection closes at byte 23076864 each time.

This is a brand new Ubuntu 12.04 install. The other 200+ initial updates
installed just fine. This is only that that's giving me fits.
