[Bug 940853] Re: Djvu plugin crashes in Firefox

2013-03-07 Thread Dave Walker
Hello Per-Inge, or anyone else affected,

Accepted djview4 into precise-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/djview4/4.9-1ubuntu1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1083498] Re: please enable arm assembler code in openssl

2013-03-07 Thread Dmitrijs Ledkovs
Armhf, nexus7, test
before: http://paste.ubuntu.com/5594566/
after: http://paste.ubuntu.com/5594567/

** Description changed:

- Imported from Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/676533:
+ [Impact]

- Package: openssl
- Version: 1.0.1c-3
- Severity: wishlist
- Tags: patch
+ * Enable arm asm optimisations.
+ * This is an SRU as part of Hardware Enablement.
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ * Compare `openssl speed` on armhf. There should be noticeable
+ improvement.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ * This change affects only arm[hf|el].
+ * The test-suite passes correctly.
+
+ [Other Info]

  Openssl has some rather nice arm assembler optimizations. For example
  on pandaboard (omap4430):

  benchmarkdebian   with patch
  sha1 55836.67k -> 73599.08k
  aes-128 cbc  18451.11k -> 36305.34k
  aes-256 cbc  13552.30k -> 27108.31k
  sha256   20092.25k -> 43469.45k
  sha512   8052.74k  -> 37194.28k
  rsa 1024 1904.2v/S -> 3650.5v/s
-
- The attached patch enables using arm assembler, as well as removes the
- armeb configuration as the armeb port is long dead.

[Bug 1147439] Re: 13.04beta runs on Live DVD but graphics crashes on install

2013-03-07 Thread Doug Bates
f.y.i. I swapped the ATI Caicos [Radeon HD 6450] card for an Nvidea 8500
and all worked beautifully.

=> ATI ~ it's all your fault ;-) (but works just fine on 12.10 so no
hardware issues I think)

I hope it gets sorted 'cus on NVidea it all looks brilliant! thank you.

ubiquity (2.13.13) raring; urgency=low

  [ Dmitrijs Ledkovs ]
  * Bump Standards version and override some lintian tags (ubiquity is
weird).
  * Override expander style, which is hardcoded in light-themes to a
light color. (LP: #1100922)
  * Consolidate CssProvider and add make minimal progress bar width 10px,
in preparation for dot-progress of all steps.
  * Fix colour unit test, the green is no longer what it used to be...
  * Switch to "NotShowIn=KDE" for ubiquity-gtk desktop files, as most !kde
desktop environments use gtk frontend.
  * Show progress dots for plugin pages and show progress bar only during
slideshow.

  [ Colin Watson ]
  * Decode the output of apt_pkg.size_to_str() if necessary when
substituting it into Unicode strings (LP: #877756, #1132918).
  * Update translations from Launchpad.

  [ Aurélien Gâteau ]
  * Turns the Ubiquity KDE window into a regular window and rework
the layout of widgets to provide more space to the main content.
The labels on the left now wrap to the next line if they are too long,
ensuring they are never truncated.
  * KDE: Improve the layout of Prepare step
  * KDE: fix integration of the webview responsible for showing the slideshow
  * KDE: fix various issues with right-to-left languages

  [ Julien Lavergne ]
  * Use feh to draw the wallpaper on Lubuntu when using ubiquity-dm.

2013-03-07 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package foo2zjs - 20130303dfsg0-1ubuntu1

---
foo2zjs (20130303dfsg0-1ubuntu1) raring; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian unstable. Remaining changes:
- Depends on the mscompress package.

foo2zjs (20130303dfsg0-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New 20130303 upstream release. (LP: #984424)
- Experimental support for three new printers:
  - Fuji Xerox DocuPrint CP205
  - Dell 1355
  - Xerox WorkCentre 6015
- Refresh all patches
- Add foo2hbpl2 binary, wrapper and manpages

  * DFSG repack (no changes from previous releases).
- remove binary file c5200mono.prn
- remove crd/qpdl/CLP* , because copyright is unclear

  * Rewrite the package content installation to allow the use of
--fail-missing in dh_install.
  * Install all available PPDs before the pyppd run, to make sure we
don't forget one.
  * Rewrite debian/copyright with Copyright-Format 1.0 style.
  * Rebuild PPDs because we can.
- Add foomatic-db-engine to Build-Depends;
- Update 10-makefile.patch to use system-provided foomatic-ppdfile;
- Run 'all' and 'ppd' Makefile targets.

foo2zjs (20130220dfsg0-2) experimental; urgency=low

  [ Didier Raboud ]
  * Add time to Build-Depends, helps getting the tests run further.
  * Update 10-makefile.patch to enforce LDFLAGS usage and another case
of CFLAGS overriding; also add DEP-3 headers.
  * Put mscompress to Depends on Debian and to Recommends on Ubuntu and
derivatives, drops the need of a hand-merge by Ubuntu.

  [ Till Kamppeter ]
  * Add 96-hplj1000-fix-cups-usb-backend-firmware-upload.patch.
The firmware upload script tried to upload the firmware via the usblp
kernel module and with the CUPS USB backend (using libusb) in parallel,
making the printer crash. (LP: #1003843)

foo2zjs (20130220dfsg0-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New 20130220 upstream release. (LP: #1130918)
- Install new printer's PPDs

- remove crd/qpdl/CLP* , because copyright is unclear

  * Refresh all patches.

Perhaps you can provide test instructions? I looked at your PPA files.
Do I install all of them? Just some? How do I uninstall after testing?
I guess at this point you have already tested. I am willing to test but
need a little help to get started.

[Bug 1152359] [NEW] [FFe] sync 2.0-1 from debian/sid

2013-03-07 Thread Barry Warsaw
Public bug reported:

0install 2.0 was recently released and just uploaded to sid. It would
be good to have this newer version in Ubuntu as well. From
0install.net:

0install 2.0 brings many enhancements to the XML metadata syntax used to
describe packages and their dependencies, allowing a more precise
specification of their requirements. Support for using distribution-
provided packages as dependencies was extended and now covers Arch
Linux, Cygwin, Darwin, Debian, Fink, FreeBSD Ports, Gentoo, MacPorts,
Mint, openSUSE, Red Hat, Slackware and Windows. The 0install software
now supports apps, an easier way to manage 0install applications,
improved diagnostics when no compatible versions can be selected,
improved usability, and better support for use on headless servers.

This is a universe package and we carry no deltas from Debian, so a
straight up sync should be enough. The Debian version builds without
problem in a local Raring chroot.

If you approve the FFe, I can sync it. Just assign it back to me.

[Bug 1152358] [NEW] Right-click immediatly followed by a left-click

2013-03-07 Thread Mediaklan

 *** 1:0.19.0-0ubuntu1 0
 3 & 4. Sometimes, a right-click with the pen over something (e.g a file or an
icon in tray) seems immediatly followed by a left-click on menu first-entry,
which cause unexpected behaviour etc ...
Some further research shows that is not, in fact, a left-click but rather
another unexpected right-click. This second right-click acts as a left-click in
most menus in Xubuntu.

- I think I should be able to prevent this behavior if there was a way
to set up the time between two right-clicks, but I was not able to find
a way to achieve this ("TapTime" xsetwacom option not working as
expected)

please run 'apport-collect 1094671' from the affected system.

[Bug 1114856] Re: power button not working when Samsung laptop is booted in CSM mode; works fine in EFI mode

2013-03-07 Thread Val
Allright. Once acpi=noirq is removed from the command line, power button
starting working just fine.

@Joseph: do you want me to post log files with "acpi=noirq" removed?

The still unexplained phenomenon is: in the UEFI mode, power button
works fine regardless of whether acpi=noirq is present or not. In the
CSM mode, power button does not work when acpi=noirq is specified.

[Bug 1081182] Re: issues accessing /sys/hypervisor/uuid when rebooting VM

2013-03-07 Thread Bob Ball
We've identified a workaround that can get the VM uuid:

root@ubuntulucidlynx1004:~# xenstore-read domid
2
root@ubuntulucidlynx1004:~# xenstore-read /local/domain/2/vm
/vm/6fddd486-b376-647d-d7d4-9acf0e164722

It is the /vm/ path which has the incorrect permissions, however
the UUID is in /local/domain//vm which is all that is needed for
nova to identify itself to the host.

2013-03-07 Thread Val
Joseph, I have just posted a tgz with the requested output.

It looks like I should try booting the installed version without
acpi=noirq. Right?

[Bug 1083542] Re: sudo dpkg-reconfigure maas-cluster-controller breaks

2013-03-07 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package maas - 1.3+bzr1452+dfsg-0ubuntu1

---
maas (1.3+bzr1452+dfsg-0ubuntu1) raring; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
- MAAS file storage mechanism is shifting from a single shared
  namespace to a per-user namespace. Operators of the majority
  of MAAS systems will not notice any change. However, operators
  of the most complex installations may find that a new
  "shared-environment" user is created, and that some resources
  are reassigned to it, such as API credentials and SSH public
  keys. This provides a transitional environment that mimics the
  behaviour of a shared namespace.

  [ Raphaël Badin ]
  * debian/control: maas-region-controller depends on bind9utils.
(LP: #1103195)
  * debian/maas-dns.postinst: Call write_dns_config.
(LP: #1085865).
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.postinst: Fix the name of the config
file (/etc/maas/pserv.yaml and not /etc/maas/pserv.conf)
(LP: #1083542).
  * debian/extras/99-maas-sudoers: Add 'SETENV:' to sudo rule
to allow preserving the environment when running
/usr/sbin/maas-import-pxe-files via sudo.
  * debian/maas-dns.postinst: fix permissions and group ownership of
file /etc/bind/maas/named.conf.rndc.maas. (LP: #1066935)
  * debian/control: Remove the dependency of maas-cluster-controller
on rabbitmq-server. (LP: #1072744)
  * debian/extras/99-maas-sudoers: Add sudo rule for script
/usr/sbin/maas-import-pxe-files.
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.install: Removed commissioning-user-data
script.

  [ Julian Edwards ]
  * debian/maas-region-controller.install: Remove installation of maas-gc; it
is no longer required as upstream no longer stores files in the filesystem.
(LP: #1069734)
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.postinst: Ensure that /etc/maas/pserv.yaml
is updated when reconfiguring. (LP: #1081212)

  [ Jeroen Vermeulen ]
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.install: Install import scripts.
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.postinst: Configure tgt (the iSCSI server)
so the import script can install files to it.
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.postrm: Clean up tgt config.
  * debian/maas-region-controller.install: Move import scripts out to the
cluster controller, and drop the maas-import-isos compatibility script.
  * debian/maas-region-controller.postinst: Remove tgt config.
  * debian/maas-region-controller.postrm: Remove tgt config cleanup.
  * Bump code revision to include latest user_data.template fixes.

  [ Gavin Panella ]
  * debian/extras/99-maas: squashfs image download is no longer needed.
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.install: maas-import-squashfs and its
configuration file are no longer part of upstream.
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.install: The maas-import-pxe-files cron
task is no longer used.
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.postinst: Remove leading comment
markers from the 'generator' line in pserv.yaml.

  [ Andres Rodriguez ]
  * debian/control:
- maas-cluster-controller Conflicts with tftpd-hpa (LP: #1076028)
- maas-dns: Conflicts with dnsmasq
- maas-cluster-controller Conflicts/Replaces maas-region-controller as
  import scripts are no longer shipped in the region.
- debian/control: Depends on distro-info for maas-cluster-controller
  instead of maas-region-controller (LP: #1103194)
  * debian/maas-cluster-controller.config: If URL has been detected,

[Bug 1138473] Re: libunity-webapps pulls gtk 3 in to Firefox

2013-03-07 Thread Alexandre Abreu
** Description changed:

+  [Impact]
+
  See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=846863.

  This didn't really appear on the radar because of a problem with debug
  symbols for system libraries, but now that's been fixed this week.

  libunity-webapps is pulling gtk3 in to the address space of Firefox
  (which is gtk2). They absolutely do not work along side each other in
  the same address space (gtk2 refuses to even initialize if it detects
  gtk3 symbols in the same process, but this check is bypassed because
  it's initialized before libunity-webapps is loaded), and having them
  both in the same process is not supported in any way whatsoever.

  I've no idea why this has only started being a problem now (perhaps it's
  the cause of a lot of random crash bugs / hangs that we get reports of).
  I can only think that Firefox used to do something on startup that
  indirectly caused the registration of the GdkKeymap type (in gtk2)
  before the webapps addon loaded, and now that doesn't happen until
  afterwards - by which point it has been registered in gtk3 code, which
  results in type registration failing later on and then it's a
  guaranteed crash.

  This is the sort of problem that's likely to explode due to a slight
  change in wind direction, which has now happened. For people
  experiencing this, it's a startup crash (meaning that Firefox is
  completely unusable for an unknown number of our users).
+
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ - Launch Firefox with the webapps extension installed and the fix,
+ - Go to a webapp supported website (e.g. Twitter), and validate that no crash
occurs,
+ - Validate that firefox does not have a memory region where the gtk3 .so is
loaded by looking at it's /prox/maps
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ Very slim, since only the tools/ found in the libunity-webapps source
+ package are impacted and the bit that was binding to gtk3 has been
+ removed and was not used by FF.

[Bug 1137817] Re: System freeze after high memory usage (Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit on ivy bridge HD4000)

2013-03-07 Thread rsoika
Since I installed kernel version 3.8.2 I did not see the freeze I described
here. So for the moment I believe (hope) this kernel solves the problem I
reported here.
I have had only two unexpected shutdowns when the system idles for long time.
But this is a complete different situation as I described. So I did not think
this is related.

I will continue watching the system some more days and report when the
freeze occurs again.

Can you tell me what the kernel option "i915.i915_enable_rc6=0" is
causing? Should I enable the option yet?

[Bug 1081691] Re: Launcher - Update the icons used for the Software Centre, Nautilus, and Software Updater

2013-03-07 Thread Alin Andrei
Mm after the Humanity icon theme update from a few minutes ago, the
Software Updater icon did change, but the Nautilus icon didn't. The only
way to get the new Nautilus icon is to switch to the Humanity icon
theme, but it doesn't work with Ubuntu-mono icon theme for some reason.

[Bug 1083032] Re: Video driver not working for Savage chipset

2013-03-07 Thread Tormod Volden
22 hours and no response, what a useless testing crowd. I uploaded a
patched xorg-server-lts-quantal to my PPA as well and tested it on my
Precise setup. It now works better when using EXA (kernel module gets
loaded and DRI works). But after a server restart (logout/login) it
locks up again. Without EXA (thus "Falling back to shadowfb") it is all
messed up.
