[Bug 1191012] Re: Microsoft LifeCam NX-3000 showing black screen
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1191012/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1167018] Re: blurred dash distorted in ubuntu 13.04 with ATI Radeon Xpress X1250 RS690
Builds seem to be originating from lp:nux rather than lp:ubuntu/nux so I've proposed a merge there. The merge proposal contains an Ubuntu patch fo debian/patches: In the Linear Sampling Blur routines: 1. Clamp the sampling in the shader to the texture. This removes the strange and ugly pattern. 2. To produce the blur, reduce the number of shader passes to those possible by using the linear sampling to sample each texel just once. ** Changed in: nux (Ubuntu) Assignee: John S. I just tried this in Raring, and there it seems avconv now (correctly) errors out if using "-preset". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1191046 Title: Avconv silently ignores (incorrect) -preset option To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libav/+bug/1191046/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1191046] [NEW] Avconv silently ignores (incorrect) -preset option
Public bug reported: Apparently avconv silently ignores a "-preset" option passed to it on the command-line. The correct option for passing a preset file is -pre, but -preset behaves differently from other incorrect options, as no error message is output and the avconv command is executed if otherwise valid. Not erroring out on erroneous usage is confusing, particularly with presets, as the output also does not specifically say when a preset *is* being applied (you have to deduce it from the data). Unless -preset is currently being used as a placeholder in the source, I suggest it be made to error out as other incorrect options do. I'm pasting output from five demonstration runs below. 1) is an example of correct usage of -pre, 2) of correct usage of -pre with non-existing preset, 3) of trying to use a non-existing option -asdf, and 4) of using -preset in place of -pre, one run with an existing and one with a non- existing preset name. 1) Correct usage of -pre, as indicated by "q=0-63" (which gets read from /usr/share/avconv/libvpx-360p.avpreset): jani@saegusa:avconv-preset-test$ avconv -y -i input.mpeg -c:v libvpx -pre libvpx-360p -an -t 1 out.webm avconv version 0.8.6-4:0.8.6-0ubuntu0.12.04.1, Copyright (c) 2000-2013 the Libav developers built on Apr 2 2013 17:02:36 with gcc 4.6.3 [mpeg @ 0x1bae9c0] max_analyze_duration reached Input #0, mpeg, from 'input.mpeg': Duration: 01:43:01.65, start: 0.184656, bitrate: 2632 kb/s Stream #0.0[0x1e0]: Video: mpeg2video (Main), yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:15 DAR 4:3], 1844 kb/s, 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc Stream #0.1[0x1c0]: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 224 kb/s [buffer @ 0x1bb0060] w:720 h:576 pixfmt:yuv420p [libvpx @ 0x1baf380] v1.0.0 Output #0, webm, to 'out.webm': Metadata: encoder : Lavf53.21.1 Stream #0.0: Video: libvpx, yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:15 DAR 4:3], q=0-63, 768 kb/s, 1k tbn, 25 tbc Stream mapping: Stream #0:0 -> #0:0 (mpeg2video -> libvpx) Press ctrl-c to stop encoding frame= 25 fps= 13 q=0.0 Lsize= 95kB time=1.00 bitrate= 778.2kbits/s video:94kB audio:0kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead 0.681033% 2) Correct usage of -pre with non-existing preset, as indicated by "could not be opened" error message: jani@saegusa:avconv-preset-test$ avconv -y -i input.mpeg -c:v libvpx -pre xlibvpx-360p -an -t 1 out.webm avconv version 0.8.6-4:0.8.6-0ubuntu0.12.04.1, Copyright (c) 2000-2013 the Libav developers built on Apr 2 2013 17:02:36 with gcc 4.6.3 [mpeg @ 0x8f99c0] max_analyze_duration reached Input #0, mpeg, from 'input.mpeg': Duration: 01:43:01.65, start: 0.184656, bitrate: 2632 kb/s Stream #0.0[0x1e0]: Video: mpeg2video (Main), yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:15 DAR 4:3], 1844 kb/s, 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc Stream #0.1[0x1c0]: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 224 kb/s Preset xlibvpx-360p specified for stream 0:0, but could not be opened. 3) Trying to use non-existing option -asdf, as indicated by "Unrecognized option" error message: jani@saegusa:avconv-preset-test$ avconv -y -i input.mpeg -c:v libvpx -asdf libvpx-360p -an -t 1 out.webm avconv version 0.8.6-4:0.8.6-0ubuntu0.12.04.1, Copyright (c) 2000-2013 the Libav developers built on Apr 2 2013 17:02:36 with gcc 4.6.3 [mpeg @ 0x6829c0] max_analyze_duration reached Input #0, mpeg, from 'input.mpeg': Duration: 01:43:01.65, start: 0.184656, bitrate: 2632 kb/s Stream #0.0[0x1e0]: Video: mpeg2video (Main), yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:15 DAR 4:3], 1844 kb/s, 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc Stream #0.1[0x1c0]: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 224 kb/s Unrecognized option 'asdf' Failed to set value 'libvpx-360p' for option 'asdf' 4) Now, using -preset instead of -pre, regardless of validity of the parameter passed to it, the preset specified is not loaded, as indicated by "q=-1--1", but no "Unrecognized option" error occurs: jani@saegusa:avconv-preset-test$ avconv -y -i input.mpeg -c:v libvpx -preset libvpx-360p -an -t 1 out.webm avconv version 0.8.6-4:0.8.6-0ubuntu0.12.04.1, Copyright (c) 2000-2013 the Libav developers built on Apr 2 2013 17:02:36 with gcc 4.6.3 [mpeg @ 0xbe69c0] max_analyze_duration reached Input #0, mpeg, from 'input.mpeg': Duration: 01:43:01.65, start: 0.184656, bitrate: 2632 kb/s Stream #0.0[0x1e0]: Video: mpeg2video (Main), yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:15 DAR 4:3], 1844 kb/s, 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc Stream #0.1[0x1c0]: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 224 kb/s [buffer @ 0xbeef60] w:720 h:576 pixfmt:yuv420p [libvpx @ 0xbe7380] v1.0.0 Output #0, webm, to 'out.webm': Metadata: encoder : Lavf53.21.1 Stream #0.0: Video: libvpx, yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:15 DAR 4:3], q=-1--1, 200 kb/s, 1k tbn, 25 tbc Stream mapping: Stream #0:0 -> #0:0 (mpeg2video -> libvpx) Press ctrl-c to stop encoding frame= 25 fps= 17 q=0.0 Lsize= 25kB time=1.00 bitrate= 208.2kbits/s video:25kB audio:0kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead 2.589469% jani@saegusa:avconv-preset-te

[Bug 28052] Re: Improve mouse sensitivity and acceleration settings
Okay, this bug should be closed. It's not even relevant anymore. But the new control center is still missing the option to set the acceleration properly. (There is none.) $ xset m 0 0 will fix this. I have found a way to make this auto-start each boot: 1) Open up a terminal and type: #!/bin/bash xset m 0 0 Save the file in your home folder as “mouse.sh” or anything. Just make it end with “.sh”. 2) Let’s make this file executable. chmod +x ~/mouse.sh 3) Let’s make Ubuntu run it automatically at each boot! Open up the application called “Startup Applications”, and add a new one. Name: whatever you want. Command: ~/mouse.sh ( Source that I found through Google: http://blog.repa.info/2013/06/14 /how-to-disable-mouse-acceleration-in-ubuntu-or-any-other-linux/ ) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/28052 Title: Improve mouse sensitivity and acceleration settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/28052/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Am I missing something? Is there a reason why you left > them there when removing the fontconfig-voodoo thing? It's probable they were simply missed by me back then. 30-cjk-aliases looks like it's still useful, althoug /maybe/ something which can live in fontconfig itself upstream? I'm not sure about 99-... — if nobody misses it then maybe it is time for it to go away. If kept then it needs to be fixed like all of the others (that's this bug). [Bug 1173426] Re: html - new theme - in .xml does not display with differentiation
This bug should be expanded to include all tags pairs where display differentiation would be desirable but it not present or not pronounced enough. Another example, from the desktop docs, is within the ... tags pair See also bug 1189282. I'll attach two screen shots, one from the old theme and one from the new theme. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1173426 Title: html - new theme - in .xml does not display with differentiation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/yelp-xsl/+bug/1173426/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
