In all modules of kde-systemsettings, when I click in root mode, the

[Bug 803593]

2013-09-28 Thread Bmurali5128
Any chance this bug will be fixed?

I actually filed bug id 831534, which was duplicated to this. When the
messages are sorted by date and grouped by sorted fields, I see a bunch
of messages marked Today. Now if I keep deleting all e-mails that came
in today and, later on, I get a new one of the day, the message appears
but the thread is collapsed. This is irritating. This should be
relatively easy to fix, I would think (of course, not having seen the
source code, perhaps I should not generalize). It would be great if
someone can pick this up and fix it.

[Bug 1232413] [NEW] Lowlatency kernel hangs at boot, even before any text output

2013-09-28 Thread Johan Svensson
Public bug reported:

Using linux-generic is no problem, but when using linux-lowlatency it
hangs instantly at boot. Starting without quiet and splash kernel
parameters donesn't show any interesting output. Only the purple screen
with the grub echo text, Loading Linux 3.8.0-31-lowlatency... and on
the next line a cursor which is totally irresponsive to key pressing.

The computer is a ThinkPad X1 Carbon with Intel i7. I have two other
ThinkPads with Intel i7 where this problem is nonexisting. Maybe there
is some X1 Carbon specific bug/feature that is triggered by the
lowlatency patchset?

[Bug 1232414] [NEW] [USB-Audio - Sound Blaster MP3+, playback] Background white noise

2013-09-28 Thread alkhimey
Public bug reported:

A white noise can be heared from both line-out (the red and white plugs)
and the phones exit.

The white noise started only some time ago (less than half a year) but I
can not remember when exactly it was and whether it was after an update
or not.

Muting removes the white noise.

Additionaly:
- When the volume is at ~9% in the sound dialog, I can not hear anything and
the alsa mixer shous 0% at the master. But it does not go down gradualy, at 10%
I can hear 10% and then at 9% the sound is abruply gone.

- This but might be a dulicate of #304656

[Bug 958279] Re: FGLRX DPMS support totally broken, fails to wake up the monitor after putting it to sleep.

2013-09-28 Thread Mikael Nordvall
Refering my last post above;

Using xscreensaver (without using 'Display Power Management') works fine
for me, so if you encounter issues with the xorg screensaver freezing,
disabling the 'xset' screensaving features and installing/using
xscreensaver instead might be a workaround for you as well:

Install package 'xscreensaver'.

Add these two lines to ~/.xinitrc (or whatever gnome/unity/xfce/kde startup
script you have):
xset -dpms
xset s off

Set this option in /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
Option DPMS false

Configure xscreensaver with cmd 'xscreensaver-demo' and set it to use
Mode: Blank Screen Only and do NOT enable any Display Power
Management.

If you sometimes want to manually start the screen saver, use cmd
xscreensaver-command -activate'.

/Mikael

[Bug 1218224] Re: [gm45] VGA Output not activated

2013-09-28 Thread Cefn
I can confirm that this applies also to a Samsung monitor as well as the
Dell monitor, with two different, high-quality VGA cables, suggesting
that it's a driver issue. A reboot of the machine with the monitor
attached is a workaround for the issue with the Samsung as well.

[Bug 1076414] Re: Transitioning between nvidia drivers (updates, 304, 310) results in install failure due to conflicting nvidia-settings

2013-09-28 Thread Alberto Milone
Is this really still an issue?

We have 304 and 319 in precise now, so we don't need obsolete
experimental drivers (and settings panels) any more.

No, absolutely *not*. Do not pile more hacks on top of hacks. It is a bug
that /etc/adjtime is present, and it is a bug that timedated attempts to
 manipulate it in Ubuntu.

I said as long as this is the case, which means that it's valid to
make it so that it is not the case. That's what you did, which is fine
(as long as upgrades are cleaned up too). Thanks for that.

[Bug 1232426] [NEW] Saicy beta Lubuntu does not save monitor configuration

2013-09-28 Thread jerrylamos
Public bug reported:

Monitor configuration in saucy beta Lubuntu is set to turn off built in
monitor and set external monitor to 1360 instead of default 1920
(squint, hard to read read 1920x1080 on a 15.5 monitor).

Save configuration. Reboot, saved configuration is ignored and boots up
with both monitors on, 1920x1080 instead of the configuration I saved,
built in monitor off, 1360x768.

I haven't had this problem with ubuntu saucy beta 1 can't test it with
the latest saucy beta because ubiquity won't run (separate launchpad
bug).

[Bug 572853] Re: Teamspeak 3 Needs Updated Version in Repo

2013-09-28 Thread Alastair Campbell
This bug has been in Launchpad for over three years and surely can't be
a significantly difficult fix. TeamSpeak 3 has their own installer but
it's not the best, it installs in a strange location.

[Bug 1197869] Re: [Lenovo Thinkpad T430u] randomly locks up/freezes

2013-09-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
bmaupin, regarding your comments
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1197869/comments/21 :
... do you think there's any chance the upgraded BIOS from bug 1157909 would
affect this issue? If so, I can use the default 12.04 kernel instead of the
latest and test it out.

Following up on
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1197869/comments/18
if you want a backport to a release prior to Saucy, you would want to
test it out in that release to see if it is still valid after the BIOS
update.

2013-09-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
hewfish, as per
http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/Product/latitude-e6420
an update is available for your BIOS (A19). If you update to this, does
it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of
the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1209493] Re: libapache2-svn missing in saucy

But unfortunately I run into:

I have downloaded that lib and copied into /usr/local/lib

[Bug 659536] Re: Simple scan in Ubuntu 10.10 does not scan in black and white at all.

2013-09-28 Thread David Gettis
This bug is still there for the brscan driver; apparently the fix only
applies to the brscan3 driver. I have a Brother MFC-9700, which uses the
brscan driver. In Ubuntu 10.04, Simple Scan worked as expected; a text
scan was fast and black and white. Now that I've upgraded to Ubuntu
13.04, text scans are slow and grey-scale.
