[Bug 1166811] Re: Cannot retweet from friends-app
Barry, please pay a little bit more attention to where you're clicking. I think you'll find that it's not "magic whitespace" but really you can click almost anywhere in the message which causes it to expand, showing replies, reply text box, retweet button, etc. Exceptions to "almost anywhere" include: clicking on the avatar at left will open a browser displaying that tweet/fb post, or clicking on an underlined link will open that link in a browser. But other than that, you should be able to click on the message body, the message title, or the margins, and have the message expand and the retweet icon become visible. I also agree that we need a better icon for the RT. The curved arrow doesn't really indicate what it is that it does. My first impression of that icon was 'open in browser' (because in my mind an arrow pointing forward-but-slightly-up means "enlarge" or "open in a larger thing") so when I clicked on it I was surprised to find a retweet took place. Ken, maybe instead of allowing clicking anywhere to expand, we put some kind of "downward chevron" icon on an explicit button that makes everything expand. Like this: http://cdn3.iconfinder.com/data/icons/minicons-ultimate-pack-arrows/100 /chevron-double-bold-4-01-128.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1166811 Title: Cannot retweet from friends-app To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/friends/+bug/1166811/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1072518] Re: Restarting network crashes (apparently) the desktop manager
It's just the way things are done for the shutdown procedure. However, the tab closes without problem, so it's not entirely horrible. http://ds9a.nl/moderne%20voedseltheorie.pdf Thanks ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: firefox 19.0.2+build1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-16.26-generic 3.8.5 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-16-generic x86_64 AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: sarnold2909 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: sarnold2909 F...m pulseaudio AuditLog: BuildID: 20130308124351 Channel: Unavailable Date: Tue Apr 9 12:14:48 2013 ForcedLayersAccel: False IfupdownConfig: auto lo iface lo inet loopback InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-10-18 (173 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120823.1) IpRoute: default via 192.168.1.1 dev wlan0 proto static 10.0.3.0/24 dev lxcbr0 proto kernel scope link src 10.0.3.1 169.254.0.0/16 dev wlan0 scope link metric 1000 192.168.1.0/24 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.1.14 metric 9 192.168.122.0/24 dev virbr0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.122.1 MarkForUpload: True MostRecentCrashID: bp-ee9d8b31-c588-4b47-b66f-53b8c2130129 PrefSources: prefs.js ProcEnviron: TERM=rxvt-unicode PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash Profiles: Profile0 (Default) - LastVersion=19.0.2/20130308124351 (In use) PulseList: Error: command ['pacmd', 'list'] failed with exit code 1: Daemon not responding. [Bug 1166813] Re: No way to configure friends-app or filter posts
My understanding is that friends-app does have some ability to filter the stream (eg, we were talking about filtering the stream to only show facebook, for the purposes of the facebook core app), though you're correct in observing that there's no UI for allowing the user to search their feeds. Should be relatively simple to do, just needs some UI to be hooked up to existing functionality under the hood. ** Also affects: friends-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: friends-app (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Ken VanDine (ken-vandine) ** Changed in: friends-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: friends-app (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** No longer affects: friends -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1166813 Title: No way to configure friends-app or filter posts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/friends-app/+bug/1166813/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Ken is the one who put together the transitional package that made gwibber force friends-app upon you, so this is his fault ;-) I feel that /usr/bin/gwibber should probably be a symlink to /usr/bin /friends-app, so that way people will get the right thing when they try to launch 'gwibber', but maybe there's a better way to handle it, I'm not sure. ** Also affects: friends-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: friends ** Changed in: friends-app (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: friends-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: friends-app (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Ken VanDine (ken-vandine) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1166815 Title: "gwibber" is still offered by command-not-found To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/friends-app/+bug/1166815/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 742326] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in CompAction::initiate()
This happened to me when I was creating a new bind to put a window on other window in compizconfig-settings-manager. I have a 2 monitor setup and I have to move windows across screens. The "Put pointer" was enabled at ' + z' when I was adding a bind for move window to other output. This is when the crash happened. Actually, I'm now seeing this on every boot after power cycle (4 in a row). Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment to this bug report it seems that there may be a problem with your hardware. I'd recommend performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. [Bug 1162259] Re: Installation crashed while installing Ubuntu 12.04 to a 64GB USB3 drive
In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New.
