[Bug 1244635] Please test proposed package

2013-10-29 Thread Stéphane Graber
Hello Andrea, or anyone else affected,

Accepted lxc into quantal-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/0.8.0~rc1-4ubuntu39.12.10.5 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1067320] Re: 1002:6798 [fglrx] VT cursor is visible and blinking on top of Unity Radeon HD 7970 and 5450

2013-10-29 Thread dennyg...@gmail.com
I run Xubuntu 12.04.3 LTS 64 bit version. I also have this problem with
fglrx and fglrx-updates.

Logging out and back in solves the issue. This issue doesn't show up on
every boot, it happens about one in every three or four boots.

[Bug 1246145] Re: machine locks up after upgrade to 13.10

2013-10-29 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1246145/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1235864] Re: Network down after resume

2013-10-29 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Julien Olivier, could you please confirm this issue exists with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
could you please run the following command in the development release
from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report:

apport-collect -p linux

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily
folder, but the one all the way at the bottom) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue.Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc7

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1245719] Re: RBD backed instance can't shutdown and restart

2013-10-29 Thread Quenten Grasso
I've found if i create the instance via horizon using the "Launch
Instance"

Using Instance Boot Source: Boot from image (creates a new volume)

Selecting Image etc,

when powered off and back on again the error happens every time.

However!

If I create the volume first and use a "Boot from Volume" Option and selecting
the volume i precreated with the image,
the Instance it seems it can power off and on without any issues.

So could be a horizon issue in how its storing the data in sql?

[Bug 1240004] Re: Keyboard layout won't change when using Japanese IME

2013-10-29 Thread Guill-muller
I can change the layout, as in switch from French to Japanese IME and
back. Here is the thing : being a french keyboard, my keyboard's default
layout is azerty, and not qwerty. I used to be able to type French with
the azerty layout, and in Japanese with the qwerty one, using the "do
not use system layout" option. Now, the layout is azerty all the time,
in French or in Japanese, except if I manually edit the line in
mozc.xml.

Typing in qwerty when using the Japanese IME feels more natural since
all Japanese keyboards use the qwerty layout, even though you have to
keep in mind that typing the "A" key on the keyboard will show a "Q" on
your screen.

Basically, it used to be :

French IME (in azerty) - Japanese IME (in qwerty)

and now it's just

French IME (in azerty) - Japanese IME (in azerty)

Is that clear enough ? I might lack the vocabulary to properly explain
the situation...

[Bug 1220719] Re: NetworkManager not setting proper state after suspend

2013-10-29 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Dr. Dabbles, could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest
development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
could you please run the following command in the development release
from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report:

apport-collect -p linux

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily
folder, but the one all the way at the bottom) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue.Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc7

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1242679] Re: network manager unconfigured after wake from suspend

2013-10-29 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
sdowney717, could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest
development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
could you please run the following command in the development release
from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report:

apport-collect -p linux

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily
folder, but the one all the way at the bottom) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue.Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc7

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

You can also install Citadel 8.16 Ubuntu package(s) from this link:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/saucy/mail/citadel-suite

The same thing, install the following packages:

citadel-client
citadel-mta
citadel-server
citadel-webcit

It is verified to work on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32 bit.

The question now: will citadel 8.20 run on ubuntu 12.04?

[Bug 1242794] Re: Missing virtio-port symlinks

This is from as similar an environment as I could recreate outside the
libguestfs-test-tool. I'd noticed the difference in that rule and tried
to remove the SUBSYSTEM check without success before, sorry I didn't
mention that.

Here is the udevadm dump, looks like the subsystem is correct, but I'm
sure it will mean a lot more to you.

Thanks!

[Bug 1201659] Re: gnome-panel crashed with SIGSEGV in gweather_location_equal()

2013-10-29 Thread Nick Jenkins
This happened to me in Ubuntu 13.10, when I was in Gnome 3 fallback desktop.
I right clicked on the panel clock -> preferences -> ticked "show weather" ->
close, and then it crashed.
If it helps, under the "Locations" tab, I have only one location, being "Sydney
Airport Eastern Time (New South Wales)".

[Bug 1246173] [NEW] Wireless Network Stops Responding When No Constant Activity

2013-10-29 Thread Bryan & Melissa Festa
Public bug reported:

I have been experiencing this in both 13.04 and 13.10. My desktop
computer has a micro usb Belken N300 wireless adapter and if there is no
constant activity the network stops responding. If I reselect my
wireless SSID it will reconnect and the network regains traffic until
the activity stops again. I have found leaving streaming data in the
background, like large ftp file transfers, has been my temporary
solution. Happy to help out where I can but I'm not sure where to start
looking.

nm-tool states:
Type: 802.11 WiFi
  Driver:rtl8192cu
  State: connected

lshw states:
*-network
   description: Wireless interface
   physical id: 1

   capabilities: ethernet physical wireless
   configuration: broadcast=yes driver=rtl8192cu
driverversion=3.11.0-12-generic firmware=N/A link=yes multicast=yes
wireless=IEEE 802.11bgn

ls mod states:

mac80211 596969 3 rtl_usb,rtlwifi,rtl8192cu

I have tried changing my wireless channel, turning off IPv6, forcing
static ip and dns. Any help is greatly appreciated.

[Bug 1246171] [NEW] crash with gcc 4.8 (aggressive-loop-optimizations)

2013-10-29 Thread Ilya Melnikov
Public bug reported:

I build and use application
(https://launchpad.net/~rayanayar/+archive/openmcu-ru-dev) which depends on
sofia-sip library. Ubuntu releases before Saucy works fine. But in Saucy was
introduced gcc 4.8:
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.8/changes.html

Sofia-sip package has only one little change in Saucy in comparsion to Raring
(fix build on arm64). But sofia-sip in Saucy became broken. Another one broken
thing in Saucy with target application is libx264. Trying and googling bring me
here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/x264/+bug/1241772

Recompiling sofia-sip package with "-fno-aggressive-loop-optimizations"
solves issue for sofia-sip. Same as enabling saucy-proposed solves issue
for libx264 (in saucy-proposed it is compiled with "-fno-aggressive-
loop-optimizations").

It would be great if "-fno-aggressive-loop-optimizations" will be in
Saucy (and probably in Trusty?) for sofia-sip too.

Attaching patch for debian/rules which solves issue with sofia-sip in my
case.

bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:

[Bug 1243487] Re: After upgrading to saucy ethernet will not wake after suspend

2013-10-29 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Jerry Courtney, could you please confirm this issue exists with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
could you please run the following command in the development release
from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report:

apport-collect -p linux

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily
folder, but the one all the way at the bottom) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue.Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc7

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:

[Bug 1245204] Re: network-manager crashed almost every time after resuming from suspension

2013-10-29 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
sadmanrock, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.
However, your crash report is missing. Please follow these instructions to have
apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the
automatic retracer. First, execute at a terminal:
cd /var/crash && sudo rm * ; sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade &&
sudo apt-get -y install network-manager-gnome-dbg network-manager-dbg && sudo
service apport start force_start=1

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now reproduce the crash, then open your file manager, navigate to your
/var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with
'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is
the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed
to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug
/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. If you run the command against the crash
report and it does nothing, you may be affected by
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/994921 . In order to
WORKAROUND this, one would need to open the following file via a command line:
gksudo gedit /etc/apport/crashdb.conf

and comment out the line:
'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'],

by changing it to:
# 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'],

Save, close, and try to file the crash report again via:
ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash

Please follow https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingNetworkManager when you
file this crash report so the necessary information is provided.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1245557] Re: [Samsung NP530U3C-A05CZ] Incorrect battery/power status

2013-10-29 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Ondrej Sevcik, because Samsung does not easily reveal what the latest BIOS is
for this model, could you please download the latest firmware software as per
http://www.samsung.com/cz/support/model/NP530U3C-A05CZ-downloads, and advise if
a BIOS update is available? If so, when you update to this, does it change
anything? If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the
output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1244880] Re: gtk-redshift appindicator not working in Ubuntu 13.10

2013-10-29 Thread Debabrata Das
Yup! I mentioned in bug description, that only appindicator (i.e. gtk gui part
of the app) is not working.
It uses appindicator python module and if not avialble fallsback to use
gtk.StatusIcon() to create app indicator.
It looks like Ubuntu 13.10 removed libappindicator pkg from default
installtion.
And I don't have any idea about gtk.StatusIcon() support in ubuntu.
