I don't think this is a mythtv bug, but rather update-manager bug. I'm unsure why update-manager didn't actually set the gnome frontend rather for debconf. Public bug reported: I ran in to a lot of problems using pika, it seems that version 0.9.5 distributed with every current Ubuntu version (including raring) is quite old and full of bugs. Slight misinformation, sorry. The initial issue with the "Power management discrepancy" message was resolved after bringing in an updated kernel.
