[Bug 1152359] [NEW] [FFe] sync 2.0-1 from debian/sid
Public bug reported: 0install 2.0 was recently released and just uploaded to sid. It would be good to have this newer version in Ubuntu as well. From 0install.net: 0install 2.0 brings many enhancements to the XML metadata syntax used to describe packages and their dependencies, allowing a more precise specification of their requirements. Support for using distribution- provided packages as dependencies was extended and now covers Arch Linux, Cygwin, Darwin, Debian, Fink, FreeBSD Ports, Gentoo, MacPorts, Mint, openSUSE, Red Hat, Slackware and Windows. The 0install software now supports apps, an easier way to manage 0install applications, improved diagnostics when no compatible versions can be selected, improved usability, and better support for use on headless servers. This is a universe package and we carry no deltas from Debian, so a straight up sync should be enough. The Debian version builds without problem in a local Raring chroot. If you approve the FFe, I can sync it. This bug was fixed in the package maas - 1.3+bzr1452+dfsg-0ubuntu1 --- maas (1.3+bzr1452+dfsg-0ubuntu1) raring; urgency=low * New upstream release. - MAAS file storage mechanism is shifting from a single shared namespace to a per-user namespace. Operators of the majority of MAAS systems will not notice any change. However, operators of the most complex installations may find that a new "shared-environment" user is created, and that some resources are reassigned to it, such as API credentials and SSH public keys. [Bug 1138473] Re: libunity-webapps pulls gtk 3 in to Firefox
** Description changed: + [Impact] + See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=846863. This didn't really appear on the radar because of a problem with debug symbols for system libraries, but now that's been fixed this week. libunity-webapps is pulling gtk3 in to the address space of Firefox (which is gtk2). They absolutely do not work along side each other in the same address space (gtk2 refuses to even initialize if it detects gtk3 symbols in the same process, but this check is bypassed because it's initialized before libunity-webapps is loaded), and having them both in the same process is not supported in any way whatsoever. I've no idea why this has only started being a problem now (perhaps it's the cause of a lot of random crash bugs / hangs that we get reports of). I can only think that Firefox used to do something on startup that indirectly caused the registration of the GdkKeymap type (in gtk2) before the webapps addon loaded, and now that doesn't happen until afterwards - by which point it has been registered in gtk3 code, which results in type registration failing later on and then it's a guaranteed crash. This is the sort of problem that's likely to explode due to a slight change in wind direction, which has now happened. For people experiencing this, it's a startup crash (meaning that Firefox is completely unusable for an unknown number of our users). + + + [Test Case] + + - Launch Firefox with the webapps extension installed and the fix, + - Go to a webapp supported website (e.g. Twitter), and validate that no crash occurs, + - Validate that firefox does not have a memory region where the gtk3 .so is loaded by looking at it's /prox/maps + + [Regression Potential] + + Very slim, since only the tools/ found in the libunity-webapps source + package are impacted and the bit that was binding to gtk3 has been + removed and was not used by FF. ** Branch linked: lp:~abreu-alexandre/unity-chromium- extension/fix-1138473 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1138473 Title: libunity-webapps pulls gtk 3 in to Firefox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libunity-webapps/+bug/1138473/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1137817] Re: System freeze after high memory usage (Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit on ivy bridge HD4000)
Since I installed kernel version 3.8.2 I did not see the freeze I described here. So for the moment I believe (hope) this kernel solves the problem I reported here. I have had only two unexpected shutdowns when the system idles for long time. But this is a complete different situation as I described. So I did not think this is related. I will continue watching the system some more days and report when the freeze occurs again. Can you tell me what the kernel option "i915.i915_enable_rc6=0" is causing? Should I enable the option yet? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1137817 Title: System freeze after high memory usage (Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit on ivy bridge HD4000) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1137817/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1081691] Re: Launcher - Update the icons used for the Software Centre, Nautilus, and Software Updater
Mm after the Humanity icon theme update from a few minutes ago, the Software Updater icon did change, but the Nautilus icon didn't. The only way to get the new Nautilus icon is to switch to the Humanity icon theme, but it doesn't work with Ubuntu-mono icon theme for some reason. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1081691 Title: Launcher - Update the icons used for the Software Centre, Nautilus, and Software Updater To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/1081691/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1083032] Re: Video driver not working for Savage chipset
22 hours and no response, what a useless testing crowd. I uploaded a patched xorg-server-lts-quantal to my PPA as well and tested it on my Precise setup. It now works better when using EXA (kernel module gets loaded and DRI works). But after a server restart (logout/login) it locks up again. Without EXA (thus "Falling back to shadowfb") it is all messed up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1083032 Title: Video driver not working for Savage chipset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-savage/+bug/1083032/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
