[Bug 1188216] [NEW] [MIR] gtester2xunit

2013-06-06 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Public bug reported:

[Rationale]

The new HUD uses gtester2xunit during build as a build-depends. As hud
is in main, being a very important component of Ubuntu, we also need
gtester2xunit in main. As we are upstream for gtester2xunit, we can also
guarantee support and maintenance as long as it is needed.

[Bug 1188213] [NEW] [MIR] libhybris

2013-06-06 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Public bug reported:

[Rationale]

With Ubuntu Touch related packages getting into Ubuntu, some additional
dependencies for existing packages need to be fulfilled. The libplatform
packages require libhybris, so we need libhybris to be in main as well.
Besides, currently it is a very important part of the Ubuntu Touch
system, as well as supported by the touch team.

[Bug 1188163] Re: cedarview-drm 20120717-0ubuntu1: cedarview-drm kernel module failed to build

2013-06-06 Thread Oliver Laub
After fully updating the distribution I tried to activate the proprietary
driver for that grafic chip once again. Again a failure message told me that
something went wrong.
Brightness can't be adjusted, but this time the display is bright ... which is
a bit better ...
Anyway ... it would be great if:
* the 32bit driver would work and brightness could be adjusted
* a 64bit driver would be distributed as well.

Thanks !

[Bug 1187345] Re: package grub-efi-amd64 2.00-13ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: Unterprozess installiertes post-installation-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück

2013-06-06 Thread Gerald Krottendorfer
Dear Phillip Susi

After an automatic update i restarted my laptop, which is now unable to
boot:
Error message:

error: file '/boot/grub/i386/i386-pc/normal.mod' not found
grubrescue>

I tried to run the boot repair disk, but without success.
boot repair detects EFI, and asks me to change to EFI boot, but
unfortunately I can't boot from a CD when starting in EFI mode.
I therefore have to switch to "legacy mode", which seems to be an additional
DELL option, which allows me to start from CD/DVD.

Although EFI mode is still enabled in the BIOS settings, the laptop starts
in 'legacy mode'.
same Error as described above after boot repair.

When disabling 'legacy mode', the laptop tries to boot from remote (IPV6),
which is one of the boot options available in UEFI - I guess it does so,
since it can't find a default boot mode on harddisk.

**

boot repair disk copies a log file to:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/5738801

**

These are the contents of /usr/lib/grub directory:

mylubuntu@lubuntu:/usr/lib/grub$ pwd
/usr/lib/grub
lubuntu@lubuntu:/usr/lib/grub$ ls
grub-mkconfig_lib i386-pc

**

Would be great if you could give me any advice how to restore the system
(bootloader).
thank you for your advice,
gerald

NULL terminator FIELD_END macro and we run off the end of the table.

[Bug 396237] Re: grep -Ax -q should print context but not matching line

2013-06-06 Thread Ma Xiaojun
I can understand the issue. And I've verified that grep still works in
the same way in its 2.14 version.

But if you check grep(1), you will see that the current behavior is in
line with definition of -q.

http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/raring/en/man1/grep.1.html

Maybe you can request grep upstream for the feature you want.

[Bug 1188197] [NEW] Xorg freeze on Toshiba Tecra M9 after upgrade to 12.04 during any ACPI opertions - plugging power

2013-06-06 Thread Dariusz Panasiuk
Public bug reported:

Hi

This laptop was happily running 11.10 release but started to have
problem since upgrade to 12.04.

I have tried bot 32 and 64 release of both 12.04 and 13.04 - both behave the
same: any ACPI related operation hangs system. Those operations include:
plugging in / removing power supply (every time)
switching of display (after screen inactivity)
While booting with “acpi=off” none of mentioned operations hang computer.

While PC is in this “hang” state, you can move mouse, but can not click
/ select anything. Keyboard also doesn't work, so you can not switch to
TTY console or send REISUB

Luckily I have tried nightly builds 3.10.0-999-generic kernel and it
works fine with it.

So this ticket is just to acknowledge this problem and hopefully help
any other Linux users who tried to install Ubuntu on Toshiba Tecra M9.

I have also tried to run Mint Debian edition on this laptop and it runs
fine without any tuning.

Starting from grep 2.11, -r search the currect directory when '.' is not

[Bug 1071447] Re: [bug] grep -r [ with / without piping ]

2013-06-06 Thread Ma Xiaojun
Have you checked the NEWS file?

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/grep.git/tree/NEWS#n162

I don't think it is a bug, it is a feature that break some current
script/habit unfortunately.

$ apt-cache policy virt-manager
virt-manager:
  Installed: 0.9.4-2ubuntu3
  Candidate: 0.9.4-2ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 0.9.4-2ubuntu3 0
500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Working with the local system QEMU/KVM hypervisor, when cloning a domain
and editing the Networking hardware MAC address ("Details..." button
leading to "Change MAC Address" dialog) the "New MAC" setting is ignored
and the resulting clone gets issued with a random MAC address.

This is not helpful when working with short-lived clones that are used
in iterative guest testing scenarios.

The solution is to manually fix-up the MAC using:

$ virsh edit

For the record, this could be interesting:

 markey: see NetworkAccessManagerProxy.cpp
i'm not sure I like the
 reply->deleteLater()
combined with the qDeleteAll( callbacks ) and the destructor of
CallBackData
looks like a qpointer guarded double delete

[Bug 1107642] Re: Plymouth partly working on imac 12, 1 with different results on 32bit and 64bit kernel

2013-06-06 Thread William
Hello Chris,

so the latest kernel which is now in stable contains the patches and it
does not crash the kernel anymore but i still have issues with a black
screen when plymouth is starting.

I now have found this patch and i applied it to current quantal-git and
fixes the issue.

http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git?p=ubuntu/ubuntu-
raring.git;a=commitdiff;h=d1f9809ed1315c4cdc5760cf2f59626fd3276952;hp=a10fbb4224e53c6b3528d671051be4b98bd8e9b9

Now plymouth works without issues and so is X.
Can this patch be applied to current quantal so the imac 12,1 works ok on i386
kernel?

With kind regards,
William

[Bug 1188185] [NEW] foxlib throws an error in XFE Filemanager due to Ubuntu-packaging wt Bsymbolic-Function

2013-06-06 Thread Flames_in_Paradise
Public bug reported:

foxlib1.6 is packaged with link Bsymbolic Function. This produces an
error on the mouse-right click function (e.g. File-properties, ..open
with, etc.) within the XFE-Filemanager, V 1.32.5

This is reproducable.

Reference1:
http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/universe/f/fox1.6/fox1.6_1.6.45-1ubuntu2/changelog

Remaining changes:
- Link without -Bsymbolic-functions. Wed, 30 May 2012 00:43:49 -0500

Reference2:Project-housing XFE @ sourceforge

http://sourceforge.net/p/xfe/bugs/171/ (status:closed/works for me)

So a simple rebuild of the package could fix this. Would be nice to have
it SRUed then.

Thanks in advance for helping to make Ubuntu better every day.

[Bug 99437] Re: umount: mount disagrees with the fstab

2013-06-06 Thread Fredde
I found the following solution

In fstab, this line couldn't unmount producing the "umount: mount disagrees
with the fstab" error:
sshfs#fredde@host:/dir/ /media/sshfs/mountpoint fuse user,noauto,idmap=user 0 0

Adding the option "fsname=sshfs#user@host:/dir/" did the trick:
sshfs#fredde@host:/dir/ /media/sshfs/mountpoint fuse
user,noauto,idmap=user,fsname=sshfs#fredde@host:/dir/ 0 0

The mount now shows up in Nautilus, and can be mounted and unmounted
from there like it should.

[Bug 828756] Re: getting "connection is untrusted" warnings

2013-06-06 Thread apienk
I might have a clue. The bug appeared right after I added 'empathy -h'
to auto-start applications, and it manifests on every cold (reboot) or
warm start (after hibernating). So it seems that gnome-keyring daemon is
still restarting while empathy tries to access the certificates. A
simple wait would fix it.

Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 3.2.0-47-generic amd64 using Unity shell
empathy 3.4.2.3-0ubuntu1
gnome-keyring 3.2.2-2ubuntu4.2

[Bug 815433]

2013-06-06 Thread Mark Kretschmann
For the record, this could be interesting:

 markey: see NetworkAccessManagerProxy.cpp
i'm not sure I like the
 reply->deleteLater()
combined with the qDeleteAll( callbacks ) and the destructor of
CallBackData
looks like a qpointer guarded double delete
