[Bug 1159440] [NEW] Nautilus not showing status bar by default

[Bug 1159201] Re: Automated "crash" report booting Lubuntu live i386 20130322
Please also see bug #1159239. Additional testing shows that this occurs with both the 20130322 and 20130323 Lubuntu i386 images and also the Ubuntu 20130324 i386 image. Additionally with Lubuntu images I get 3 to 4 minutes of pop-up messages saying "Connected", then "Disconnected" repetitively. With the Lubuntu images this happens both in the live session and post-install. But somewhat oddly I have a fully updated Lubuntu Raring that was installed with this media, "Lubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Alpha i386 (20130127)", and it works perfectly. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2013-03-24 09:19:17.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1159201/+attachment/3593991/+files/Screenshot%20from%202013-03-24%2009%3A19%3A17.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1159201 Title: Automated "crash" report booting Lubuntu live i386 20130322 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1159201/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1029790] Re: Can't boot without nomodeset option-kernel 3.5.X.X/3.6.X.X ATI M52 [Mobility Radeon X1300]
** Description changed: I'm using Ubuntu quantal (development branch), since the new 3.5 kernel coming, I can't boot I don't know where is the problem, kernel or ati module, but with 3.4 kernel there is no problem booting the Ubuntu. When choose the 3.5 kernel from grub menu and start loading, after 10-15 seconds, just freeze, and can't do anything. I tried and mainline kernel from kernel-ppa/mainline but no change, still can't boot. A Ubuntu kernel version bisect revealed that 3.4.0-5.11 works and the first problematic kernel is 3.5.0-1.1 . + + WORKAROUND: 1. edit grub command line to add 'nomodeset' and boot. + + 2. Then add 'nomodeset' in GRUB2's kernel command line (using + GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX in /etc/default/grub) and run 'sudo update-grub' + + 3. Add the following to /etc/rc.d/rc.local: + modprobe -r radeon + modprobe -r drm + modprobe radeon modeset=1 + + 4. Remove ~/.Xauthority + + 5. Reboot WORKAROUND: Use kernel parameter: nomodeset However, with nomodeset, 3D don't work correctly, cant use normal unity session, unity 2D session works but with artifacts. [Bug 1159418] Re: plug and play with thunderbolt devices was working with 3.5 but is still not working with 3.8
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected raring ** Description changed: Hi, I'm running a kubuntu raring on a sony vaio z series (svz1311c5e) and I also have the sony docking station. With the linux-kernel-3.5 I can have plug and play working with every devices of the docking station but upgrading to 3.8 the plug and play is still not working. If I connect the docking station before turning on the computer everithing works but if I disconnect and reconnect it again every device in the docking station doesn't work. The docking station is connected through light peak (thunderbolt). Using the kernel 3.5 I can unplug and plug in the docking and every devices will be refreshed, except the usb hub which is still not working. With the version 3.8 if I plug the docking station after the boot every device of the docking station doesn't work. Anyway everything works fine if I plug in the docking station before the boot. The plug and play of those devices doesn't work also with every vanilla kernel, so I think it's a patch introduced by ubuntu in the kernel version 3.5. In order to assure the support for every new vaio I suggest to include in your kernels also the last version of the module sony-laptop. This module is already included in main line but the version is outdated and several things don't work. [Bug 1159418] [NEW] plug and play with thunderbolt devices was working with 3.5 but is still not working with 3.8
Public bug reported: Hi, I'm running a kubuntu raring on a sony vaio z series (svz1311c5e) and I also have the sony docking station. I asked to the maintainer about that and he said that the module will be upgraded as soon as he can find the enough time to rewrite it in an acceptable way. Anyway the version provided by his git seems to be stable, or at least I had no problems with that. I suggest to include the last version of this module under the ubuntu kernel packages. [Bug 955269] Re: Apport bugs me and you. Reports simple things multiple times, takes user's time
I would phrase it a little differently: existing interface is not designed for typical usage. If this was userspace filesystem, the user may want to restart it immediately without waiting for the window to be sorted out, but if this was pdfgrep running from a script over collection of documents including known buggy files, may be uninterested in as much as looking at the command line one more time. So what would help is adding under other controls a few simple checkboxes with obvious logic: [ ] Automatically accept these choices for this... - [x] ...Application. - [x] ...Problem Type. - [x] ...during this session only. With possibility to reset this somewhere in setup, of course. But without any context at all what apport-gtk window asks is meaningless, thus common sense suggests showing at least executable path and package name right away, without opening anything. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/955269 Title: Apport bugs me and you. [Bug 1159414] [NEW] Xorg freeze - GPU lockup
Public bug reported: The following GPU lokcup occurs when I boot ubuntu 13.04: [ 47.900046] radeon :01:00.0: GPU lockup CP stall for more than 1msec [ 47.900053] radeon :01:00.0: GPU lockup (waiting for 0x0003 last fence id 0x0001) I switched to the Mainline kernels as per the Wiki and found I can run kernel 3.8.0-030800rc3-generic with no problems, but any attempt to run a later version of the kernel results in the lockup shown above. Have just applied the latest updates to my system whcih brought in kernel 3.8.0.14 but I still get the same problem with that. [Bug 1104476] Re: Network manager cannot connect to Eduroam (worldwide WiFi network for university students)
I'm marking this again as new, cause the definition of invalid says that it should be a support request which it is not, because canonical cannot provide support to solve it. most people don't know what a CA certificate is, so you can't leave it this way, cause they will say, that ubuntu just cannot connect and they are moving back to windows... you have to consider what normal people will think about this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1104476 Title: Network manager cannot connect to Eduroam (worldwide WiFi network for university students) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1104476/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1159409] [NEW] "Rename..." menu option falsely greyed out (still works though)
Public bug reported: After ctrl+c (copy), ctrl+v (paste) -ing a file a number of times, I went to rename the duplicates. [Bug 1071865] [NEW] Keystone PKI token length hits cookie size limit
You have been subscribed to a public bug: When Keystone's PKI tokens are enabled the length of the token itself is 3.95kb, nearly exceeding the cookie size limit without any additional data. This makes PKI tokens incompatible with the cookie session backend in Horizon. We need a way to detect/configure support for this so it doesn't bite users in unexpected ways. ** Affects: keystone (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Assignee: Gabriel Hurley (gabriel-hurley) Status: Fix Released ** Affects: keystone Importance: High Assignee: Adam Young (ayoung) Status: Fix Released -- Keystone PKI token length hits cookie size limit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1071865 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
