[Bug 1174944] Re: Incorrect locale interpretation regression
Don't know about bug 1072019 but sounds similar. There has been a locale change in 13.04. From my locales (untouched): LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LANGUAGE= LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 LC_NUMERIC=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_TIME=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_COLLATE=en_US.UTF-8 LC_MONETARY=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8 LC_PAPER=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_NAME=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_ADDRESS=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_TELEPHONE=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_MEASUREMENT=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_IDENTIFICATION=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_ALL= Now the locale in 13.04 looks correct to me. Before it was incorrect (in 12.10). I don't know how many packages there are having this problem but it's probable now that full translation (if language is available) is done in several applications. Just checked the Regional options: Display numbers, dates and currency amounts in the usual format for:. It is clearly a bug if country specific setting here simply overwrites the language setting. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1174944 Title: Incorrect locale interpretation regression To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1174944/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This bug seem to be misclassified. If I understand it correctly, it is a request for not using libpam-sss and libpam-mklocaluser together if you want to use libpam-mkhome instead of libpam-mklocaluser. [Bug 1002187] Re: Skype won't start (segmentation fault)
#31 and #43 work for me with proprietary Nvidia drivers, but only up to the next time I run Nvidia driver command line installer. Apparently, the installer removes /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1 and libGL.so.1.2.0 when you install 32 bit libs (so that Nvidia's libGL.so.1 is found by the linker instead). To make the solution permanent and safe you have to manually download libgl1-mesa-glx_9.1.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb package and extract its CONTENTS/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa somewhere safe, and where the linker won't find it by default (I've put it to /usr/local/lib/i386 -linux-gnu/skype_mesa). Then modify /usr/bin/skype to preload libGL.so.1 from that location instead. So in my case it looked like this: export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/local/lib/i386-linux-gnu/skype_mesa/libGL.so.1${LD_PRELOAD:+:}$LD_PRELOAD exec /usr/lib/skype/skype $@ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1002187 Title: Skype won't start (segmentation fault) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/skype/+bug/1002187/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1174944] Re: Incorrect locale interpretation regression
If we check the calendar (top right hand corner) in 13.04 with Finnish settings we see it says la touko (for Saturday and May). This is incorrect as both la and touko can be have the same meaning in English (abbreviated Sat and May). When we check the calendar itself we see that the week now starts from Monday, which is correct. Then we see translated dates for the week (ma ti ke to pe la su), which is incorrect. Then we again see lauantai, 4 toukokuu 2013 in the heading, which is incorrect. The correct would be as it is in regional settings, la 4. toukokuuta 2013. In Finland 4. actually means 4th, causing that you have use that ta ending for the month. There are regional ways to say full dates meaning you can't just pick numbers and say the same thing in different languages. I just see no reasoning why the calendar has to be in Finnish. Same problem can be seen with the ls -l command which simply truncates textual moths from English to Finnish but still leaving time format to incorrect 20:40, which is 20.40 in Finland. Either select US-only output or try to be consistent with outputs. But in any case the language should be correct if set in locales.

Do you still see the sftp location mounted in Nautilus after you get the error message? 6. [Bug 1174169] Re: Minimum and maximum cpu frequency are equal
I have an HP notebook. For me the problem arises precisely when on battery. When on AC the system scales correctly, both with battery in or off its location; just pull off the AC charger and the max frequency locks down to 800MHz per preocessor, which actually is the minimum possible. So the issue is probably related to power management. A fast heuristic test: time 'google-chrome' - on AC: 0.559s; just pull of the AC charger: 1.495s I'm with kernel 3.8.0-19-generic. I've tried with two different batteries, no luck with both. @Atanas: the issue is solved for you both with AC and on battery? [Bug 1176291] [NEW] LibreOffice 4.0.2.2: Calc gives Err:504 when external sheet is used with SUMIF() function.
Public bug reported: I’m experiencing Err:504 using SUMIF and external sheets. I’m using LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 installed by default with Ubuntu 13.04. I’ve attached “test_SUMIF-with-external-sheet.zip”. Just unzip and copy the “external.ods” and “main.ods” files to “/tmp”. Open “main.ods”, you should get an “Err:504” with the SUMIF function. [Bug 1176293] [NEW] Window border is ignored when window is maximised
Public bug reported: When an application is started maximised (compiz remembering position and size from last invocation by enabling window placement), compiz ignores the top window border, so you cannot use the icons from the window decorator (such as maximise or minimise). Steps to reproduce: 1. Start application 2. Maximise using window manager with decorations or with keyboard 3. Quit application 4. Restart application (will appear maximised) 5. Clicking on any decorator button will have no effect Using Mate as desktop environment and Emerald as window decorator. Moving the Mate menubar to the screen bottom or hiding it made no difference. [Bug 377322] Re: Nautilus sftp connection breaks spontaneously after a while, needing re-login to fix it
Ok, after doing some reading about the TCP keep alive option I think I have found the explanation for the issue you describe. For reference here is an extract from: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/TCP-Keepalive- HOWTO/overview.html --- 2.4. Preventing disconnection due to network inactivity The other useful goal of keepalive is to prevent inactivity from disconnecting the channel. It's a very common issue, when you are behind a NAT proxy or a firewall, to be disconnected without a reason. This behavior is caused by the connection tracking procedures implemented in proxies and firewalls, which keep track of all connections that pass through them. Because of the physical limits of these machines, they can only keep a finite number of connections in their memory. The most common and logical policy is to keep newest connections and to discard old and inactive connections first. Returning to Peers A and B, reconnect them. Once the channel is open, wait until an event occurs and then communicate this to the other peer. What if the event verifies after a long period of time? Our connection has its scope, but it's unknown to the proxy. So when we finally send data, the proxy isn't able to correctly handle it, and the connection breaks up. Because the normal implementation puts the connection at the top of the list when one of its packets arrives and selects the last connection in the queue when it needs to eliminate an entry, periodically sending packets over the network is a good way to always be in a polar position with a minor risk of deletion. _ _ _ | | | | | | | A | | NAT | | B | |_| |_| |_| ^ ^ ^ ||--- SYN --| ||- SYN/ACK | ||--- ACK --| | | | | | --- connection deleted from table | | | | | PSH | --- invalid connection | | | | --- I guess the first step from here is to see if some firewall software can be used to drop these connections after say 30 seconds so that this scenario can be reproduced more easily then a fix for gvfs can be worked on. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377322 Title: Nautilus sftp connection breaks spontaneously after a while, needing re-login to fix it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/377322/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1176282/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. I'm working with 10gen upstream to get the OpenSSL linking exception written into the License for MongoDB. [Bug 1171825] Re: Gameplay cannot start in Hedgewars 0.9.18-0.2ubuntu1
** Description changed: Hedgewars gameplay cannot start in Ubuntu 13.04. Whatever game type is chosen, one just gets a stuck string In game... and some fullscreen background, and that's it. It doesn't go as far as to load any level, therefore nothing works. The only option left is just closing it with ALT+F4. There are no error or warning messages when launching from a terminal so I have no idea what's happening. I've tried running it on two machines, one with Intel 965 and another with HD3000. I assume SNA acceleration is enabled on both machines as per Raring Ringtail's default policy.
