[Bug 1250838] [NEW] pulseaudio stops playing sound
Public bug reported: When playing music in a flash player in Google chrome, I would lose sound on my headphones every 5-10 minutes. In pavucontrol, Chromium shows up on the playback streams but the actual output bar is frozen in place. When I click on the configuration tab and change the profile of my GameCom USB headset, the sound comes back and the stream's output indicator moves again. I have attached a verbose log and default.pa both without tsched=0 added to the udev module load, as adding tsched=0 did not solve the issue. Please note that I had also commented out load-module module-suspend-on- idle in default.pa. This change was in effect when logging the attached log. [Bug 1248808] Re: volume and brightness keys are mismapped on Samsung Chromebook
Can you please install the evtest package, run sudo evtest, and select the device which represents your keyboard? Then you can press the Fn keys and check which of them have a wrong KEY_* code. Please note down the scan code, current, and intended key code. For example, Event: time 1384346796.203894, type 4 (EV_MSC), code 4 (MSC_SCAN), value 06 Event: time 1384346796.203894, type 1 (EV_KEY), code 227 (KEY_SWITCHVIDEOMODE), value 0 This is scan code 4 (from code 4 (MSC_SCAN)), and key code SWITCHVIDEOMODE. [Bug 1248808] Re: [keymap] volume and brightness keys on Samsung Chromebook
Or do you mean that pressing e. g. F8 is not actually yielding F8 but some special funtion like projector or brightness? Some laptops require pressing Fn+F8 to get the actual F8, and the simple F8 is a hotkey. [Bug 1094499] Re: vlc crashed with SIGSEGV in dvdnav_describe_title_chapters()
Colin, mind opening a new bug for that dvd issue? That looks like a crash due to a bad pgc-cell_playback_offset value, which is different from this bug. This one is already closed and considered fixed, so no further work is going to be done on it. I seem to recall having a similar issue with that disk, but didn't investigate it at the time. You might want to test the upstream libdvdnav/libdvdread, as a lot of fixes have gone into those lately, so there might already be a patch available. If so, and especially if you can help identify which patch is needed, that could help accelerate getting that fix into precise. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1094499 Title: vlc crashed with SIGSEGV in dvdnav_describe_title_chapters() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libdvdnav/+bug/1094499/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1250476] Re: e1000e module sometimes prevents suspend to ram
James Hewitt, as per http://download.lenovo.com/express/ddfm.html an update is available for your BIOS (2.55). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. [Bug 1250837] Re: Schedule doesn't work correctly
You didn't read documentation carefully enough, qouting: Note: The day of a command's execution can be specified by two fields -- day of month, and day of week. If both fields are restricted (ie, aren't *), the command will be run when either field matches the cur- rent time. For example, 30 4 1,15 * 5 would cause a command to be run at 4:30 am on the 1st and 15th of each month, plus every Friday. So your schedule means run when it is 6:30 AND november AND (tuesday OR day of month is one of 8,9,10,11,12,13,14 ) This is not a bug, but by design. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1250837 Title: Schedule doesn't work correctly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cron/+bug/1250837/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

further findings Installed ubuntu 13.10, updated everything, added usb to parallel dot matrix printer with text driver and all performs the same, no difference, the terminal command lp -d text -oraw test.txt prints once every time after usb cable reconnection then I connected my HP deskjet F2492 printer, it automaticalley appeared in printers, and it worked perfect, both print and scan. BUT, since then, no print at all to the usb to parallel dot matrix jobs stay forever in the text queue, even after cable reconnection. If nothing helps, boot 13.10 and edit the file /usr/share/cups/usb/org.cups.usb-quirks, adding a line like one of these (only one of them at the same time): 050d 0002 unidir 050d 0002 no-reattach 050d 0002 soft-reset try also combinations by adding more than one option in one line (but it must stay only one line for your device): 050d 0002 unidir no-reattach 050d 0002 unidir no-reattach soft-reset Try also other combinations. [Bug 1250877] [NEW] Python3 modules are not installed in the right path
Public bug reported: [Note: this might be a bug in autoconf rather than automake, I'm not entirely sure] On Ubuntu (and I think also on Debian), Python3 modules are installed in /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages However, that's different from the upstream path, which is /usr/lib/python3.3/site-packages Python3 modules building with the Autotools will get installed in the upstream-preferred path, and as a result, Python3 won't find them. Here is a way to reproduce it: 1. First, install libcangjie from Git: git clone git://github.com/Cangjians/libcangjie cd libcangjie ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr make sudo make install 2. Now, install pycangjie: git clone git://github.com/Cangjians/pycangjie cd pycangjie ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr make sudo make install (you might need to install some dependencies, like libsqlite3-dev, python3-de and cython) Now, observe how the module was installed in /usr/lib/python3.3/site- packages/cangjie, where Python3 won't find it. This installation path is not hardcoded in the pycangjie build process, it is **automatically discovered by the autotools**. If Ubuntu (or is it Debian?) decides to change where Python3 modules are installed, then shouldn't it also try to ensure that they actually get installed there? ** Affects: automake (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1250877 Title: Python3 modules are not installed in the right path To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/automake/+bug/1250877/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1250883] [NEW] Optimizer's mistake
Public bug reported: OS: Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS gcc version: 4.6.3-1ubuntu5 It's a slightly modificated test case from gcc-4.6.3 testsuite (920612-1.c): int main(){ int a = 0; if ((int)((~0u) (1 + a))+1 0) abort(); exit(0); } It operates fine after compilation with -O0 or -O1 option (exit is executed), but changes behavior if compiled with -O2 or -O3 (abort is executed). [Bug 1010625] Re: named logs are not being reported in logwatch
@Robie: Any progreess here? I noticed that awhile back I had inadvertently changed the status from triaged to confirmed. I am unable to change it back to triaged. The result will be that the default location(s) will be searched/parsed for messages. The current default is 'All' This is simple and straightforward. Or... 2) Change the 'LogFile = messages' line to 'LogFile = syslog' in all of the aforementioned .conf files. Robie, could you comment on these? Good? Bad?
