I see the bugs system added sun-java6 as package. But the JRE is
JavaSE-1.7.

Thanks

And what version of gedit is in Arch?

In any event don't see this changing in 12.04 13.04 so users should
live with or find alt. means, - nano, vim, switch to pkexec, a ppa,
ect.(I use pkexec here in 12.04 thru 13.10 with no issue

13.04 users, if inclined, can upgrade to gedit 3.8 in the gnome3 ppa

[Bug 1175656] Re: nm-applet freezes

2013-07-14 Thread pureblood
I also report having the same issue. The applet not only becomes completely
unresponsive, but the sub-menus do not show up anymore. The VPN Connections
sub-menu shows as completely empty and that is how I usually realize it is
frozen. I do not know of any way for how to reproduce this issue. The following
command restores the use:
(killall nm-applet nm-applet )

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed

This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in
previous versions of Ubuntu, please do steps 1 and 2 of the SRU

[Bug 1176841] Re: Ubuntu Gnome 13.04 doesn't install the realmd package

2013-07-14 Thread Jeremy Bicha
If you want realmd installed by default in Ubuntu, realmd will need to
be in main first. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MainInclusionProcess

It doesn't need to be in main for Ubuntu GNOME but I don't think either
Ubuntu or Ubuntu GNOME wants to enable this feature by default if we
don't know whether it works with the rest of the default install. Do
lightdm and gdm both support logging in to an enterprise account?

Do you have a step-by-step guide for how to set up a server to handle
Enterprise Login requests?

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on

[Bug 1201205] [NEW] libtest-simpleunit-perl: Upstream gone?

2013-07-14 Thread Stephen Michael Kellat
Public bug reported:

Imported from Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/629291:

Source: libtest-simpleunit-perl

no longer exists; it seems that Test-SimpleUnit was removed from CPAN

The Homepage control field should at least be removed, and some
investigation about why the distribution was removed would be advisable
too.

I would try installing vlc-plugin-pulse package and using pulseaudio for

[Bug 1201215] [NEW] seahorse: Seahorse consistently crashes after selecting to view by keyring once

2013-07-14 Thread Stephen Michael Kellat
Public bug reported:

Imported from Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/714585:

Package: seahorse
Version: 3.8.2-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
When I open seahorse from the Gnome menu via Passwords and Keys as a regular
user and select view by keyring, seahorse immediately exits. It will not start
again and immediately crashes. When started from the commandline, it just
displays the following:

ray@woodrabbit:~$ seahorse
** Message: init gpgme version 1.4.1
Segmentation fault

I can start seahorse as root from the commandline and don't get an immediate
crash, however when i select any different view, there is no change in the
actual view in the GUI and the following errors are given:

(seahorse:21216): dconf-WARNING **: failed to commit changes to dconf: The
connection is closed

(seahorse:21216): dconf-WARNING **: failed to commit changes to dconf: The
connection is closed

(seahorse:21216): dconf-WARNING **: failed to commit changes to dconf: The
connection is closed

Reverting to the package in stable (3.4.1-2), all functions operate properly.
I was unable to find the debugging symbols, and can provide a backtrace if
details can be provided how to go about obtaining one. Incidentally I was also
receiving the
same Glib-GIO-WARNING messages as the commenter to bug #644623 posted on 29 Jun
2013, but I'm unable to reproduce them now.

[Bug 1201211] [NEW] fbdesk: The icons are not visible

Public bug reported:

Imported from Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/715281:

Package: fbdesk
Version: 1.4.1-10
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

When I start fluxbox by

$ xinit /usr/bin/startfluxbox

and then run (from xterm)

$ fbdesk

I see no icons on the desktop, though, according to documentation,
fbdesk should create one default icon.
(If I create ~/.fluxbox/fbdesk.icons, nothing changes).
The result is the same if fbdesk is started from ~/.fluxbox/startup.
When I choose Restart from the fluxbox menu,
the icon is seen for a moment and then disappears again.

[Bug 1201212] [NEW] f-spot: Crashes on startup

2013-07-14 Thread Stephen Michael Kellat
Public bug reported:

Imported from Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/716689:

Package: f-spot
Version: 0.8.2-5
Severity: grave

F-Spot crashes on startup even when run from a clean profile (my guest
user's home directory was completely emptied before the following run).
Don't be fooled by the No session dbus found message, this only
appears when I run under sux - guest; running f-spot in a real Gnome
session opened by guest leads to the same stacktrace.

I'm afraid I can't pinpoint when this problem started to appear, as I
don't use F-Spot as often as I used to.

[Bug 1201214] [NEW] FTBFS: Build-Depend on obsolete package libxmltooling5

2013-07-14 Thread Stephen Michael Kellat
Public bug reported:

Imported from Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/716737:

Package: qpid-cpp
Version: 0.16-7
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 7.7

For some reason, qpid-cpp Build-Depends on libxmltooling5 (the runtime
library, not a dev package). I think this is a mistake; that's an
internal library used by the Shibboleth package, and I can't imagine
what this package could use in it during the build process.

But, even if it is required, xmltooling has just been updated to the
latest upstream release, which includes SONAME changes, so the
libxmltooling5 package no longer exists.

[Bug 1201210] [NEW] golang contains binary blobs

2013-07-14 Thread Stephen Michael Kellat
Public bug reported:

Imported from Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/716853:

Package: golang
Severity: serious
User: paul...@debian.org
Usertags: ftp
thanks

Hello, Golangers,

(Thanks for maintaining go, I'm wearing my `go' shit art we speak!)

It appears there are binaries in the source tarball. Those will need to
be removed - I understand they're just for the test suite; yes, this
isn't great, but it's needed to comply with the DFSG.

In adition, re-generating src/pkg/compress/flate/fixedhuff.go at
build-time would be good as well.

In addition, y'all should be aware debian/* is licensed GPL. Since you
patch the source, this may not be doing what you intend.

Thanks!
  Paul

Bluebrave, as per
http://www.msi.com/product/nb/VR705.html#/?div=BIOSnbos=non-win%208 an
update is available for your BIOS (1.11). If you update to this, does it
change anything?

If not, could you please provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1201227] [NEW] I cannot log back in my session when my vaio laptop running kubuntu 13.04 locks the screen.

2013-07-14 Thread brujonildo
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 13.04
Release:13.04

My laptop locks the screen if left on power for long enough without
attention. When trying to log back in, I get a wrong password message
and I am not allowed to log in. I can login in a console but not reopen
the locked session. The only way I have found to keep working is to
reboot.

[Bug 1201092] [NEW] Cannot load kvm_amd module - (says disabled by bios)

2013-07-14 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

- Firt of all I would like to mention that this bug as been also raised for Red
Hat.
Here is the link: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=978608

- I am running Ubuntu Raring (with the kernel 3.8.0-27-generic), but
NOTE that I've also tried the new kernel 3.10 from Ubuntu Saucy.

- It happens with the following CPU: AMD E-350D

- The kvm-ok executable says that the system is capable of running KVM,
but it also says the it's disabled in the BIOS.

- This is the out put of kvm-ok:
# kvm-ok
INFO: /dev/kvm does not exist
HINT: sudo modprobe kvm_amd
INFO: Your CPU supports KVM extensions
INFO: KVM (svm) is disabled by your BIOS
HINT: Enter your BIOS setup and enable Virtualization Technology (VT),
and then hard poweroff/poweron your system
KVM acceleration can NOT be used

- This is what modprobe kvm-amd says:
# modprobe kvm-amd
ERROR: could not insert 'kvm_amd': Operation not supported
root@yasna:~# dmesg |tail -n1

[Bug 1201229] [NEW] Should be a choice for one graph on multicore CPUs

2013-07-14 Thread giannis
Public bug reported:

It is more than a feature missing than a bug.

System monitor should be able to set to display the CPU load in one
graph even in multicore CPU.

For exaple in a 4 core CPU when one core is loaded 100% and the other 3
are idle, it should be the choice to display that with a number of CPU
load 25%.

Windows task manager has this ability. System Monitor should have this
ability too.

[Bug 1194380] Re: [LENOVO 4243BQ9] suspend/resume failure

2013-07-14 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Tristan Tarrant, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. As per
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?selector=expand
an update is available for your BIOS (1.43). If you update to this, does
it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of
the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1176277] Re: nagios-plug-1.4.16 Compile on ubuntu 13.04 error

2013-07-14 Thread Aaron
I just changed (gets,...) to (fgets,...) worked!

/* It is very rare that the developer ever has full control of stdin,
so any use of gets warrants an unconditional warning. Assume it is
always declared, since it is required by C89. */
#undef gets
-_GL_WARN_ON_USE (gets, gets is a security hole - use fgets instead);
+_GL_WARN_ON_USE (gets, fgets is a security hole - use fgets instead);

Of course.. don't know why this worked.. seemed like a good idea at the time.

[Bug 661593] Re: Samsung R522 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 with ATI 4560 overheats running Maverick or Natty Live CD desktop 64

2013-07-14 Thread madbiologist
Proper power management for AMD/ATI Radeon R600 and newer hardware is
finally available in the upstream 3.11 linux kernel. The first release
candidate (3.11-rc1) of the 3.11 kernel is available at
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ and instructions on how
to install and uninstall it are available at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds

To use this power management for the AMD/ATI Radeon you will need to
select it at boot by adding radeon.dpm=1 to your GRUB kernel boot
options as described at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2/Troubleshooting#Editing_the_GRUB_2_Menu_During_Boot
