[Bug 1224998] Re: Cache preview and thumbnail images

2013-09-19 Thread David Planella
Thanks Jussi. Would you mind elaborating a bit more on that?

It would help us very much to remove uncertainty as to whether we need
to plan for adding functionality to the Grilo QML plugin the Music app
uses to talk to mediascanner/grilo or whether we will get this
functionality transparently from the backend.

Status: NEW? This bug looks to be 8 years old!

I would ask when this is going to be fixed but I'm not stupid: This bug
will never be fixed.

Just another reason to despair about Firefox, eh?

[Bug 1227518] [NEW] CVE-2013-4315: Directory traversal with ssi template tag

2013-09-19 Thread Felix Dreissig
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

Django's template language includes two methods of including and
rendering one template inside another:

The {% include %} tag takes a template name, and uses Django's template loading
mechanism (which is restricted to the directories specified in the
TEMPLATE_DIRS setting, as with any other normal template load in Django).
The {% ssi %} tag, which takes a file path and includes that file's contents
(optionally parsing and rendering it as a template).

Since the ssi tag is not restricted to TEMPLATE_DIRS, it represents a
security risk; the setting ALLOWED_INCLUDE_ROOTS thus is required, and
specifies filesystem locations from which ssi may read files.

issued/

** Affects: python-django (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1219593] Re: Create documentation to ship in 13.10 for gtk-theme-config

2013-09-19 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package xubuntu-docs - 13.10.0

---
xubuntu-docs (13.10.0) saucy; urgency=low

  * New release. (LP: #1227275)

  [ Pasi Lallinaho ]
  * Bump startpage and entities to Saucy
  * Rename to Xubuntu Documentation
  * Fix styling inconsistencies between the Start page and the Documentation

  [ Unit 193 ]
  * Updated entities.
  * Updated Application names to friendly format.
  * Updated a moved channel.
  * Updated some formatting.
  * Updated and made additions to the networking section.
  * Added applications from the last cycle.
  * Remove Twitter mention from Pidgin information since the Twitter plugin is
broken. (LP: #1219595)

  [ Stephen Michael Kellat ]
  * Removed reference to a Qt-based application that should not be there
  * Fixed a typo on the offline applications page
  * Added mention of ideviceinstaller to media-apps as another specialized tool
for handling iPods
  * Added reference in guide-desktop to gtk-theme-config. (LP: #1219593)
  * Removed in-depth notation for offline packages on table of contents as I
never wrote what would have followed...the guide on how to sign the Ubuntu Code
of Conduct
  * Added to tip about LibreOffice in default-apps.xml a reminder from the
Ubuntu Wiki on LibreOffice to not use The Document Foundation .deb files as
they lack Ubuntu-specific patches
  * In hardware-devices.xml added tip about the sync command line coreutil
function to flush buffers in writing to disk which is handy with removable
devices
  * Amplified the caution in managing-applications.xml about having two package
managers open at once
  * Removed reference to APTonCD from managing-applications.xml since LP Bug
1175458 shows it is, as of 13.04, depending upon HAL of all things yet in LP
Bug 1221254 Martin Pitt is coordinating the drive to purge any vestiges of HAL
that remain in Ubuntu

  [ Jack Fromm ]
  * Grammar fixes and wording changes
  * Update the software-properties entity
  * Update GUI labels to match current versions
  * Added caveat about having to install restricted software to play MP3s in
gmusicbrowser.
  * Removed obsolete application recommendations (Computer Janitor Gnome
Desktop Utilities).
  * Added instructions for hibernation (LP: #1225782).

[Bug 1218973] Re: XPS 12-9Q33 touchpad not recognized

2013-09-19 Thread Wouter van der Graaf
Oddly, my xinput list says PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as well as
DLL05E3:01 06CB:2734, though I'm sure these are the same device.

Also strange: Olivier sees PS/2 Generic Mouse instead of Synaptics.
Perhaps caused by a difference in install procedure? I've dist-upgraded
from 13.04 raring to 13.10 saucy and Olivier did a fresh install of
saucy alpha. Or could a BIOS version difference be the cause? I'm on
A01, Olivier on A02. Aside from this difference, we're experiencing the
same problem.

[Bug 1227537] [NEW] crashes with gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.10

2013-09-19 Thread Tim
Public bug reported:

currently g-s-d 3.8 crashes when running gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.10
as per gnome3-team ppa. Due to some changes in how the deprecated
settings are handled.

While this fix isnt specifically required for saucy it does make things
easier for us, and it will be one less thing to worry about when it
comes time to update gsetting schemas early next cycle.

[Bug 1193136] Re: launchpad login service doesn't render in w3m

2013-09-19 Thread Colin Watson
I've uploaded an SRU for precise with the Debian patch linked above,
awaiting review.

Dave: It's up to you whether you want to keep this open on canonical-
identity-provider. Using input type=text rather than input
type=email would work around this, but that's probably deep in the
guts of Django somewhere and presumably there's a reason it's using an
HTML5-specific value for input type here. I suppose it depends on
whether any other browsers we care about have this problem.
