[Bug 1112907] Re: abort with wireless HID devices: A handler is already registered for
This second version is a bolder step, but I think it's the right thing to do. It's a little more risky than the first one, but I (and the test suite) are fairly convinced that it's correct. Pro: addresses this kind of problem for all device types under Linux, and avoids D-BUS signalling device removals/additions from upower where the device itself did not really go away, just the parental USB/bluetooth tree structure changed Con: More intrusive, could theoretically cause regressions (but I have no idea how, as upower already only uses the device name for building object names) Both patches have detailled commit messages which explain their rationale. @Richard: I recommend the second patch, but I posted both to get you a chance to compare. ** Patch added: "patch V2: generic solution" https://bugs.launchpad.net/upower/+bug/1112907/+attachment/3843905/+files/0001-linux-Track-power_supply-devices-by-name-only-instea.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1112907 Title: abort with wireless HID devices: A handler is already registered for To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1112907/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1112907] Re: abort with wireless HID devices: A handler is already registered for
I made two patches which both address this problem. The first one is a direct workaround for this particular bluetooth HID issue where the kernel creates new native sysfs devices for those after each nap. This would even still be relevant if the kernel gets fixed to actually do send out remove events properly, as we don't really want upower to signal device removals/additions all the time. Pro: unintrusive as it does not change behaviour for all other kinds of devices, suitable for a stable release update Con: rather hackish, and does not guard against similar problems with other device types ** Patch added: "patch V1: less intrusive, hackish" https://bugs.launchpad.net/upower/+bug/1112907/+attachment/3843896/+files/0001-linux-Work-around-unstable-sysfs-names-for-bluetooth.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1112907 Title: abort with wireless HID devices: A handler is already registered for To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1112907/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1231630] Re: Prints to DYMO LabelWriter 450 are cut by prints to OKI printer
Not my lucky day... Printing next jobs sequence printed 1/4 of the label on DYMO and placed the print job on hold. The OKI printer's job went to "processing - not connected?" again. In the web interface I can see "Unable to send data to printer." for the DYMO printer job and "Processing" for the OKI's printer. The attached log includes enable/disable of the OKI printer to get the page out and pressing the "play" button (release job) for the DYMO held job which printed the label from the beginning on second half of the stuck label and first half of the next. ** Attachment added: "error_log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1231630/+attachment/3843767/+files/error_log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1231630 Title: Prints to DYMO LabelWriter 450 are cut by prints to OKI printer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1231630/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 1231091] [NEW] Screenreader starts, but quits working in live session on install
What happens when you launch the live image directly to the desktop, and enable accessibility from the F5 accessibility menu? I was able to use the terminal as you described, although I had to do so after using alt tab to make sure it was switched to. I think Orca works better when nautilus properly loads, and there is a desktop frame for point of reference. THings behave correctly when I booted the live image directly to the desktop, and enabled accessibility from the boot menu. Yes ubiquity is not accessible, when being run from the live session, but that is moreso an ubiquity problem, because Orca is able to work with applications if they are running as root, including their GUI. Moving to ubiquity for now, and I'll try digging a bit further next week. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1231091 Title: Screenreader starts, but quits working in live session on install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1231091/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1231630] Re: Prints to DYMO LabelWriter 450 are cut by prints to OKI printer
Another symptom, probably the same problem: The OKI printer's jobs are not coming out. In printer's queue the job is shown as "Processing - Not connected?", while the printer is online. Attached log with "save debug information for troubleshooting" is enabled and CUPS restarted after that. The log should show 1 job to DYMO printer and 1 job to OKI printer. DYMO label looks ok, while OKI's page didn't come out. Enabling/disabling the printer in the settings will detect the printer again and print the job. ** Attachment added: "error_log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1231630/+attachment/3843756/+files/error_log ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1231630 Title: Prints to DYMO LabelWriter 450 are cut by prints to OKI printer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1231630/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1231787] [NEW] man page colors messed up just after exiting curses command
Public bug reported: This happens after exiting Vim when it uses some colors with index greater than 15. For example, run Vim (making sure it recognizes the 256-color capabilities), set a non-default colorscheme (solarized, maybe). Now, exit Vim and run `man ls`. You will notice that some text still has the background from Vim's colorscheme. If you rerun `man ls` the problem disappears. Looks like the bug is related to ncurses commands: Vim followed by man's pager (less?). But not sure if the bug is strictly within ncurses or within libvte. I'll add this to the (long) list of "things we have to be aware of when we rewrite everything from scratch, again", thanks. ** Changed in: friends (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Robert Bruce Park (robru) ** Changed in: friends (Ubuntu T-series) Assignee: (unassigned) => Robert Bruce Park (robru) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1231737 Title: please integrate with trust-store To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu/+bug/1231737/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1184165] Re: 03f0:1205 Scanner does not work: Simple scan gives a device busy error
Christopher M. Penalver, I'm in live DVD (did not fit on CD) boot ("try Ubuntu"). Looks good, if you allow me the opinion, it is much better than the other version I tried, see comments #17 and #21. Scanner does work, but I think I stated that in my initial bug report. I was not sure exactly what you wanted, so I ran apport-collect three ways. See attached file of terminal window transcript. Hope this helps.
