[Bug 1237306] Re: lightdm + LDAP login intermitent fail
Dear Robert, Thank you for you answer. The text login works 100% of the time. Your question about the local user is interesting. The home directory is created at the first login, but my problem arises even if the directory exists. There is no error in /var/log/auth.log My intuition is that lightdm "caches" the user information before it is available, because after one "User 'X' authorized, but no account of that name exists", the only solution to make it work is to restart lightdm. Disabling nscd does not fix the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1237306 Title: lightdm + LDAP login intermitent fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1237306/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1233988] Re: With Mir enabled: maliit-server crashed with SIGABRT in __gnu_cxx::__verbose_terminate_handler(), thrown from mir::client::DisplayConfiguration::copy_to_client()
Yep, the stack trace in comment #3 seems to show MirConnection::valid_connections is empty. So platform-api and/or Maliit is passing an invalid MirConnection pointer. Although the stack trace also shows other globals uninitialized, which supports Alan's theory of comment #11. ** Changed in: mir Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1233988 Title: With Mir enabled: maliit-server crashed with SIGABRT in __gnu_cxx::__verbose_terminate_handler(), thrown from mir::client::DisplayConfiguration::copy_to_client() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1233988/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1236965] Re: pulseaudio does not recognize internal speakers [P180HMx, Realtek ALC892, Speaker, Internal] volume slider problem
Going through the comments, I hope I don't miss anything: > I removed the -v argswitch from your test; not supported on my box. Sorry, confused speaker-test with aplay. Aplay has a -v switch that can give some debug information. > 1. both in stereo and surround profiles > I don't understand what this means. Where do I specify my audio-profile? There should be a way to select profile - in Gnome sound settings it's a combobox called "Mode:", in pavucontrol it's on the configuration tab. However, now looking at your original PulseList.txt, the surround profile does not even show up, so we need to look at that first. [Bug 1233466] Re: Hot-Add Memory failing for lack of udev rule
Hi Martin, I will circle back with KY and reply by tomorrow morning on this. What we are trying to convey here is that this was discussed with the kernel folks and they shot down the kernel patch which would have got rid of the udev rule. > Please include the memory hotadd patch I apologize for not being clear In the above statement. I meant to imply that please include the udev rule we have provided as without it we will run in to kernel panics. If you absolutely do not want to include the udev rule we can send you the kernel patch which was debated upon and perhaps you guys can carry that until further resolution with the kernel community. [Bug 1233466] Re: Hot-Add Memory failing for lack of udev rule
Abhishek Gupta, did you really quote the right mails? Because those mails are just proving my point, it makes no sense to have an unconditional userspace rule which is just there to always enable new memory. To the contrary, as this is always going to involve more memory allocation (like it might spawn a new udev worker), it's much more prone to fail in userspace than in kernel space. This would make more sense if, as the thread suggests, you want to pre-add memory without activating it yet (I have no idea why this would be useful, but I don't claim to have a full understanding of all the use cases here), but then we shouldn't have that udev rule. > Please include the memory hotadd patch That's another kernel patch not yet covered by the initial set of three (which should already be in precise)? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1233466 Title: Hot-Add Memory failing for lack of udev rule To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1233466/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1237071] Re: Incompatible with virtualenv
This bug is a duplicate of #988471. Sorry for not checking for other byobu bugs, but launchpad did search for possible duplicates and showed me something that wasn't even close, so I figured I was first. The user who has Python only in /usr/local has installed the Ubuntu Byobu package without the required dependencies. I'm not sure why they think the Byobu package should cope with this. I think it's safe to say that software that gets installed and used is also going to be abuse. It's the software maintainer's job to ensure that the software can survive that abuse, but inevitably there are limits. Using virtualenv to create a preferred (and unexpected) python can be considered abuse. Failing to install required prerequisites is also abuse. For some software, setting strange locales in the environment might be considered abuse. You have to make a decision about what sort of abuse this package can withstand and I don't think many software maintainers are interested in making their software work in the face of missing prerequisites. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1237071 Title: Incompatible with virtualenv To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/byobu/+bug/1237071/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 135738]
Just to add for clarity, it shouldn't be surprising that I had to remove: hw/xfree86/modes/xf86Crtc.c: handle_detailed_physical_size() ... p->output->mm_width = det_mon->section.d_timings.h_size; p->output->mm_height = det_mon->section.d_timings.v_size; since it seems to be called on each DDC probe and not just when the connected output device has changed. This should at least be conditional on DisplaySize not being set. I don't think this has really been noticed since the core DPI is no longer tied to the output size/resolution, but any app wanting to make use of the actual display characteristics via randr will potentially get some very wrong values! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135738 Title: DisplaySize setting not honored To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/135738/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
