Re: [Bug 1244713] Re: invalid syntax for check_ssh plugin
Wow, that was quick, good job guys =) Until now, in Ubuntu nothing happened. This fix only exist in Debian and needs to be merged and pushed into 13.10. The Status changed to Fix Rleased cause lanchpad detected the referenced Debian bug is marked as fixed. Anyways ... the question is: Why didn't got the package fixed _before_ the release of 13.10 as the nagios-plugins 1.4.16-3 was uploaded to Debian on 23th Aug, with just only bugfixes (one fixing a bug reported in Ubuntu). [Bug 1241202] Verification report.
Please find the attached test log from the Ubuntu Server Team's CI infrastructure. As part of the verification process for this bug, the OpenStack components have been deployed and configured across multiple nodes using raring-proposed as an installation source. After successful bring-up and configuration of the cluster, a number of exercises and smoke tests have be invoked to ensure the updated package did not introduce any regressions. A number of test iterations were carried out to catch any possible transient errors. These proposed packages were deployed and tested in several different configurations. Attached are tarballs with various test logs from each configuration. In addition to the base components, variables in deployments include: raring_grizzly_nova-network: - nova-network (FlatDHCP) - glance (Ceph backend) - cinder (Ceph backend) raring_grizzly_iscsi: - nova-network (FlatDHCP) - glance (local backend) - cinder (iSCSI backend) raring_grizzly_quantum: - quantum (OVS plugin) - glance (Ceph backend) - nova-volume (Ceph backend) Please note the versions_tested file in each tarball, which contains details about relevant package versions installed and tested. For records of upstream test coverage of this update, please see the individual bug reports. As per the provisional Micro Release Exception granted to this package by the Technical Board, we hope this contributes toward verification of this update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nova in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241202 Title: Meta bug for tracking Openstack 2013.1.4 Stable Update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-archive/+bug/1241202/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1245119] [NEW] Need automatically re-shape partitions
[Bug 875878] Re: Easymp3gain Hangs when clicking Add File or Add Folder
Thanks Matthias for the suggestion. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.3 (64 bits) and tried the packages from Saucy. [Bug 1242271] Re: package shim-signed 1.3+0.4-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean here. Do you mean you do have the grub-efi-amd64 package installed, or you don't have it installed? Yes, this package installed. The Windows bootloader will not boot anything not signed by the Microsoft key, even if Secure Boot is disabled in the firmware. If your Ubuntu install has not yet been set up for Secure Boot, you will need to disable Secure Boot, and manually choose Ubuntu from a firmware boot menu. My Ubuntu worked fine with Secure Boot in 13.04. But now in 13.10 if I enable secure boot in BIOS, I have Invalid EUFI signature error. If you installed grub-efi-amd64, did you also try again to install shim-signed after that? This should be the last step to enable Secure Boot on your Ubuntu install. This - most probably I guess - has something to do with the hdmi-sound card on board(?) , because pulseaudio hangs in all newer versions of ubuntu after Natty. Unfortunately every sound related program like e.g. the firefox starts waiting in a gray inactive window also, as soon as a sound appears to be played in it. So due to this fact these wss revealed to be unusable. Important information about the hardware caught by alsa, alsamixer (with recognized onboard sound cards), asound modules, lshw and lspci could be - found at http://servmin.homelinux.org/7SGopYpVf1jS7DIZJ4i25743S8 . - . . + found at http://servmin.org/7SGopYpVf1jS7DIZJ4i25743S8 . . . We created a workaround that circuits around the effect and avoids the error for people who run into the same problem (also usable in ltsp.conf as a ltsp-start-script for a particular ws): --- begin #!/bin/bash ## # bootscript for ltsp-clients on medion-pcs with different follow up # of sound-cards and pulse-audio sound manager being switched off ## . /etc/profile echo autospawn=no /etc/pulse/client.conf echo defaults.pcm.card 1 /etc/asound.conf echo defaults.pcm.device 0 /etc/asound.conf echo defaults.ctl.card 1 /etc/asound.conf alsa reload --- end it works on all the effected wss. We waited for an update to solve the problem but the fact that all newer versions cannot handle this hardware lets us file this bug finally. [Bug 969489] Re: lightdm tries (and fails) to start too early?
I got better result using default lightdm greeter instead of ubuntu's one. [Bug 1245064] Re: Keyboard Layout Options window is missed in gnome-control-center keyboard
** Description changed: In next six month 14.04 will be prepared and arrived. It's LTS. So users of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS may want to update to it. What they have now (in Ubuntu 12.04.3)? They have very wide choose of available hotkeys for layout change. Let's see. In Ubuntu 12.04.3, under gnome-control-center keyboard we have (select tab Typing, click on link Layout Settings in left bottom corner of window, press the Options button in the bottom right corner of window, window Keyboard Layout Options is opened). This window allows user to set many options. It allows to set the following: Adding currency signs to certain keys Adding Esperanto circumflexes (supersigno) Alt/Win key behavior Caps Lock key behavior Compose key position Ctrl key position Japanese keyboard options Key sequence to kill the X server Key(s) to change layout Key to choose 3rd level Key to choose 5th level Miscellaneous compatibility options Numeric keypad delete key behavior Numeric keypad layout selection Use keyboard LED to show alternative layout Using space key to input non-breakable space character In Ubuntu 13.10 this setup window is missing. So user will be unable to adjust many layout switching parameters. For example, under Key(s) to change layout this window has: Alt+Caps Lock Alt+Ctrl Alt+Shift Alt+Space Any Win key (while pressed) Both Alt keys together Both Ctrl keys together Both Shift keys together Caps Lock Caps Lock (to first layout), Shift+Caps Lock (to last layout) Caps Lock (while pressed), Alt+Caps Lock does the original capslock action Ctrl+Shift Left Alt Left Alt+Left Shift Left Alt (while pressed) Left Ctrl Left Ctrl+Left Shift Left Ctrl+LeftWin (to first layout), RightCtrl+Menu (to second layout) Left Ctrl (to first layout), Right Ctrl (to last layout) Left Shift Left Win Left Win (to first layout), Right Win/Menu (to last layout) Left Win (while pressed) Menu Right Alt Rigth Alt (while pressed) Right Ctrl Right Ctrl+Right Shift Right Ctrl (while pressed) Right Shift Right Win Right Win (while pressed) Scroll Lock Shift+Caps Lock This list is very long but universal. Defined hotkeys are full-functional. For example if I set Ctrl+Shift for layout changing I can copy and paste in gnome-terminal with Ctrl+Shift+C / V. I do not want to post other Keyboard Layout Options features, that missed in 13.10. But they are of course missed. - What we have now in 13.10 (ppa or proposed)? + What we have now in 13.10 (ppa:attente/1218322 or proposed)? We have simple shortcuts (for example Alt+Shift and Ctrl+Shift) and do not have other. This bug report will be a table of contents of all issues, that are called from this window and are broken/missed in Ubuntu 13.10. For example, we can detect and report separate bugreports for each hotkey which does not work correctly in 13.10. Keyboard layout switching is most important and most essential functionality. IMHO. I do not agree with GNOME simpilicity/stupidity modern style and I hope that 14.04 will be polished and full-functional as Precise Pangolin. I understand that some of the keyboard layout switch options are available in gnome-tweak-tool, but it is not right place for them. Layout switching is a common feature, there is no reason to hide it under not-preinstalled tool. Let's make Trusty Tahr the greatest Ubuntu LTS release! Problem is gone after a complete fresh install of Saucy Salamander on the same machine. [Bug 1244548] Re: Keyboard shortcut for changing keyboard layout does not work on lock screen
Confirmed. Moreover: - I can't see any rationale behind not showing the switcher if it's at English. Definitely looks like buggy behavior rather than good design, leaving the user clueless why it's sometimes shown and sometimes not. For starter, I'd like to see confirmation that the layout is English. And maybe I prefer to type my password in the other layout. - The indicator looks like a text label. Nothing indicates that it's clickable. It should look like a button, or dropdown, or such. - Similarly, it can't be activated from the keyboard (Tab to move focus there, Enter/Space to toggle). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244548 Title: Keyboard shortcut for changing keyboard layout does not work on lock screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bug/1244548/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1244899] Re: the format, it does nothing!
Okay, that reassignment is fair enough, but realize that it *worked* when I used pure gnome-disk-utility's interface. It was Nautilus's integration with gnome-disk-utility that seemed to fail. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244899 Title: the format, it does nothing!
