[Bug 1219498] Re: [Hewlett-Packard HP ProBook 4530s] suspend/resume failure
An interesting result: With 13.10, when I close the laptop lid and remove the power cable, after one night the battery will be empty and upon a fresh, powered boot I will get the crash reported here. With 12.04.3, with the closed lid & removed power cable, after one night the laptop could just start up on it's own battery that was still 100% full. IMHO this is behaviour as expected So: two problems (battery going empty and crash-report-after-boot), or one combined problem? [Bug 934095] Re: Backlight control does not work correctly on Toshiba Satellite L750-17P.
Hello all, After going a bit grey, I found that /sys/class/backlight/toshiba breaks after suspend, but /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight continues to function ('echo $number > backlight' after resume from suspend). Some great folks over at Arch have figured this one out. I have a Toshiba Portege R705, and this does the trick: Source: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel_Graphics#Backlight_not_fully_adjusting.2C_or_adjusting_at_all_after_resume. Adapting this for Ubuntu 13.04: 1) sudo vi /etc/default/grub 2) change the line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT as follows: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_backlight=vendor" 3) sudo update-grub 4) Configure X11 to use the intel_backlight. Create a file called 20-intel.conf here: sudo vi /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf 5) Paste in the following: Section "Device" Identifier "card0" Driver "intel" Option "Backlight" "intel_backlight" BusID "PCI:0:2:0" EndSection 6) Reboot and bask in glorious brightness control. Suspend/resume and it continues to function normally from the Fn-F6/F7 keys. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/934095 Title: Backlight control does not work correctly on Toshiba Satellite L750-17P. [Bug 1208204] Re: indicator-sound no longer functions with xfce4-indicator-plugin
@daniel: I don't think it is directly related to the xfce4 indicator applet - I'm testing gtk3/indicator-ng support from upstream, and with it the sound menu works fine, but bluetooth menu is still broken. So it is either unrelated bugs, or something fixed in indicator-sound and not indicator-sound-gtk2 and indicator-bluetooth (which has no gtk2 version). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1208204 Title: indicator-sound no longer functions with xfce4-indicator-plugin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-sound/+bug/1208204/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1218815] Re: [radeon] Graphic glitches and screen corruption since the latest update
Interesting the workaround would not work, because it looks like bypass mode has the wrong pixel format. But I'm also glad bypass isn't broken too. Please double-check that the workaround really does not help. Also remember to reboot. Secondly, please try this (or something like it): 1. sudo apt-get install mir-demos 2. Reproduce the corruption 3. Switch to a VT that works (Ctrl+Alt+F1) or install openssh-server and ssh in. 4. sudo mir_demo_client_egltriangle 5. Switch back to VT 7: Ctrl+Alt+F7 Now, is the triangle visible without corruption? Can you take another photo? If all else fails, are you able to look in your /var/cache/apt/archives/ and find which package version introduced the bug, by installing slightly older versions?
