still have not HDMI sound :-( I'll try updating to the proposed kernel

[Bug 295014]

2013-05-14 Thread Norbert
I tested many versions of LibreOffice and AOO on different OSes:
* Debian 6 with "OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 OOO320m19 (Build:9505) ooo-build 3.2.1.4,
Debian package 1:3.2.1-11+squeeze8";
* Windows 7 Starter SP1 with "OpenOffice.org 3.4.1
AOO341m1 (Build:9593) - Rev. 1372282";
* Debian 7 with LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2);
* Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS with LibreOffice 3.5.7.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2)
* Ubuntu 12.10 with Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:2));
* openSUSE 12.3 "Dartmouth" with Version 3.6:build-304 (Build ID:
360m1(Build:304));
* Fedora 18 with Version 3.6.6.2 (Build ID: 3.6.6.2-5.fc18);
* Fedora 19 with Version 4.0.3.1 (Build ID: 4.0.3.1-2.fc19) and Version 4.0.3.3
(Build ID: 4.0.3.3-1.fc19);
* Ubuntu 13.04 with Version 4.0.2.2 (Build ID: 400m0(Build:2));
* Windows 7 Starter SP1 with LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 (ID сборки 4c82...49c3) and
Версия 4.0.3.3 (ID сборки: 0eaa50a932c8f2199a615e1eb30f7ac74279539).

My conclusion - both AOO and LO have not fixed this bug for 9 (nine !!)
years.

Please fix it.
It's very annoying, and it may scare away users, which are going to switch from
Microsoft Office to Apache OpenOffice.
And as Romano Giannetti said it's "Still a big problem in interoperability".

[Bug 1064560]

2013-05-14 Thread lengo
Running 4.0.2.2 and it crashes every time I try to save a file with
tables, pictures, different field types, footnotes, and comments, etc.,
to .rtf. I don't try to save to .rtf often, so I'm just noticing this
behaviour now. Saving to .pdf, .doc, .docx all work fine.

Still here in 4.0.2. Now is even more confusing; we have both "highlighting"
and "background color" on the toolbar, but highlighting is still incompatible
with Microsoft Office.
Still a big problem in interoperability.

[Bug 1178618] Re: add a command to detect function key status.

2013-05-14 Thread Hsin-Yi, Chen (hychen)
@Colin , @James

Yes, I understand the patch is not perfect solution, user will need to
repeat key pressing until it is trigged.

The author of the patch , Cyrus have tried the menuentry --hotkey
option, but It does not fit our need because we hope the hotkey can
still be trigged even menu is hidden (like sleep command does).

by current design, the --hotkey option only works when menu is not
hidden .

[Bug 1070677] Re: Xorg fails to start because of Radeon Issue [(EE) RADEON(0): [drm] failed to set drm interface version]

2013-05-14 Thread MarcS
Seeing the same thing here, on Ubuntu 12.04. Graphics adapter (lspci) is
"Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Caicos [Radeon HD 7000 Series]",
xserver-xorg-video-ati at "1:6.14.99~git20111219.aacbd629-0ubuntu2".

The "start lightdm" workaround works for me aswell, although I have to
*re*-start it, as it claims to be already running.

[Bug 1180202] Re: Properties window is not usable

2013-05-14 Thread Sundberg Pauli
Thanks!

Two ways to get around this problem:
1) Use option '--use-old-panels' when starting paraview
2) Remove the suggested plugin at:
/usr/lib/paraview/plugins/libPointSprite_Plugin.so. Removing from 'manage
plugins' view after paraview had loaded did not fix the issue (bit weird?)

Anyway, if other stumble upon this, i think you refer to this bug [1].

The problem is known and just fixed by upstream.
For a workaround, disable PointSprite plugin.

[Bug 1179997] Re: stackapplet 1.4 broken, please bump the version in the Ubuntu Software Center

2013-05-14 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package stackapplet - 1.5.1-1

---
stackapplet (1.5.1-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release (LP: #1179997).
  * Use the Launchpad page for both the homepage and watch file.
  * Use my @debian.org address in Uploaders field.
  * Use dh_python2 (Closes: #652303).
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.4, no changes needed.
  * Depend on libjs-jquery, and don't ship the embedded copy.
  * Bump debian/compat to 9.
  * Run wrap-and-sort on the control file.
  * Convert debian/copyright to machine readable format.

[Bug 1180202] Re: Properties window is not usable

2013-05-14 Thread Sundberg Pauli
Just to clarify: the properties window scrollbar on left to right: it
'extends' when something is loaded, when no result is loaded its proper.
And this is not only .ply files loading: after loading .mhd file the
same happens.

[Bug 1180202] [NEW] Properties window is not usable

2013-05-14 Thread Sundberg Pauli
Public bug reported:

Attached is screenshot (and the file with the bug is reproducable) showing the
problem best:
properties toolview (at right lower corner) is very large: only small partition
can fit in full 1920 screen (you can see the scrollbar -- long way to go). This
is regression at some package, since older version it showed up properly.

Problem continues if the toolview is detached.

[Bug 1180196] [NEW] qmake -query is reporting the default Qt version as 4.8.4

2013-05-14 Thread Nathan Osman
Public bug reported:

I have installed the qt5-default package. However, running "qmake
-query" results in the following output:

...
QMAKE_VERSION:2.01a
QT_VERSION:4.8.4
...

It would appear as if the default Qt installation is improperly set to
Qt 4.8.4 (which I happen to have installed). Running "which qmake"
confirms this:

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt4/bin/qmake

I am currently running Kubuntu 13.04 (64-bit) which I upgraded to from
Quantal. When using Quantal, I had installed Qt5 from the Qt5-Edgers
PPA. However, I have removed the PPA from my system (although that was
really unnecessary since there are no packages for Raring in the PPA). I
have reinstalled the qt5-defaults package a number of times but nothing
changes.

[Bug 1176686] Re: qtchooser does not properly work with multiarch

2013-05-14 Thread Timo Jyrinki
Hi. Thanks for the good thoughts, they clarify things well. I think I'd
be fine with both qtchooser not handling qdbus and binary moving away
from multi-arch directory. Although the direct /usr/bin/qdbus symlink
would be problematic since the executable inside qdbus-qt5 package is
still called just 'qdbus' like the Qt4 version, and it should be allowed
to be used.

Crucially though, I'd like to have the same solution as Debian will
have, and I haven't yet had the time to bring the topic fully to them
(via #debian-qt-kde @ OFTC). If I remember correctly it was very briefly
thought about, mainly the first question was that why would anyone want
to install/use the 32-bit versions (but of course, lack of support in
qtchooser for that is still an omission). The related Debian git:s are
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-kde/qt/qtchooser.git;a=summary ,
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-kde/qt/qttools.git;a=summary
(qdbus-qt5) and http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-
kde/qt/qtbase.git;a=summary (configuration of bindir).

Re: [Bug 1178248] Re: LO (4.0.3) hangs when testing mail merge settings in writer

2013-05-14 Thread Gilles Gravier
Hi!

Here is the step by step :

- Launch Writer.

- Tools->Options->LibreOffice Writer->Mail Merge E-mail

- Fill in the details (I use Gmail's smtp.gmail.com, with SSL enabled
and port 465).

- Select Server Authentication, check "Server requires authentication".

- Enter Username (@gmail.com address) and password.

- Click OK.

- Close the settings by clicking OK.

- Open Tools->Options->LibreOffice Writer->Mail Merge E-mail

- Check settings are properly memorized.

- Click "Test settings"... and that hangs.

Note... If you change the port from 465 to 587 it works fine...

[Bug 1179448] Re: 13.04 system freezes on boot and shutdown

2013-05-14 Thread Steve Langasek
This bug has been assigned to plymouth, but plymouth is the splash
screen; this is almost certainly not a bug in the splash screen itself.

When you encounter this bug, please hit the 'Esc' key to reveal the
console. Does this replace the splash screen with text? Can you take a
picture of the text and send it to this bug report? (Transcription is
ok too, but a picture is probably easier)

[Bug 1180190] [NEW] Firefox after upgrade cannot load profile

2013-05-14 Thread Sziráki Tamás
Public bug reported:

After uograde I tried to start Firefox, but this error popped up:
"Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

First time it happend when uprgaded from Ubuntu 12.10 to 13.04. At that
time I managed to repair but I think it is not normal state that every
Firefox upgrade I do this process. With the same content of
./.mozilla/firefox and ./.mozilla/firefox-trunk Firefox Nightly build
24.0a1 (2013-05-14) start without any problem, Firefox stable does not.

[Bug 764009] Re: touch typing clash with unity keyboard shortcuts

2013-05-14 Thread SoloTurn
exactly about this. open the launcher, and window switching is probably
the most essential. especially super-w is impossible to type. yet,
"good" combinations like super-g, super-v, super-b are wasted.
seriously, how often do you search videos, so you need a shortcut for
it?

btw, i did not succeed in assigning super-v instead of super-w with
compizconfig manager. super-v still opens the video search.
