Re: [Bug 1181183] Re: Add support for the Ubuntu SDK apps to dh_translations
David Planella [2013-05-21 12:06 -]: It seems the C++ files would currently not be able to use the Ubuntu-specific UbuntuI18n::tr() method, so for now it'd have to be _() for C++ files, but I'm discussing that with the SDK team, as it'd be nice for mixed projects (e.g. QML + C++) to use the same method to internationalize messages. Right, my concern is rather that we can't just hardcode that xgettext call into dh_translations then, as that would overwrite a previously generated .pot including the C++ msgids. So if make foo.pot or calling intltool-update succeeds, the following xgettext call would need to merge the i18n.tr() msgids, but take care to actually do overwrite an old .pot file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181183 Title: Add support for the Ubuntu SDK apps to dh_translations To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pkgbinarymangler/+bug/1181183/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1182459] [NEW] clean up root.tar.gz and fast path installer files
Public bug reported: on 13.04, after running maas-import-pxe, we end up with 2 copies of the root.tar.gz files (that are available for the fast path installer). example: /var/lib/maas/ephemeral/raring/ephemeral/amd64/20130518/dist-root.tar.gz /var/lib/maas/tftp/amd64/generic/raring/commissioning/root.tar.gz those are ~ 290M, so additional copies of all the latest is a bit heavy (4 supported releases * X arches). This whole path isn't settled, as during fast path installer development, we'll need to make a default decision between: * using 'cp -a /' from the iscsi ephemeral environment * using root.tar.gz (as we're doing now) And also on how to best distribute those. Right now the user is downloading the ephemeral filesystem image and then using 'uec2roottar' to convert it to .root.tar.gz. The general issue is that the ephemeral environment boots iscsi, and needs to be a root device (filesystem in a block device / file served by tgt) while the root.tar.gz file is ideal from a transfer-to-installer perspective. However, these files are identical from a filesystem contents perspective. Maybe we should open separate bugs, but heres the list of less-than-ideal things right now: * 2 copies of .root.tar.gz files * maas-import-pxe-files invokes uec2roottar. We'll need to decide what the best way to distribute this is, and this might involve some server side work too. * I'm pretty sure maas-import-pxe-files does more work than it needs to when there is nothing to do. We should have a --force or something option to it, but largely if there is nothign to do it should return very quickly and do *nothing*. My plan here is to implement this as a simplestreams mirror and have a cron job sync and then clean up old images. * no cleanup is done of old files (this is especially an issue if we get to a 3 week cadence or the user is using daily streams). ** Affects: maas Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: maas (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: maas (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1182459 Title: clean up root.tar.gz and fast path installer files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1182459/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1182472] [NEW] Friends does not handle Twitter replies in official way
Public bug reported: Hello, Normally on Twitter when you reply to a tweet whith many twittos involved, the default text in the answer has all the pseudos of them (with @) pre-written. Here in Friends only the @pseudo for the initial poster is put, so if we want to answer also to the others (or just some of them) we have to manually write them. As interface is for Touch, it is impossible to select text with mouse and copy, both for pseudo or for message if we want to do a citation. Also for the moment text selection is impossible in the text area but I hope it will change soon on computers when a mouse is detected. So my suggestion could be : By default for an answer, like in Twitter, put all the @ that are in the initial message. Clicking anywhere in the message opens the window for answer with these @pseusos And in addition to the RT button, add 3 other ones : Reply : to answer only to the author of tweet, which would only keep in the text area his @pseudo and delete others Reply all : like default answer, leave (or re-put) all the @pseudos in text area Quote : to do a manual RT or quote a part of the message, makes a copy of whole of it in the text area with RT before And same on Identi.ca What do you think of this idea ? DejaVu Sans is the default GUI font on Ubuntu in Uyghur language, we were able to complete more than 95% translation string into Uyghur. (That is more than 200,000 sentences!) We really hoped to use Ubuntu in our language, unfortunately, the GUI font's lack of support Uyghur language gives us a problem and challenge. Last year, one DejaVu font developer, MichaelJP, added the above 4 glyphs and their presentation forms to the font. Unfortunately, it seems that he can not commit it. I still have the copy and diff file. If you do not have enough time to develop any glyphs, can you just simply add the already made glypths to the font and commit it? Thanks - I follow you now. I've reproduced this behaviour on 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.11 (Lucid), 2.2.22-1ubuntu1.3 (Precise) and 2.2.22-6ubuntu5 (Saucy). But I can't find any regression as you describe. The init script does have access to the owner and group configured in /etc/apache2/envvars, so I think it may be a reasonable Wishlist item to have the init script automatically fix up /var/lock/apache2 for you. [Bug 1182491] [NEW] icecc always running with max_jobs=0
Public bug reported: icecc version: 0.9.8~git2012121601-0ubuntu2 Ubuntu 13.04 * How to reproduce: 1. Install icecc 2. Edit /etc/icecc/icecc.conf: 2a. Set the ICECC_NETNAME properly 2b. Set ICECC_MAX_JOBS to be greater then 0 (I've set 4) 2c. Set ICECC_ALLOW_REMOTE to yes * What you expected to happen You should be able to send and receive jobs * What happened instead The icecc cannot receive jobs. Icemon always report Speed: 0. Iceberg reports Max Jobs: 0 Technical explanation: At the login time, the node sends the chroot_possible parameter. If the scheduler receives chroot_possible set as false, the max_jobs is overwritten to zero and the node will not receive any jobs. This icecc version is calculating chroot_possible value by doing: chroot_possible = ( geteuid() == 0 ); As the daemon does not run as root anymore, chroot_possible will be set as false. There is already a patch upstream to solve this problem. It uses libcap_ng instead of check uid: https://github.com/icecc/icecream/commit/3f1ddaff89eec9421c9ab730baaff3d6471c271f ### A new bug after solving the first one... ### After apply this patch locally, the icecc started to receive jobs. But unfortunately the daemon was exiting when installing the remote environment: [7393] 10:18:39: handle_transfer_env [7393] 10:18:39: chown, chmod target Operation not permitted [7393] 10:18:39: handle_transfer_env_done [7393] 10:18:39: exit code: 0 Again a bug related to daemon uid. There is also a patch upstream that solves the problem: https://github.com/icecc/icecream/commit/6913f480b56594c4b6d888c18efd2312ba6d06be I have applied both patches locally and now my icecc is working as expected. ** Affects: icecc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1182491 Title: icecc always running with max_jobs=0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/icecc/+bug/1182491/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
