[Bug 1224229] Re: Suggest to use axel instead of wget in apt-get
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1224229/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1224259] [NEW] gtk title bar over the chromium tabs
Public bug reported: Hello, I've had problem with my chromium-browser, as reported in other bug. I've decided to reinstall Ubuntu to Ubuntu Gnome 13.10. I installed all my software and after that I tried install nvidia drivers. Unfortunately, those drivers still not working for me, so uninstalled them and then I noticed that from time to time, when I run chromium gtk title bar is over the chromium bar, so I can't click anything. Public bug reported: Multimonitor performance is quite slow stutters with XMir. This does not happen with legacy X or native Mir; both of those are perfectly smooth. It's only XMir that's slow with multiple monitors. I suspect this is related to XMir's remaining buffer copies... ? [Bug 1178796] Re: [Asus UL80VT] Backlight control does not work, but there are entries in /sys/class/backlight
** Description changed: It used to work with the workaround suggested at http://wiki.daviddarts.com/Ubuntu_Maverick_on_the_Asus_UL30VT#Screen_Brightness - which modifies asus-brn-down.sh to use the "setpci" method. That - workaround probably still works with Raring. + which modifies asus-brn-down.sh to use the "setpci" method. But I had forgotten that workaround and I suspect that upgrading to Raring removed my modified scripts. So, in the original description of the bug, I thought it was a regression. But it's probably not a regression as the brightness control has apparently never worked off- the-shelf. Not working neither with linux- image-3.9.1-030901-generic_3.9.1-030901.201305080210 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.9.1-saucy/ Hotkeys are detected, showkey -s: Fn+F5: 0xe0 0x4c 0xe0 0xcc Fn+F6: 0xe0 0x54 0xe0 0xd4 I also attach the results from tests described on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Debugging/Backlight. Test with acpi_backlight=vendor: - on 3.8.0-20.31-generic, no change. But echo 8 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness makes the screen dark, moreover /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/max_brightness = 2583660 - on 3.9.1, no brightness change but the KDE notification pops up with only 3 levels (0, 53, 100%) Test with video.use_bios_initial_backlight=0: - on 3.8.0-20.31-generic, no change.
