[Bug 1205694] Re: 8086:0166 [Taichi 21] external screen is not working properly

2013-10-21 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Joao Felipe Nicolaci Pimentel, could you please test the latest upstream kernel
available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will
allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test
the daily kernel folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've
tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically
you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the
following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc6

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1243056] [NEW] Master Volume Ignored on Recon3D (CA0132) With Alsamixer/PA

2013-10-21 Thread Michael Murphy
Public bug reported:

It began when I installed gnome-shell from a minimal CD in Ubuntu 13.10,
then I wasn't able to change volume with the volume slider which
controls ALSA's Master control, but after installing the rest of ubuntu-
desktop I completely lost sound on my Recon3D.

I tried installing Ubuntu 13.10 again and still wasn't able to get any
sound at all as soon as I installed the rest of ubuntu-desktop. I
decided to go back to Ubuntu 13.04 with a fresh install, but although I
can get sound with my Recon3D here 100% of the time, I cannot get the
master volume controls to work.

You can raise and lower them in alsamixer but they simply won't have any
effect. Similarly, you can enable/disable some features in alsamixer and
they won't have any effect, even though before they worked fine.

However, if I switch to HDMI audio, the master control works, so the
problem is with how alsa ignores various options in my Recon3D

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

2013-10-21 Thread asmodey
Updated from proposed. Shift+Caps worked and I think this bug is fixed.
But there is other bugs:
1) I should press Shift, press Caps, release Caps, release Shift. Otherwise
layout switch isn't happening. It's unnatural
2) When I use Shift+Caps for layout switching, layout is switched, but letter
registry changes too - if I used small letters in new layout they become BIG
and vice versa.

Anyways, thank you for fix!

[Bug 1242766] Re: python manage.py compress: bin/sh: 1: lesscpy: not found

2013-10-21 Thread Matthias Runge
I'd like to add, when using COMPRESS_OFFLINE = True, you don't need a
compressor at runtime. Especially this was a concern, when we used
nodejs and less.js to compress, and nobody wants both permanently on a
server for a task to be only run once.

[Bug 551668] Re: Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 don't modify brightness on Sony VAIO VPCCW (GT 230M)

2013-10-21 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Alex Mayorga Adame, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available
following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow
additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the
daily kernel folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested
the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you
tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc6

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

Sebastien Bacher, bug #1220204 is not related to bug with updating keyboard
icon and selected keyboard layout.
I've install update of gnome-control-center from proposed repository and
restart the unity session, sets ctrl+shift for switching to next layout (I've
two kbd layouts, en and ru), and if I press ctrl+shift keyboard layout
switching to next (ru->en, en->ru) but icon and selected layout (in the menu of
keyboard indicator) has not updating. Bullet on left side of the layout name
remains on the "English" item, although what the layout actually selected.

Sorry, long day. I meant setting PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 fixed it. I
tested by running from the command line, i.e.:

$ PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 skype

When that worked I edited the skype desktop file to make the change
permanent.

[Bug 1243031] [NEW] Unison command line autocompletion is broken

2013-10-21 Thread Francois Marot
Public bug reported:

Fresh install of KUbuntu 13.10 (it was the same on KUbuntu 13.04),
package 2.40.102-2ubuntu1

In a terminal, typing unison then followed by tab is expected to display
a list of the available unison profiles ( *.prf files, either located in
the current directory or in ~/.unison ). Instead of that unison no
specific autocomplete.

However a specific directory containing a configuration has been created
by the package ( /etc/bash_completion.d/unison/unison.completion.bash ).

I was able to have autocomplete working using the content provided here:

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so

[Bug 1243020] [NEW] In multi-monitor setups, can't tell which monitor is primary monitor when "Launcher placement" is set to "All displays"

2013-10-21 Thread Benjamin Xiao
Public bug reported:

In the Display settings in gnome-control-center, if a user has "Launcher
placement" set to "All displays", there is no way to tell which monitor
is the primary monitor, since all the monitors each have their own
"Launcher marker" on their left hand side. The user can even change the
primary monitor by dragging one of those Launcher markers to the monitor
that they want, but there is no visual queue that they have done so.
This is extremely confusing for the user.

The expected behavior should be that the primary monitor has a unique
visual queue indicating that it is the primary monitor (for example, a
glowing/highlighted Launcher marker or a star in the upper right
corner). The user should be able to change the primary monitor by
dragging the visual queue around and placing it on the monitor of their
choice. The ability to define primary monitors easily is necessary to
support things like fullscreen games, which appear by default on the
primary monitor.

Behavior for other "launcher placement" settings should remain the same.
