[Bug 1235864] Re: Network down after resume
Julien Olivier, could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc7 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. [Bug 1240004] Re: Keyboard layout won't change when using Japanese IME
I can change the layout, as in switch from French to Japanese IME and back. Here is the thing : being a french keyboard, my keyboard's default layout is azerty, and not qwerty. I used to be able to type French with the azerty layout, and in Japanese with the qwerty one, using the "do not use system layout" option. Now, the layout is azerty all the time, in French or in Japanese, except if I manually edit the line in mozc.xml. Typing in qwerty when using the Japanese IME feels more natural since all Japanese keyboards use the qwerty layout, even though you have to keep in mind that typing the "A" key on the keyboard will show a "Q" on your screen. Basically, it used to be : French IME (in azerty) - Japanese IME (in qwerty) and now it's just French IME (in azerty) - Japanese IME (in azerty) Is that clear enough ? I might lack the vocabulary to properly explain the situation... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1240004 Title: Keyboard layout won't change when using Japanese IME To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-keyboard/+bug/1240004/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1246171] [NEW] crash with gcc 4.8 (aggressive-loop-optimizations)
Public bug reported: I build and use application (https://launchpad.net/~rayanayar/+archive/openmcu-ru-dev) which depends on sofia-sip library. Ubuntu releases before Saucy works fine. But in Saucy was introduced gcc 4.8: http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.8/changes.html Sofia-sip package has only one little change in Saucy in comparsion to Raring (fix build on arm64). But sofia-sip in Saucy became broken. Another one broken thing in Saucy with target application is libx264. Trying and googling bring me here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/x264/+bug/1241772 Recompiling sofia-sip package with "-fno-aggressive-loop-optimizations" solves issue for sofia-sip. Same as enabling saucy-proposed solves issue for libx264 (in saucy-proposed it is compiled with "-fno-aggressive- loop-optimizations"). It would be great if "-fno-aggressive-loop-optimizations" will be in Saucy (and probably in Trusty?) for sofia-sip too. [Bug 1243229] Re: Networking stops after returning from suspend; must reboot
Dan Gillmor, could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu? [Bug 1245204] Re: network-manager crashed almost every time after resuming from suspension
sadmanrock, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is missing. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. First, execute at a terminal: cd /var/crash && sudo rm * ; sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install network-manager-gnome-dbg network-manager-dbg && sudo service apport start force_start=1 If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now reproduce the crash, then open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. If you run the command against the crash report and it does nothing, you may be affected by https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/994921 . In order to WORKAROUND this, one would need to open the following file via a command line: gksudo gedit /etc/apport/crashdb.conf and comment out the line: 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], by changing it to: # 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], Save, close, and try to file the crash report again via: ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash Please follow https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingNetworkManager when you file this crash report so the necessary information is provided. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thank you for your understanding. [Bug 1245557] Re: [Samsung NP530U3C-A05CZ] Incorrect battery/power status
Ondrej Sevcik, because Samsung does not easily reveal what the latest BIOS is for this model, could you please download the latest firmware software as per http://www.samsung.com/cz/support/model/NP530U3C-A05CZ-downloads, and advise if a BIOS update is available? If so, when you update to this, does it change anything? If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. [Bug 1244880] Re: gtk-redshift appindicator not working in Ubuntu 13.10
Yup! I mentioned in bug description, that only appindicator (i.e. gtk gui part of the app) is not working. It uses appindicator python module and if not avialble fallsback to use gtk.StatusIcon() to create app indicator. It looks like Ubuntu 13.10 removed libappindicator pkg from default installtion. And I don't have any idea about gtk.StatusIcon() support in ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244880 Title: gtk-redshift appindicator not working in Ubuntu 13.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/redshift/+bug/1244880/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
