[Bug 1236653]
Fixed in Mesa 9.2.3 (out today), the upcoming Mesa 10.0 release, or Mesa master. This fixes the Sandybridge-specific GPU hang where i915_error_state (aka /sys/class/drm/card0/error) lists an IPEHR of 0x79050005. If you experience a GPU hang and your IPEHR is not 0x79050005, that is a different bug. [Bug 1236653]
Sorry to re-open but I wanted to include one more detail - either a recent update fixed this for me, or a recent change I made to my BIOS settings (changing my fan speed from normal to turbo in my motherboard BIOS) has made me unable to reproduce this hang, even after long periods of scrolling complex maps in Google Maps. I can definitely raise the temperature nearly 10C by doing this, but with the fans on turbo (and this only seems to make it slightly louder) the hang does not occur. Hopefully this will help anyone else with these issues - always try to cool the processor as much as possible! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1236653 Title: Graphics performance reduced after playing games for a little bit To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1236653/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1182734] Re: Slide out toolbar should be displayed by default on the desktop (swiping is difficult)
In my opinion just including a menu with an option to reveal the toolbar would make a difference. Not the best option, for sure, but I least something that any desktop user could expect. The application is completely useless for a desktop environment as it is, having no menu, no toolbar and not being integrated with the messaging indicator (even the old gwibber allowed to post messages from there). [Bug 1210785] Re: wpa_supplicant crashed with SIGSEGV
In its current state, there just isn't much we can do with this bug. I had been fortunate enough to get a stacktrace previously from one of the duplicates, but it's missing just as much data as what's currently included. To get this bug in a usable state where I can fix the issue (and sorry, I just haven't had luck reproducing it yet), I'd need someone who is able to reproduce the bug easily to try the following: 1) Add my ppa (https://launchpad.net/~mathieu-tl/+archive/sru-staging?field.series_filter=saucy): sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mathieu-tl/sru-staging Note, it will take a few hours for the wpasupplicant packages to build. The only change is to add a package with debugging symbols so we can figure out what is going on. 2) install the debug packages and the wpasupplicant with extra debugging package from my PPA: sudo apt-get install libc6-dbg sudo apt-get install wpasupplicant-dbg wpasupplicant 3) Delete any files named wpasupplicant* from /var/crash (to make sure we get to see what happens) 4) Reboot (important! we need to make sure the new wpasupplicant gets used) 5) Reproduce the issue. Once wpasupplicant crashes you should see it creates a file in /var/crash with its name: wpasupplicant.0.crash or something similar. Please send me this file via email at mathieu (at) canonical.com , make sure the subject is something meaningful. I won't need five of them, just one is necessary, so please only do this if you feel confident I could answer you and ask for a bit more tinkering, like installing another debug package for libnl, if it comes to it. [Bug 1226172] Re: iostat: Cannot open /proc/stat: Cannot allocate memory
I believe it did occur in Quantal, but I am not 100% certain. These servers had Quantal for a very shot time (~1 day), because we required kernel features present only in Raring+, for use with Ceph/Rados. Raring was still 3-4 months from release, but we were pulling Raring Kernels into Quantal. These servers have been fully Raring based since its official release. I have loaded kernellinux-headers-3.12.0-031200-generic (trusty), the one from the bottom, to ensure we're thorough. Your original instructions were confusing. [Bug 1251637] Re: Problems pairing Apple's Magic trackpad in 13.10
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1251637/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1251684] [NEW] 13.10 shutdown on Acer 3050 laptop doesn't work
Public bug reported: After doing an update to Ubuntu 13.04, the laptop wwould go thru the motions of shutting down but would NOT complete the shutdown. The drive light continues to flicker and the 2 status lights on the front of the laptop remain lit. I tried to correct this issue by installing Ubuntu 13.10 from a DVD over the existing Ubuntu 13.04. This was before I saw all the problems showing up with the release. It installed but had some options that had to be corrected. The machine still will not after getting several updates since. This machine is set up as a dual-boot with Windows Vista. The Windows side shutsdown without any issues. This shutdown problem affects the lptop and not my Zotac desktop machine. It appears to be a problem in the shutdown of laptops and not desktop machines. The only way I can shut it down or reboot the machine is to HARD Shutdown the machine and then press the POWER button to start it back up. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1251684 Title: 13.10 shutdown on Acer 3050 laptop doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1251684/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 1182484] Re: can't install xubuntu-desktop
This was so long ago that I am partially guessing here, but, if I remember correctly I believe that update manager was set to allow automatic upgrade when a new version is released and when it tried to do so it ran into the bug which was automatically reported. I was oblivious to this for a while but eventually caught on. As I am on the LTS version and will probably only upgrade when the next LTS is released I eventually disabled the automatic upgrade option in the update manager and have had no more issues. It updates the system now instead of trying to upgrade to a newer version. Thanks... On 11/14/2013 03:59 PM, Craig Hrabal wrote: Could you be a tad bit more specific what you mean by upgrade. [Bug 1229195] Re: Openconnect will not connect under Saucy -- openssl problem?
Would it be possible for someone to provide some instructions for running openconnect from the command line? There are some relative noobs who are not sure how to do this exactly and who find the instructions from the terminal and here (http://www.infradead.org/openconnect/manual.html) a little confusing. Issue is also being discussed on the ubuntuforums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2182544 Any help at all would be very much appreciated. Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream stable kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.11 stable kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
