[Bug 877318] Re: Nanny not working in Oneiric and Precise
Updated nanny package from ppa:boamaod/nanny-test repository (version 2.31.2~boamaod12~precise , see https://launchpad.net/~boamaod/+archive/nanny-test ) works in Ubuntu 12.04 - I've tested time restrictions and noticed only one small problem: user can login and work 5 minutes even if time is over. [Bug 1154006] Re: 12.04 freezes many times daily
I (and many others) had the same problem on ubuntu 10 (there is a 200 page thread on ubuntuforums.org about it) and now i have the same problem again after upgrading to 12.04. I tried with kernel 3.2.0-39 and 3.2.0-40 with different versions of the nvidia drivers but the freezes remain. On ubuntu 10 (Lucid) i "fixed" the problem by setting all window effects to off in gnome/compiz. Now with 12.04 and running Unity i found a similar setting after installing the Myunity package. [Bug 1172573] [NEW] Nautilus 3.6 list view adjusts size of columns frequently
Public bug reported: When viewing files in list view with Nautilus, the columns change their width back and forth when: -switching to another window -switching back to Nautilus -moving the Nautilus window -Alt-tabing between windows -right clicking to bring up the context menu -clicking on the global menu -clicking on any of the options buttons -and more! Basically doing anything but clicking on a folder or file will cause the columns to resize themselves. But this does not happen all the time... it seems like only when viewing a directory with a substantial number of files and folders, though I have folders with hundreds of images in them and it does not happen, so it's tough to pin down when it occurs. It does happen when viewing my home directory with hidden files shown. Changing the theme to Highcontrast seems to fix things, but that's not very pretty. [Bug 1159589] Re: When applying software updates, updater window disappears
I just tried the Software Updater (Update Manager) on Lubuntu 12.10, on my 450 megahertz machine, and for the first time, the window showing packages being downloaded (and later updates being applied), appeared, and did not go away, which is what I expected to happen. With faster machines, the problem of this bug-report would sometimes happen, and sometimes not. So I don't know if the problem has been fixed, or if it just got lucky this one time. But this is the first time I have ever seen it work on the 450 megahertz machine. I also tried it on UbuntuStudio 12.04 (on the 450 megahertz machine), but the problem was still evident there. So if it is fixed in Lubuntu 12.10, that fix is not in UbuntuStudio 12.04. I no longer have any Lubuntu 12.04 machines, so I can't test it on that level of Lubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1159589 Title: When applying software updates, updater window disappears To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1159589/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1172554] Re: No Global menu support for QtCreator after upgrade to 13.04
possible that I found the cause. I tried to uninstall and install different packages and I found one package which made trouble. libqtweb5 had a version which was not accepted when installing libqt5webkit5-dev installed version: libqtweb5 (5.0.1-0ubuntu2~quantal1~test3) needed version: libqtweb5 (5.0.1-0ubuntu1) my conclusion is that in the process of upgrading from 12.10 (with sdk ppa) to 13.04 the package libqtweb5 was not correctly upgraded, (maybe because the quantal version seems to be higher then the raring version). and that caused that problem. now, qtcreator has global menu. for me it is fixed. but for other which will upgrade having an ubuntu-sdk ppa installed in 12.10 will have the same problem propably. below you see a walkthough what I did and how I got it solved. Just for the matter of giving you as much information as possible. Summary: (1) I removed qtbase5-dev with all its dependencies: Removing libdbusmenu-qt5-dev ... Removing libqt5opengl5-dev ... Removing ubuntu-sdk ... Removing libqt5webkit5-dev ... Removing qt3d5-dev ... Removing qt5-default ... Removing qtsensors5-dev ... Removing qtlocation5-dev ... Removing qtdeclarative5-dev ... Removing qtbase5-dev ... (2) installed qtbase5-dev with dependencies: libqt5opengl5-dev qtbase5-dev That did not fix the problem (3) then wanted to install ubuntu-sdk again, but cound't because of the unmet dependency: The following packages have unmet dependencies: ubuntu-sdk : Depends: libqt5webkit5-dev but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. (4) so i tried to install libqt5webkit5-dev directly to get the full message: adrian@i15:~$ sudo apt-get install libqt5webkit5-dev Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done (...) The following packages have unmet dependencies: libqt5webkit5-dev : Depends: libqt5webkit5 (= 5.0.1-0ubuntu1) but 5.0.1-0ubuntu2~quantal1~test3 is to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. (5) as a result i removed libqt5webkit5 adrian@i15:~$ sudo apt-get remove libqt5webkit5 Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required: android-tools-adb libbotan-1.10-0 libqt53d5 libqt5location5 qtcreator-doc qtdeclarative5-qtmultimedia-plugin qtdeclarative5-xmllistmodel-plugin ubuntu-ui-toolkit-examples Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them. (6) next i installed libqt5webkit5 and verified that the version is not 5.0.1-0ubuntu2~quantal1~test3. now it turned out to be libqt5webkit5 5.0.1-0ubuntu1. ONLY DIFFERENCE I SEE, so I think that must have been the problem. (7) at the end i installed ubuntu-sdk which also installed dependencies like qtcreator adrian@i15:~$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-sdk Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following extra packages will be installed: libqt5declarative5 libqt5webkit5-dev qt3d5-dev qt5-default qtcreator qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu qtdeclarative5-dev qtlocation5-dev qtsensors5-dev -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1172554 Title: No Global menu support for QtCreator after upgrade to 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtcreator/+bug/1172554/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 991360] Re: isc-dhcp-client does not send hostnames in DHCPv6 by default
In light of the following changelog entry, should this report (bug #991360) be reopened? isc-dhcp (4.2.4-1ubuntu10.2) quantal-proposed; urgency=low [...] * Don't set fqdn.fqdn in dhclient.conf as that seems to confuse some DHCP servers. An alternative would have been to only set fqdn.fqdn and not host-name, but that appears to confuse another set of servers. For now go with just host-name which is the most common and if becomes a big problem for IPv6 (where fqdn.fqdn is apparently required), then we'll need to have a separate dhclient6.conf file and change all the calls to dhclient -6 to use that file instead. [Bug 1107686] Re: dhcpd: Open a socket for LPF: Permission denied
I had the same issue last night and after rechecking I found a update to isc-dhcp-server. This update fixed the error and all clients got addresses. This morning (8 hours later) the issue is back. I've checked apparmor profile and the change is in like the suggestion in the fix. When I try to start isc-dhcp-server I am getting the same error as before Apr 25 14:40:01 Server kernel: [13779.484237] type=1400 audit(1366857601.345:63): apparmor="DENIED" operation="create" parent=1 profile="/usr/sbin/dhcpd" pid=4896 comm="dhcpd" family="packet" sock_type="raw" protocol=768 The only thing is I restarted the server last night before going to bed. [Bug 1140716] Re: [regression] 3.5.0-26-generic and 3.2.0-39-generic GPU hangs on Sandybridge
Hi, this bug also happened to me in Ubuntu 12.04 AMD 64 bits, a fresh installation in a HP Pavilion G42055la with integrated Intel Graphics. I get a crash report ("system error") every day. Installation of xserver- core-video-intel resulted in a black screen before the login screen. The same occured with the installation of Intel Graphic Drivers from their webpage. I attach log files and dmesg. ** Attachment added: "Log files, dmesg, system error" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1140716/+attachment/3652837/+files/files.tar.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1140716 Title: [regression] 3.5.0-26-generic and 3.2.0-39-generic GPU hangs on Sandybridge To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1140716/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
