[Bug 377322] Re: Nautilus sftp connection breaks spontaneously after a while, needing re-login to fix it
Hi Murry/Anyone else that can reproduce this bug, I have been trying all morning to reproduce your issue with a stock version of gvfs and have so far had no luck (although I may have uncovered some other rare bug corner cases). Can you please provide a little more information. 1. Are you on a Wired or Wireless network? 2. In the time you have connected to the sftp location is it likely that your wireless/ or even wired connection has dropped out and reconnected? 3. If you are reconnected do you always have the same IP address? 4. What exactly are you doing when you get the error message? 5. Do you still see the sftp location mounted in Nautilus after you get the error message? 6. Do you have any other Network issues when the error occurs? i.e is you network connecting working fine for everything else? 7. Is there anything else you can think of that might be helpful with reproducing this? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377322 Title: Nautilus sftp connection breaks spontaneously after a while, needing re-login to fix it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/377322/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1174944] Re: Incorrect locale interpretation regression
If we check the calendar (top right hand corner) in 13.04 with Finnish settings we see it says "la touko" (for Saturday and May). This is incorrect as both "la" and "touko" can be have the same meaning in English (abbreviated Sat and May). When we check the calendar itself we see that the week now starts from Monday, which is correct. Then we see translated dates for the week ("ma ti ke to pe la su"), which is incorrect. Then we again see "lauantai, 4 toukokuu 2013" in the heading, which is incorrect. The correct would be as it is in regional settings, "la 4. toukokuuta 2013". In Finland "4." actually means "4th", causing that you have use that "ta" ending for the month. There are regional ways to say full dates meaning you can't just pick numbers and say the same thing in different languages. I just see no reasoning why the calendar has to be in Finnish. Same problem can be seen with the "ls -l" command which simply truncates textual moths from English to Finnish but still leaving time format to incorrect "20:40", which is "20.40" in Finland. Either select US-only output or try to be consistent with outputs. But in any case the language should be correct if set in locales. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1174944 Title: Incorrect locale interpretation regression To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1174944/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1002187] Re: Skype won't start (segmentation fault)
#31 and #43 work for me with proprietary Nvidia drivers, but only up to the next time I run Nvidia driver command line installer. Apparently, the installer removes /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1 and libGL.so.1.2.0 when you install 32 bit libs (so that Nvidia's libGL.so.1 is found by the linker instead). To make the solution permanent and safe you have to manually download libgl1-mesa-glx_9.1.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb package and extract its CONTENTS/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa somewhere safe, and where the linker won't find it by default (I've put it to /usr/local/lib/i386 -linux-gnu/skype_mesa). Then modify /usr/bin/skype to preload libGL.so.1 from that location instead. So in my case it looked like this: export LD_PRELOAD="/usr/local/lib/i386-linux-gnu/skype_mesa/libGL.so.1${LD_PRELOAD:+:}$LD_PRELOAD" exec /usr/lib/skype/skype "$@" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1002187 Title: Skype won't start (segmentation fault) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/skype/+bug/1002187/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1099218] Re: Banshee does not start, only shows greyed out window
I am also having these difficulties. The Streamrecorder extension kept freezing/crashing Banshee immediately after startup. The workaround given in #6 will help you disable problematic plugins. Edit ~/.config/banshee-1/addin-db-001/config.xml in a text editor, and set every "enabled" attribute to "false". Try re-enabling plugins until it crashes. [Bug 1174944] Re: Incorrect locale interpretation regression
Don't know about bug 1072019 but sounds similar. There has been a locale change in 13.04. From my locales (untouched): LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LANGUAGE= LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_NUMERIC=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_TIME=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MONETARY=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8" LC_PAPER=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_NAME=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_ADDRESS=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_TELEPHONE=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_MEASUREMENT=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_IDENTIFICATION=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_ALL= Now the locale in 13.04 looks correct to me. Before it was incorrect (in 12.10). I don't know how many packages there are having this problem but it's probable now that full translation (if language is available) is done in several applications. Just checked the Regional options: "Display numbers, dates and currency amounts in the usual format for:". It is clearly a bug if country specific setting here simply overwrites the language setting.

[Bug 1176280] [NEW] "The password you use to log in to your computer no longer matches that of your login keyring." error after upgrade
Public bug reported: I upgraded network-manager-gnome today on 12.04 LTS to 0.9.4.1-0ubuntu2.3, restarted, and got the "The password you use to log in to your computer no longer matches that of your login keyring." error from the keyring. [Bug 1175402] Re: Failure to find SSD and HDD
Phillip, Chased around and fiddled. Finally rebooted and applied dmraid -r -E. Cleared flags on two disks. Continued on with the ubiquity install process. Setup free space and swap space, etc. Process continued intil it complained about not being able to creat the swap file. Everything. Kill the box and reboot. Removed the USB flash and came to "no partitions", grub rescue on a "win7" boot, which is about what I thought may occur. Plugged the USB back in. Booted up and into the installation process. Sailed through the install process until choices about what and where to install. Chose custom and installed Mint in a new partition and swap space. All installed OK, up and running and I am using it to look at the disk environment. I have used around 40% of the HDD and there are three partitions on the SSD. No sign of raid anywhere. So I can probably work my way through things on the disks, re-arrange partitions on the ssd and the hdd and do a fresh install on the ssd. Woops, whats this scrambled display after boot, oh dear something about "nomodeset", can currently get around it by shutting the lid, waits until things close down then hit the power button. All OK, more research. Woops again, no wireless, the realtek drivers are missing, there is an install and fix process somewhere.. Ithought computers were supposed to be tools to do work, not something you spend your time working on. [Bug 390319] Re: Ubuntu does not automatically check for updates, even when set to
Now that I remember, when I was upgrading this machine to 13.04, my system partition was running out of space, and I don't know what I was thinking but I issued a "apt-get clean" in the middle of the upgrading process. This obviously aborted the upgrade and I had to finish it "manually", this may show up in the logs above. [Bug 1175402] Re: Failure to find SSD and HDD
Phillip, Set up some of the spare space as an ext4 partition with a boot point of / Created a smaller partition for swap. Tried an install via ubiquity. Long paiuse and then a "where are you?" form appeared (on the bottom a guage with "detecting file systems" at 100%. Map of world and time zones. Then a small error window popped up, 12*? and an OK button. Cannot get rid of that error form, all stopped. Rebooted win 7 OK, looks like discs are still intact. Rebooted mint. Nothing in /dev/mapper. Used dmraid -ay again. Tried the install, same error message with 12*?. This time a click and it dissapeared. Could set the time zone. Clicked continue and I get a form "erase disk and install Linux Mint". Select drive: Serial ATA RAID isw_... (stripe) - 12.0 GB Linux device-mapper (linear). And a similar choce for a 20 Gig "cache". Hmmm, looks like the SSD and the way it is split for windows. No sign of any other disk space. Clicked on the "advance partitioning tool: and after a long delay I am back at the "installation type" form. I note that the boot point and the "swap" type are not displayed on the partitions I created. I will search on, perhaps bite the bullet and try dmraid -E. [Bug 1175402] Re: Failure to find SSD and HDD
Phillip, Chased around the web, read the FakeRaidHowTo and also a good article on setting up "fakeraid" when building an "arch" Linux system. Performed a bootload from the USAB, invoked dmraid and had a look around. I have an Intel Software raid (isw), SSD and HDD, etc. Had a look at things with dmraid -r, -l, etc. Came to dmraid -ay in the arch doco. Well, why not. Read the arch doco and then checked /dev/mapper and there a bunch of files in there, hmm. Tried ubiquity, long pause on the "installation type" form and then suddenly all the drives, partitions and free space appeared. >From the "add" button I could create a primary partition in the free space. [Bug 1176062] Re: 13.04 (raring) system crash with Firefox or Thunderbird
** Description changed: When starting up either Firefox or Thunderbird, the system freezes. First the cursor usually freezes and no input is possible, but the desktop display remains, sometimes for a few seconds. Then a pattern of horizontal bars appears on the screen. The bars are about two or three inches wide and about an eighth of an inch high, in various shades of color or black and white. Each thin horizontal bar looks like it is a sliver copied from the display picture that existed on the screen before the crash. System almost always crashes when I click on an e-mail link in Thunderbird, as soon as the system attempts to start up the Firefox browser. System frequently crashes if I attempt to start up either Firefox or Thunderbird after I have previously run the other application. So, if I run Thunderbird and close it, then try to run Firefox, a crash occurs. Or if I run Firefox and close it, then try to run Thunderbird, I get a crash. System occasionally crashes the first time I try to run either Firefox or Thunderbird, even when I have never opened either application previously during the session. Basically, I can only use either Firefox or Thunderbird once, or sometimes twice, per session, before the system freezes and requires a cold boot. + System crashed after leaving it for a few hours. The screen saver + blanked out the screen by that time, I move the cursor, the application + I had been using appeared briefly (it was a Sudoko game I had been + playing a few hours earlier), then the lines appeared in its place and + the system froze. + Pressing Alt+SysRq+1 followed by Alt+SysRq+t does nothing. It is a total system freeze and requires a cold boot. Problem began after installing upgrade to Ubuntu 13.04 (raring). My system is: Ubuntu 13.04 (raring) Gnome 3.6.3 Kernel 3.8.0-19 generic GCC Version 1.13.3 CPU Athentic AMD Model AMD Athlon 7850 Dual-Core Graphics Card: NVIDIA C61 (GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1176062 Title: 13.04 (raring) system crash with Firefox or Thunderbird To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1176062/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
